You should just tape off the two ends that you unplugged and bolt it back together so you don't have to do this everyday and when your dad is around you could just stick the key in and turn it for looks to make him happy lol

If someone wants something badly enough their gonna steal it either way. Even if this didnt work its not hard to buy an ignition for $10 on ebay and plug it in.
