Do you think that it’ll work good enough for a regular working DJ or I should go for another unit? I’m currently using a Pioneer DDJ-SR2 which I’m thinking to replace with something newer and better.
How do the EQ knobs and buttons feel? I remember the ones of the Prime 4+ and Prime 4 to be a bit inaccurate and hard to trigger as well as the knobs being a little aggressive -compared to pioneer gear. You can get the Live 4 for around 1100 Euros in Europe right now, which is what I believe a pretty good price.
I mean I have my XDJ-AZ, but I got this for random events, like bringing 2x Wave-eights and this to the pier or down the beach. Not only more portable and has everything I need for a small event like that, but I can hook up lights to it. I wish the RX3 would be a 4 channel (without laptop), and would have light control. It would be the perfect "portable" professional system to small events.
I've been using mixstream pro heavy for 1yr and I wanted to upgrade to a prime 2 but it's discontinued. The SC Live4 is a better version of the Prime 2. Love it!
I've had this thing for a bit now. I hate the small screen and the way you make playlists. Mostly because I don't think I fully understand it correctly. I also don't like the way the pads react or the smoothness of the jogwheels, These are too smooth, but Aside from that, I love everything about this device and it's my "daily driver". It reacts fast, is easy to play, lightweight, portable and the effects are good too and the speakers are loud oh and the unit is reliable!
Bad vision-haver here. I find the screen size to be fine honestly. If you are used to having your eyes glued to the waveform on your laptop then it might be a challenge. That used to be me as well lol. But in the few months I’ve had the unit I have gotten a lot better as beatmatching by ear and relying on the waveform a lot less. The screen is a serviceable size IMO and I believe it’s smaller size has inadvertently made me a better dj.
You say you can’t plug in a record player, why not? Why couldn’t you plug it into one of the mic inputs and play a record through it.. you may not have the onboard EQ available on it, but you could play it, and even run it through something like a Roland SP 404 mk2 for effects. I’m just asking, I’m not a DJ, I’m an EMCEE and Hip Hop Producer, but it would seem like I could plug a turn table in, also I have a Audio Technica AT-LP120-USB, could that be plugged into the USB and played that way too? Just wondering, to know my options…I personally wouldn’t NEED to be able to add my direct drive turntable, but I was trying to see if it is at all possible, or is it impossible like you say here. Thank you
@@digitaldjtips yeah, that is where the Prime would shine. for me, the SC LIVE 4 is perfect in every way for what I want and need. the only thing I would like to have is the ability to hook up my physical vinyl turntable just to play songs through on occasion. Not a necessity, but just a bonus, so i think I will opt for the SC LIVE 4. Still doing some reseasch first, but I'm leaning towards that. Thank you for the response, I love your channel, I have learned a lot so far, and plan to learn a lot more. Thank You.
in the product description it says it is compatible with the denon LC6000, would that be plugged straight into the USB ports on the back or is it only usable on serato? if it can be plugged into the back of the deck and used through engine dj os, can I use a USB hub on the ports in the back so I can also hook up my soundswitch dmx interface and a USB drive all at once?
hi .. i have a question .. which one is better for party djing..this one or pioneer xdj RR ? i want to buy one of them but i dont know which one is more qualify?
There are lots of arguments for and against using DJ software. You can always buy your software if you don't want to subscribe, although you're right - subscription is the way it seems to be going.
@@blablablablabittybla561 Better *you* check how the Serato licensing actually works. Pro hint: Even old gear like the SX still works flawlessly. Don't spread missinformation. Cheers.
@@BlueHawk80, not sure I’m spreading misinformation. Don’t spin my question. I am looking forward in time. If they move to 100% subscription, do you think old gear will be grandfathered in? It is more likely that it will be unsupported or that you will have to pay a monthly subscription for the same software for which you already paid. The trend is towards 100% subscription.
@@digitaldjtipsbelieve it or not, I’ve never even been tempted to buy anything on Black Friday. I’ve never needed or wanting anything. You can use any controller in a club. This is not designed for that though, the Prime 4 is the one designed for that (better build, better inputs/outputs etc).
