If you rewatch you'll see that Cole clocked Malcolm the second he saw him across the street. He was the ghost Cole was was running away from for sanctuary in the church.
No one hired him for Cole. He was just showed up, No adult interacts with Bruce Willis after the gunshot. Cole thought he was just another ghost following him at first
The mother didn't call the child psychiatrist. She couldn't afford him. Ghosts are drawn to cold because of his sixth sense. And just as he helped Cole. Cole helped him.
Yep. On rewatch you can see that he appeared on a bench watching Cole. Cole was running into the church to get away from yet another ghost who was coming to him.
The brilliance of the movie is that it makes you think that you have experienced all the twists and now the heroes are getting their happy ending. Then, boom, the ultimate twist hits you and you reexamine the whole movie. Naturally, it works so great because of the great cast.
Yes, the play and the car scenes are actually clever misdirections leading you to believe that only what’s left in the sequence of happy events is Malcolm reconciling with his wife. On rewatching the movie you realise that there were many clues to guess the twist but there were just as many distractions and misdirections that keep you away from it!
The movie works because the acting is all so good. You get so emotionally involved with all the characters that you don't think about the possibility of Malcolm being dead, even though the clues are all there.
Yasmina: "I wonder how he got in touch with Cole if his mother didn't hire him." ... I think Cole was already on Malcolm's client list before he got shot. The first thing he says in the church is that he missed their appointment.
1. This was the biggest cinematic plot twist since Darth Vader saying he was Luke’s father. 2. At 10:40, the answer to this question is that Cole mentions that ghosts find him. Ghosts are naturally drawn to him
Thanks, that's just what I was about to say. I think ghosts are drawn to him because they can sense he can see and speak to them. Same with the little girl; Cole said she came a long way to see him.
I also want to add that at the start when Cole sees Malcolm from across the street, he runs because he doesn’t know if he is a good ghost or a bad ghost; so he runs into a church. Also, when he arrives home and Malcolm is sitting there in the living room, Cole doesn’t talk to him until his mom is far away because doesn’t want her to hear him talking to someone.
"I was very, very close to crying." --- Unlike the many reactors who bawled their eyes out..... 😭😭😭 It's interesting to see people react differently to the same emotional scene. For some people, it takes a lot to make them cry openly. For others, it only takes a second!
I watched this as a kid, and for some reason, I was so desensitized to ghost stories that I NEVER even THOUGHT that this movie could be seen as horror. XD But yeah, it’s real good, and really the movie that gave Mr. Night the title of the “Twist movie guy”. XD
Really loved your reaction (both parts, dont' think I commented on the first). The movie is so well done that they leave you tons of clues as to the reveal, but it is extremely difficult to figure it out ahead of time, and then if you watch it again you have a whole new experience because you can see all the hints and clues the movie leaves.
Such as delightful reaction yet again. You make me smile every time. It's a great jumps, and I was just waiting for the final reaction which didn't disappoint. Well done again.
50 year old dude, and I cried watching your excerpts of the car scene, just remembering how intense it was. Everyone in this movie was absolutely brilliant.
Nate Bargatze: "We just assumed his wife wasn't talking to him for, like, a year and a half. That was more believable to us. People are like, did they show him getting killed? Yeah. Hundred percent. They showed the guy shoot him. But it never once occurred to us. We were just like 'phew, I know what this guy is going through.'"
Never knew until recently that Vincent Gray was played by Donnie Wahlberg of Blue Bloods fame, as it looks nothing like him. Apparently he starved himself and didn’t shower for weeks on end so he looked disheveled and emaciated for his part, losing over 40 pounds. It put him in a very dark place mentally, but it worked. Amazing acting all around.
So my understanding of how he came be Cole's doctor is that he WAS on Malcom's client/patient list, but he hadn't seen him-and never would "in person" because he died. Or maybe he WAS drawn to Cole because Cole was so much like Vincent and he needed to resolve that part of his life.
Yeah... the twist. When you go back you realize there are scenes with the ghosts and other people... but only cole every actually interacts with any of them.
Loved your The Sixth Sense reaction! Your gasp at the BIG reveal was awesome. As for The Exorcist, it’s more disturbing than scary. However, it’s the kind of disturbing that sticks with you loooong after watching your first time.
The thing that Cole said about ghosts, that they "only see what they want to see", well, that's because that is how people work, dead or alive. When we saw Malcolm walking around and doing stuff, we saw what we wanted to see, that he hadn't died when he was shot. But all the clues were there, right from the beginning. Like the scene with Cole's mom, she wasn't saying anything as Cole walked in the door, didn't say a word, and was looking at the chair, like the middle of the chair. Which would be a really weird thing to do, look right at someone's stomach as they're sitting there. And all the other scenes, we only saw what we wanted to see, we didn't want Malcolm to be dead. And the scene in the restaurant, why didn't the waiter offer him a menu and get him a drink, no one said anything to Malcolm. Did we just assume it was a really good restaurant, good enough to ask someone to marry you in, but the service is terrible? That's just silly. And it also makes sense that Cole is running for his life as Malcolm is following him when we first see Cole, like he's running and asking himself "What the hell does this ghost want!? Why is he following me! Leave me alone!"
The scene in the car gets me every time, such good acting! This is my kind of scary movie too! I wonder if you noticed the use of the color red in the movie? Rating your reaction: 5 out of 5 stars!
Another great suspense-rather-than-horror movie is The Others starring another Aussie actor, Nicole Kidman. You should definitely add that to your list.
Fun reaction. Thank you! If you ever start doing more movies and less series, I'll subscribe. By the way, "The Exorcist" is more scary than this. If you're very religious and believe in that sort of thing, it will be even scarier. Sorry, but forewarned is forearmed.
I despise horror movies, and I will never watch a reaction to them; hence, October is kind of barren for me and reactions. The only other movies that I would watch that might qualify as horror are 'Tremors' and 'The Shining', but they are horror light.
1. Haley Joel Osment played Forrestt Gump Jr, in "AI", Pay it forward" and absolutely kills in this.🤩 2. I first knew when he met his wife when she was morning him alone at the anniversary meal. Only one place setting. 3. I watched my now ex to see when she got it but she never picked it up until the reveal. 4. They help each other. 5. Cole knew he wouldn't see Malcolm again. 6. Cole to Malcolm, "How can you help me, if you don't believe me?" "Some magic's real". 7. A fun movie for review of a Bruce Willis is, "The Last Boy Scout". HINT HINT 8. Missing you Bruce.😢
yea the ending was a banger and I loved when he said, "you were never second."
If you rewatch you'll see that Cole clocked Malcolm the second he saw him across the street. He was the ghost Cole was was running away from for sanctuary in the church.
Cole is looking away, showing some fear when Malcom walks up to him in the church.
No one hired him for Cole. He was just showed up, No adult interacts with Bruce Willis after the gunshot. Cole thought he was just another ghost following him at first
The ghosts are somehow drawn to Cole, but they don't realize why.
The mother didn't call the child psychiatrist. She couldn't afford him. Ghosts are drawn to cold because of his sixth sense. And just as he helped Cole. Cole helped him.
"I wonder how he got in touch with Cole if his mother didn't hire him."
Ghosts go to Cole. They seek him out.
Yep. On rewatch you can see that he appeared on a bench watching Cole. Cole was running into the church to get away from yet another ghost who was coming to him.

