- What's up railfans I went to Columbus Ohio the capital of Ohio just to watch trains. I enjoyed my time in Columbus. we start off at east webber rd to check norfolk southrten Dayton district and csx Columbus line where we see a grain train I feel like Columbus is full of grain trains I believe I saw at least 4 empty ones. Then I move over to macaroni square in downtown where we watch a few trains go through a parking garage. Then I went to check out the valley crossing but I didn't get any action. I moved over to check out the kahnawa river railroad. I moved over to the hot spot cook road and check out a few trains.
Columbus is Ohio’s state capital. The city’s Scioto Mile is a string of parks on both sides of the Scioto River, with a huge interactive fountain and trails. On the west bank, the COSI science center offers hands-on exhibits and a planetarium. Downtown, the Columbus Museum of Art includes American and European paintings and a sculpture garden. The German Village area has restored brick houses built by 1800s settlers

Used to have all kinds of viaducts downtown there that the trains would wend their way through. Made for some great video. They may still exist but I've only seen Columbus through rail videos.
The Baltimore and Ohio used to run The National Limited through Columbus. It later became an Amtrak train.
They had a neat old over-the-tracks passenger depot there that was razed in the late 70s (suspiciously enough, on a weekend) even though a judge issued a stop order on it's demolition. Preservationalists were trying to save it. That big convention center now sits on the old Union Station site.
Nice video! - like the beginning where you captured some Columbus scenery.
Do you know that Columbus OH is currently the largest city in the USA without passenger rail service of any kind. Amtrak at one point had a train service from St. Louis MO to Jersey City NJ called the National Limited. Amtrak's National Limited route had a station stop at Columbus Union Station. Amtrak stopped running the National Limited trains by 1977. From there, no intercity passenger rail service exists in Columbus. Also, Columbus' transportation agency COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) proposed multiple times light rail and commuter rail services in the city. However, the efforts ceased by 2006, leaving the city entirely served by bus as its only mode of public transportation. However, in 2021, Amtrak is planning to return to Columbus by planning a rail service from Cincinnati to Cleveland OH as part of the American Jobs Plan.
Deserves more views!
I appreciate that, that means a lot to me!
Glad to see a brother out here enjoying trains

I agree, I loved it there!
Not the same grain train as Weber. This one would be headed up that way to join the Sandusky.