@@digitaldjtips thanks I see. What if I Buy one secondhand.....and suppose it needs updates...can I still update The Prime 2? Thank you for your response and sorry for my bad English.
Hey Phil I'm a complete novice and never been near a deck in my life. I've always wanted to learn to dj and at 56 and now retired I find that I have the time to really focus on getting to grips with the basics and hopefully progress as I go. I've been watching all your videos and alot of others and I'm torn between getting the Denon SC Live 4 and the Numark Mixstream Pro Go. What one do you think would suit a total beginner best? Or any other controller that you think maybe better to start out with. Price is not important. Thank you in advance.
Between these two, decide if you want two or four channels (decks) which will make your choice for you. Either has more than you could ever need as a beginner! That said, if you don't mind DJing with a laptop, a DDJ-FLX4 is the beginner controller we usually recommend.
@@digitaldjtips Thanks Phil. I'd like to be able to learn via standalone rather than a laptop as not sure mine is up to the job. I also don't own a decent pair of speakers, hence why I was leaning towards the Live 4 or the Pro Go. I like that they are both standalone with Built in speakers. I think the pro go with it's batteries and being more portable would be my best option. Ideally I'd of liked 4 channels, but 2 would be enough for a beginner I think. Thanks for all your help. Oh one other thing. Does your course cover any lessons using the Pro Go?
I have a question if anyone would be so kind to give me some advice. I am currently DJing on a Numark NS7ii and have been for a number of years. Numark/Serato are no longer providing support for the NS7ii and Ican no longer use my MacBook with it without downgrading the OS, which would be a massive pain. I'm wondering if this would be the logical choice when it comes to a replacement for it? It seems like it has all the same functionality except for losing small things like the strip search and touch effects but with the obvious addition of the standalone screen and dedicated OS. Would love to hear some thoughts as I'm very confused.
@@digitaldjtips I'm not too bothered about the motorised platters if I'm honest. I went from vinyl decks to an ns7 to and ns7ii purely because of the familiarity but don't (can't) scratch, so losing that definitely isn't a deal breaker. I mostly mix dnb these days.
Can I simply put normal mp3 songs on to a usb stick, insert in to Denon sc live 4, browse and mix the tracks? I ask because lots of people say this doesn’t work. They say that the sc live 4 can NOT read most songs. I don’t have laptop to make playlist via Denon software. What’s the deal? Can I load normal mp3 on usb stick, without it messing up and let me play ALL songs? I’d really appreciate if someone can help me. Maybe other users did something wrong?
@@digitaldjtips so do you think others had a defective unit? 1 reviewer on Amazon shows pic of most files in red and not able to play them. Says it works flawlessly for streaming but putting songs on usb just didn’t really work. You say it’s the wrong way to use it? Do you mean I should use pc and engine dj to put songs into it? Or simply I should be streaming my songs to mix? I just want an all in 1 dj system that I can put mp3 on usb and mix. The simplicity. If amazon music had most of the songs I’m into, I’d just use that but I’m into certain music that Amazon only have small amount.
I have tried to connect with Djay Pro 2 from my Mac, it recognises the Device and I can play music but the controls don't work, am I doing something wrong?
So I got two questions, since you said that the jog wheels are the same as the Prime 4, is back spinning on these the same as Prime 4 or is there a bit more resistance and my second question, I am planning on buying a DDJ 1000 SRT, in your opinion, should I save and buy the DDJ or spend a bit extra and go for the Denon SC Live 4?
The jogs are similar to the Prime 4. As far as comparing it to the DDJ1000SRT, one is a controller, the other a standalone DJ system, so that should be the thing that helps you decide.
@@digitaldjtips In this case, is there a vocal processor that's good value for the bucks you'd recommend? Not having a simple delay or reverb is pathetic but I won't buy a pro gear when I don't need one. I don't intend to play big clubs anymore.
