We told you they have beautiful ballads.😁 AFAS Live is in Amsterdam, this show was early 2023, EPICA and Apocalyptica were touring together. Apocalyptica are the guys playing cello, currently 3 cellos and a drummer. Song is from the 2021 Omega album, lyrics by Simone, music by bassist Rob van der Loo. At Omega Alive, Simone performed this song acapella with a choir. Another from this show highly recommended to check out: "Code Of Life".
Can you imagine that in the last Top 200 list of the best female vocalists, published this year by the Rolling Stone Magazine, Simone is not even mentioned? Same with Floor Jansen, Asami, Sharon den Abel, Brittney Slayes etc. But Madonna or Billie Eilish are top choices. 😂😂😂 .
Rolling Stone is out of their mind. It’s like a while back when they gave the list of the hundred greatest guitarist of all time the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan was not in the top 10 I immediately dropped my subscription!!! UGHH
APOCALYPTICA's started to get famous when they "back in the day" started doing Metal Covers, like Metallia on their Cello's. From time to time they have had some quests Vocalists. And the more known they got the more collabs they started. I absolutely love them.
I have been with Epica since their first album. In my opinion, Simone has the single greatest choice in the history of music. Adele would be my second place vocalist. Thanks for such a great video. New subscriber for life. ❤
Queen Simone matches Tommy Karevick of Kamelot for the most perfect of vocal pitch u will ever see. Two things powerful in Epica (and I have to give nod to Within Temptation also), is that they believe in the beauty and enhanced musical experience for the fans in doing collabs with many great metal artists….even a recent EP of all collab songs with numerous metal artists (The Alchemy Project), and secondly the ultimate fusion of orchestra and choirs in past and in past EP (The Classical Conspiracy), and 10th anniversary show made to DVD (Retrospect). Now their biggest event ever in their 21 year history is about to go down in 4 sold out gigs with major choirs and orchestra in the Symphonic Synergy later this month in two at AFAS and then two in Mexico City December. Thankfully for those of us who cannot attend they just announced a paid live stream for the show on September 20 and I have my ticket! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Loved your reaction to the gods here in Epica that every so often descend from Mt. Olympus to bless us mortals with symphonic metal done proper. 🤘🏻
Same here. I also watched the livestream of their 20th anniversary show and it was fantastic. The quality of the video and audio was top notch. This is going to be a once in a decade show!
Tears............................
Beautiful, beautiful and beautiful
I think that this is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Simone's voice just soars.

Try "Epica - Once Upon a Nightmare Omega Alive" for another example of Simone shining like the angel she is!

Yeah, but then again.. Who gives a flying phuck abt Rolling Stone these days? A handful of boomers in the US?🤣🤘
Yes it's a shame

It's sad. And the whole worldwide music industry has to apologise in public for excluding the best voices in the world.
this is what happens when a bass player takes the reins and writes a song
Rob Vanderloo is the man yes 🤘🏻🤘🏻😎
I can still feel the basslines in my bones.

Not sure if you know Rammstein and their song "Seemann" but Apocalyptica did a cover of it with Nina Hagen. Nina is Special!!

Have you heard any of Simone’s solo album?🤘🎸
Not as of yet.
@@VocalCitizen She worked with Arjen on it. What I’ve heard of it is great!🤘🎸
@@VocalCitizen The duet with Alissa White-Gluz is very pleasing: Cradle to the Grave. Video by Patrick Ullaeus, music by Arjen Anthony Lucassen,
What does your daughter think of this?
She'd love it. I haven't played it for her yet.