The most amazing part about the "Sixth Sense" is that after 25 years the plot twist hasn't been spoiled for most people.
Everyone knows the "I see dead people" scene and nobody feels the need to know any more.
The movie works because the acting is all so good. You get so emotionally involved with all the characters that you don't think about the possibility of Malcolm being dead, even though the clues are all there.

Haley Joel Osment is still a great actor btw. Among other things, he now plays JD Vance in Jimmy Kimmel Live.
This movie is a few love stories. That's the biggest twist.
I love that Cole tells Malcolm that stories need a twist. Ha ha
A 15 minute reaction does not do this movie justice! :-(
"Great acting, I almost cried."
Seriously that was fun seeing the rug pulled out from under you during the twist.
Really loved your reaction (both parts, dont' think I commented on the first). Great reaction, everyone was shocked by the twist.
Such as delightful reaction yet again. You make me smile every time. It's a great jumps, and I was just waiting for the final reaction which didn't disappoint. Well done again.
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. What a plot twist!!!
Your lightbulb moment was a wonder to behold!
50 year old dude, and I cried watching your excerpts of the car scene, just remembering how intense it was. Everyone in this movie was absolutely brilliant.
The first time you see that ending it feels like the floor drops out from under you!
"I didn't think this movie would affect me so much" Honey, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Welcome to the M Knight Shyamalan twist.
Check out one of his other movies The Village (2004)

The editing lost some of the best parts, but it's always good to find someone who doesn't know the ending.
You only get to watch this movie once! Every other time is just thinking about what you already know.

Shymalan referenced the fact that the mom of the dead girl had a condition
' Munchausen syndrome by proxy'
Clever ...
Yeah... the twist.
When you go back you realize there are scenes with the ghosts and other people... but only cole every actually interacts with any of them.
So good. That twist at the time was out of left field. Fun seeing you react to it and not expecting. :) And the car scene. That still gets to me.
Can't wait for the next classic movie now.
A classic ghost story: *The Haunting* ( 1963, a DIFFERENT story than the Netflix show )
This was such a FANTASTIC reaction to one of the best movies of all time- a classic! I've become a big fan of yours. 10 out of 10 for your reaction!
Watch “Signs”! ASAP!!!
great reaction. If you want to see another great performance by Haley Joel Osment watch "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" from 2001
13:08 Mexico in Breaking Bad 🤣
Having watched your reaction to this, I'm willing to bet that if you watch "The Princess Bride", it'll become your favourite film.
As you wiiiiiiish!!!
i LOVE the princess bride!
A perfect film.
Loved your The Sixth Sense reaction! Your gasp at the BIG reveal was awesome. As for The Exorcist, it’s more disturbing than scary. However, it’s the kind of disturbing that sticks with you loooong after watching your first time.
I certainly did not.
Great movie, great reaction!

0:36 Probably teleportation, translucence, walking around with fatal injuries, other supernatural abilities...
I love your commentary makes it truly original keep being you

EXCELLENT REACTION! 😁 you really brought this movie back to life 👍☺
Oh dear me. So sad to hear.

8:40 this scene is so great
9:30 glad you didn’t already know the ending
Enjoyed your reaction
Great choice for Spooktober! Geek out and read and watch Batman: The Long Halloween. Guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.
A little twisty. Even if you M Night was known for twists, you might have thought the twist was the kid helping the ghosts
It's thought that Cole may have known the Dr was a ghost the whole time.
He sees dead people, why do you think he was running to the church at the beginning.
Sadly Toni Collette's brilliant performance was overshadowed by the legendary performance by Haley Joel Osment.
If you liked this, you will love"The Others" starring Nicole kidman Highly recommended.
I'm only here for the plot twist reaction.
Checkout "a tale of two sisters " korean flick

10:55 Beware the bright light, you creature of the night. :)
Sleepaway Camp had a better ending.
Uuounh girl killed by her mom. Actress grew up ti ne main character in series THE OC
You cut it down to a little more than 15 minutes?
Now watch The Others. With Nicole Kidman.

You should watch *Arachnophobia,* similar in feel to *Tremors* imo.
@@jowbloe3673 I've seen it.
