0-18's are very nice. Good for me that a lot of people have not figured that out. I was able to buy a lot of vintage 0-18's at relatively low prices. The prices are rising recently. You can get plenty of sound out of a 0-18 using a flatpick. Also great tones with a thumb pick and fingers.
@@MaurysMusic I bought a OM-18A from your store many years back. Then I got infatuated with vintage 0-18's. I bought 8 of them: 1923 to 1968. And one 1931 0-21 for good ,measure. And a great 1946 00-18. I like the small guitars.
Mr. Philips, the last time I left a message on one of your reviews, you responded back to me by saying that you were waiting for the 0-18 to be made available. Well, I am waiting for my closest guitar store, Elderly Instruments, to get one in again so I can try it, and then, probably buy it. There are so many guitars to choose from these days, but this 0-18 has such a sweet voice that I believe I have already made that decision. And so once again, I thank you for your ongoing great reviews. By the way, I have enjoyed the songs you play in your guitar demos very much, but the one that gets me time and time again is that wonderful fingerpicking song of yours called 'Riding Back From Boston'. I watched and listened to the UA-cam video you have of that song, and with the new feature that UA-cam has of being able to slow down songs, well, I still can't get that song, at least, not in its entirety. And I saw on your other website, Onemansguitar, that you did not have tabs at that time when someone asked you. Well, Mr. Philips, is there any chance of tabs to your song ever coming to fruition? I just thought I would ask, in case you ever come up with any. And if not, well, I will find a way to play it, although it won't come close to your excellent performance of that song. But anyway, thanks again, for leading me to another great Martin guitar, the 0-18.
And when I think that I sold one of these beauties for a meagre $180...50 years ago, it makes me weep! I bought it for $90 from a collector in financial trouble and thought I was doing well to double the price. Boo, hoo, hoo!
Great job Spoon! You bring the guitar to life. Sounded great, the tone and fullness for that size
Thank you kindly!
Class act sweet guitar🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Is the body deeper than the 00 and 000 18s or are my eyes playing tricks on me?
Yes it's slightly deeper

Oh no!
What is the action like, straight of the case?
Most Martins arrive with an action of 7/64" at the bass E 12th.
The headstock is not closer to the body, no more than a 00 or 000.
neffrocks No doubt Spoon is comparing to dreads .. i.e the 0 maxes on playability for those who would appreciate the smaller dimensions
What is the action like, straight of the case?
Martin aims for 3/32" at the bass E 12th fret, but will allow a slight tolerance higher or lower, and still call it "in spec".
