The good news- Kepler, Farmer, Margot and Santana off the books for 2025. The bad news is their contracts will only pay for the guaranteed increases in salaries for Lopez and Correa. Zero money for free agents in 2025 plus 13 Twins are in abitration this year. With the projection for increases in salary, that means the payroll is going over 135 million and you still have to pay major league minimum contracts for Lewis, Lee, Festa, Matthews and probably E Rodriguez. Payroll HAS to increase next year, regardless of who owns the team unless you trade one of the Big 3, Buxton, Correa or Lopez. It should be an interesting off season.

The Twins could have picked up Seth Lugo, Michael Wacha, Mike Flaherty or Alex Cobb or any number of relief pitchers but Falvey extended Vazquez for 10 million a year, picking up injured pitchers like Mahle, Paddack, and wasting money on Farmer, Margot, Felipe Lopez, Staumont, Richards etc., trading away Rooker who hit .300 this year with 40 home runs, Gil to NY who is a stalwart in the Yanks rotation for Jake Frigging Cave, Falvey’s bad decisions are being swept under the rug.
@@Razorbacks1 no they’re not . Anybody who actually follows the Twins knows Falvey has been less than stellar as a GM. The Pohlads are not great owners but there is plenty of blame to go around especially with Falvey
Yes. The most important players on the Twins 1987 and 1991 World Series were developed during the Calvin Griffith era or obtained via trade using Griffith era players, including Hrbek, Gagne, Gaetti, Puckett, Bush, Brunansky, Laudner, Viola, Blyleven, Tapani, and Aguilera. The Pohlads were fortunate to inherit a lot of talent when they bought the Twins from Griffith in 1984. The Pohlads made a good move when they hired Andy MacPhail as GM in Aug. 1985. MacPhail then hired Tom Kelly to be Manager.
'87 and '91 will matter until another men's team manages to win something. All depends on if you remember it or not. At 9 years old in 1991, I was just at the age to take it in and have vivid memories. Given what has happened since in this town, I consider myself lucky. I certainly don't lament the awful Pholads leaving. But how baseball works without a salary cap is going to hamstring the team unless whoever buys it is willing to eat 10s of millions in losses.
Complain about ownership all you want. It’s time to make lineup changes and create a healthier locker room culture. Shop Royce Lewis, he seems to think he’s got everything figured out, bad body language, and rubs established vets the wrong way. Talent only gets you so far, we need talent and leadership. I was never a Carlos Correa fan at first but I can really appreciate his value. We need confident but HUMBLE players.
Not a fan of the Pohlads, especially the contraction thing along with the way they destroyed all the momentum the team had this last offseason. But let's not sell fans a bunch of BS here that the new owners will be some billionaire lifelong Twins fans with hearts of gold. The new owners will have the revenue problems compounded with tens of millions in additional expenses annually to finance the debt taken out to purchase the team. Unless the broken finances of MLB are changed, nothing will change with the Twins. So, I don't really care much that they're going to sell the team. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if the Pohlads are still here 2 years from now. Also, have you seen what the owners of the A's, Pirates, Marlins, and Rays have done? That's worse.

