  • Installation video: How to install an Airlift 1000 kit on a Kia Niro EV.
    We used Airlift PN 60901 (link below), and it works well.

    PN 60902 might be a better fit (one inch longer), but will be MUCH more frustrating to install, and might require you to drop the suspension altogether.

    Genius. Why am I watching this even?! Haha
    I won’t be towing anything cause it is not authorized in Sweden with this car.
    Also, I am hesitating buying the Kia only due to long trip charging times between 20-80% (~45min / 3,5 hours highway driving). Just wish they made it faster than 77kw internal limit :(
    It is really a nice car .
    Nice video

      done!!! aside from the noise they make in parking lots, have been very happy with them!

    Can’t you partially inflate them to keep them from making noise?

    What will Kia have to say if you need to make a warranty claim on let’s say the drive train, brakes or batteries. Will Kia be happy about you fitting a tow hitch.

    Could you let me know the dimension or the part number of the airlift 🎒?

    You state 313lbs but that weight is also shared on the trailer axle so the load on the Niro is less. How does this modification impact the car warranty?

    • @ECOBRAP
      @ECOBRAP  4 роки тому

      Not by much. the weight was loaded directly over the hitch, so 95% (or more) of that listed weight is acting on the Niro. Any modifications (trailer hitch, airbags, trailer lighting) are do at your own risk

    Could you just leave them inflated all the time and effectively have a 3/4 inch lift?

      hi Eric, don't get us tempted into throwing some off road tires on! Jokes aside, I actually leave mine inflated all the time anyways, and they don't really add any ride height, (maybe 1/8"), they mostly just protect against squat/compression instead.

    I want to do this for mine. But I want it for better ride quality. Does this help ride quality making it smoother?

    • @ECOBRAP
      @ECOBRAP  3 роки тому +1

      It will help with ride quality when the car is packed full of gear, or towing a trailer, but otherwise it will just make the car even stiffer.

    Not trying to be a grammar nazi but to help you in the future, its not "in all intensive purposes" the correct saying is, "in all intents and purposes ". Unfortunately most all of us have been around morons in our youth using the incorrect terms. Much like you will hear people say and write Walla instead of the actual word Voila(I call them public school teachers). In any case other than that great video series on the kia ev upgrades.

    Grease the air bags before install or deflate and grease after install and they shouldn't squeak. 😉

    • @scottproulx9157
      @scottproulx9157 4 роки тому

      Or would that defeat their ability to make the springs stiffer?

    • @ECOBRAP
      @ECOBRAP  4 роки тому

      @@scottproulx9157 I don't think it would affect their ability, because they simply have nowhere else to go. Good suggestion although I would expect it might only quiet them for a month or two

      Nope do not lube or grease the bags because DIRT AND GRIT WILL MOST DEFINITELY STICK TO THE LUBED BAGS LIKE A MAGNET
