@msun3182 Yes, they're not inexpensive, but the quality of Tumi bags is extremely good. They are very durable and tend to last a long time. You wind up spending a little more up front, but because of how long they last it actually winds up being a good value.

I have always used Tumi men's travel tote. My current one is about 9 years old and want to replace. This item is almost identical and perfect....except for the price. WAY OVER PRICED!! $425 is just not understandable under any circumstances. You have to wait to hopefully it goes on sale. So sad that Tumi is pricing people out of the market.

@@abtelectronics What is it like as a sling - especially compared to other Tumi slings? How much does it weigh and is it comfortable? What is it like to pack out and is it useful as a carry-on instead of a larger sling or backpack or should it be used as an additional small bag which we are sometimes allowed. Sometimes they make us put them inside our carry on luggage.
To be honest I would have just loved a human perspective on the bag and a sense of what it is like to live with it for a while.
I know you guys at Abt are good at giving the basics and don't have to live with the items but even your brief reviews have been helpful over the years.
@iu1191 To answer some of your questions, the weight of just the bag is 2.9 lbs, which may be considered slightly heavy for it's overall size, but is very reasonable for how well the bag is made. The ease of pack out will depend on what you're bringing with, but the compartments open wide enough for most EDC items, including a 14" laptop or tablet, or both depending on what else you're carrying around. It'll fit a water bottle inside, but it doesn't have a water resistant pocket anywhere so be sure the bottle has a good seal. Honestly, it's not going to be the best carryon replacement because there are backpacks that can fit more than this and still fit under an airplane seat, but you could potentially load this bag and fit it inside a backpack and still bring it with. The straps don't have padding so if you're carrying a lot of items you may start to feel it on your collarbone after several hours, but you also have several ways to carry the bag that can take the pressure off if you need to change things up. Hopefully this clears up some of your questions/concerns, but if you need any more answers please let us know!