I really hope a new manager or gm is on the table, it should be rocco first
It is pretty simple, we want owners who will spend freely on the team when using their money. We are much less enthusiastic when it is our money being used for facilities such as stadiums. We are just that shallow.
I know this is a Twins show, but this is the same thing as getting rid of Kirk and Hunter. Be careful what you wish for, Kirk wasnt the best but he wasnt the worst. The Vikings are 5 and bleeping 0 now and talking about the playoffs in a year where everyone wrote us off and still wants to. We need to stop with the hand-wringing and call for bold moves. Mediocrity sucks. Im sick of it when the path to doing better is so painfully obvious. All of the major mens sports teams save the Wolves very recently.
MLB needs revenue sharing comparable to NFL or there are numerous teams that will not succeed. Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, the whatever Athletic's, and numerous other teams - and the idiot commissioner wants to expand baseball! What is he smoking???
A fan viewpoint that you rarely entertain is the comfortable certainty of having a team to watch, or in your case, to bitch about. The Twins have had only two sets of owners in their existence. That is dependability on a grand scale. Sure, we want to win, but we also want to have a team to root for at all. I am old enough to remember a time without any of the pro sports that MN has. I remember when the Twins came. Don't forget, we stole them from DC. Calvin loved baseball, but he couldn't handle the financial aspect of the game eventually. Your biggest gripe is that the Pohlads don't love the game enough to be your unlimited sugar daddy. Enough money to buy you all those sweet, sweet players. Changing ownership won't change that. There is not enough money here for that to happen. If enough money for that to happen shows up, it will come from sources that could and probably would move the team to a market where they think they can make more money. It is analogous to wanting the Gopher football team to become Ohio State or Michigan (or Alabama or Georgia, etc). There are baked-in factors working against that. And, honestly, MN would not want to sacrifice many things they value to become one of those. Also, I don't miss the fact that you guys are basically sports gossips. Nothing wrong with that, per se, but I frown on toxic fandom. Only one team wins the championship each year in each of these sports. Are all the other teams and their players and their fans, losers? As long as everyone involved is working to the best of their abilities to try to succeed, I will not be disappointed. All the outrage and angst about this is not healthy. We venerate winners like saints and denigrate losers like they are unworthy human beings. Since we know that isn't true, why act that way in the first place. I have always loved sports. I have always played sports and competed, but I have grown very tired of this behavior.
Blah blah blah who gives a shit about anything you wrote here. The Pohlads hate baseball and they think you, a fan, is too stupid to understand how terrible they’ve been for the last 20 years. Have some self respect and demand more from the teams you like.
until there is real revenue sharing teams like the twins will always be a over rated AAA team in the majors , the bottom 10 revenue teams total money doesnt match what the yankees make on the radio revenue alone, so yeah take out 20 teams that will never win as long as there is no total revenue sharing , and call it good . all the good sports share revenue and the leagues are solid , baseball not so much , more like a giant joke for 10s of millions of fans , and it is also why baseball is a dying sport
Little DeClan thinks his testosterone levels are up since his mustache is visible so he rants and raves jumping up and down in his chair. We should’ve put him on Jim Pohlads heels long ago!
It is part and parcel of sports gossip shows like this. Take a position against something (in this case, local establishment showing a bit of gratitude for 40 years of stable ownership) and then, within mere moments, contradicting that position with some other bit of insight. This is all just some design to push the emotional buttons of listeners. There could be honesty and transparency by saying that we're going to look at multiple sides of a story at the beginning, and to indicate that they are not sure which side is the best in their view, but that is not what these shows, do. This was not as big an issue in the past because there were fewer of these shows and less of the sports entertainment complex. By that, I mean the unending pre-game and post-game shows and networks devoted to sports gossip because there are not enough actual contests to broadcast. The vast amount of time needs to be filled with something. Daily having shows where we must "rank" something or someone. Always talking about someone's "legacy". None of this stuff ever matches the sporting matches themselves.

Didn't the pohlads inherit the roster from Calvin Griffith as far as the basic rostervthat won the world series in 87 and 91
You might be ok with nothing since 91 but most expect more from their team than that
@@User-b9q2zLook at all the teams that have never won a World 🌍 Series at all, there is 5 of them

Lolol Reusse. Amazing 😂
it was not a disaster though

Bruh this account has to be a Pohlad burner account with the crap you post in the comments on a consistent basis 😂
Ruesse is wrong as usual
They lucked into two titles. They were the worst owners in mlb
Cousins was always a joke, never got why Vikings fans defended him so hard.
5-0 looks good now, but it's isn't the whole season
Pity the billionaire
Didnt see Mackey's take before this comment lol
This is what happens when mediocrity wins
MLB needs revenue sharing comparable to NFL or there are numerous teams that will not succeed. Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, the whatever Athletic's, and numerous other teams - and the idiot commissioner wants to expand baseball! What is he smoking???
Blaming Pohlads for bad trade is ludicrous
Long way to say you just don’t get it 😂
Blah blah blah who gives a shit about anything you wrote here. The Pohlads hate baseball and they think you, a fan, is too stupid to understand how terrible they’ve been for the last 20 years. Have some self respect and demand more from the teams you like.

Not with 15 years to go, there is no other city they could move to no one has a ballpark ready to go
@@michaelleroy9281 yes they can

Attack Pohlads for NOT spending THEN present new strategy where TEAM won't spend you are talking out of both sides of your mouth
until there is real revenue sharing teams like the twins will always be a over rated AAA team in the majors , the bottom 10 revenue teams total money doesnt match what the yankees make on the radio revenue alone, so yeah take out 20 teams that will never win as long as there is no total revenue sharing , and call it good . all the good sports share revenue and the leagues are solid , baseball not so much , more like a giant joke for 10s of millions of fans , and it is also why baseball is a dying sport
THE WILFS SHOULD BUY THE TWINS
Would be nice, but a bit much to ask.
Little DeClan thinks his testosterone levels are up since his mustache is visible so he rants and raves jumping up and down in his chair. We should’ve put him on Jim Pohlads heels long ago!

Judd the dummy says new owners NEED TO DO EXACTLY WHAT POHLADS DID DO
It is part and parcel of sports gossip shows like this.
Trevor absolutely has a picture of Judd that he kisses goodnight before going to bed