I ve this and a Prime 4+ … honestly between the two there is a universe in terms of Sound , reactivity, and quality buildt but the quality is good no problem.. its like a “Mini Consolle “ all in One . Its Quite Big , nice , the only things I m disappoint its a 7 “ Touch screen
@@digitaldjtips its my personal opinion because in 2023 this screen is old but .. there’s an amount of stuff in engine its a no sense. I think Denon Made a complete “xdj rx2” whit 4 channel . I’ ve a Prime 4 + too but I use that monster for a different situation.
Can I plug 1 or 2 vinyl turntables in to the Denon sc Live 4? I want to mix vinyl and digital. I was told that the Denon prime 4 plus can connect vinyl turntables but It’s prime 4 plus is £1999 Sc live 4 £1000 I’d rather save £1000 IF the Denon sc live 4 can connect 1 or 2 turntables And are the built in speakers decent enough for bedroom? I actually can’t play loud music so this Denon sc live 4 with built in speakers, may be perfect for me, as long as I can plug in vinyl turntables. I’d be incredibly happy if someone can give me an answer. Thanks in advance.
@@digitaldjtips ok thanks. I have 1 more question. I first bought belt drive turntables, to learn, years ago. I quickly bought technics 1210 direct drive and they blew me away. Hope you have an answer, thanks.
I used to own the prime4 and pioneer xz and for me if you say this is more plastic and small screen is mean that this controller is supposed to cost about $850 my opinion

Hi Phil, interesting you mentioning the DSP in "can" speakers and them not being suitable for DJing for latency. I have a Denon Prime Go and really want to look into an entirely battery operated setup for a small park gig. Do you have an immediate recommendation or it is something that I need to research into a bit?
In the live chat, this was asked: "Dan Low #ask Hi Phil, could you please confirm whether you can hear the filter Sweep FX in your headphones when listening to a cued song? I hate how I can't hear the filter in the headphones on my Prime Go" Same question for me, I really miss pre-fader FX on my Prime GO. Is this standard or an option on the SC Live 4?
You say it’s not possible to plug in Denon cd controller sc6000? I might have the name wrong but others say you can plug in 2 Denon controller to sc live 4 via the 2 USB ports. What’s the deal?
Very good video, im doubting with numark pro go and SC live 2, i wanna a full portable stuff, and add a external battery to the SC live 2, but im wondering if Its worth the price diference between numark go and SC live 2, because only a lot of more fx, little bit better sound at own speakers, and little bit better material quality construction between this two? And pro go IS full portable but maybe IS a toy. Because Both are plastic right? So im in this doubt, i Will apreciate a full comparision, because numark is the lowest line of inmusic but this sc live 2 i dont know if IS worth It at all. Im talking by second hand buy. Really thanks.
Im intrested on the sc live 2 or the pioneer xdj rr ,in my opionion i would take the sc live 2 but someone tells that the sc live 2 has latency issues, it is true?
So I’ve got vinyl decks that I hardly use as into techno now and basically need a new record collection. I’m looking at this to jump into the future and have unlimited tunes. Don’t understand why not suitable for doing a party/rave/play in a bar? Surely just connect to big speakers?

I mean they do all the same. I sold my xdj rx1and im about buying denon because stream services. Hope u can help me..
I like it and i think the price is actually right for what you get. Dont want to give up my DDJ-1000 as i've not had it long enough to warrant changing...... but it ticks a lot of boxes and I really like the sound of Engine. They are doing great things with it. Not sure how the jogs would compare to the 1000 either (i have grown to love them, took some getting used to though!)
Hi Phil! I'm sorry my english is not good..I'm a former professional dj and now a hobbyist- bedroom dj, I'm thinking very seriously about my next dj controller and I'm between: 1) ddj -1000 (when and if it will be available within 2-3 months) 2) Denon sc live 4 3) on Native's new flagship controller for traktor if released within 2-3 months. 4) I'm also thinking about the Denon prime 4, I've always liked it but it's too expensive for me. and I would very much like your opinion on a few questions: 1) here in Greece the prime 4 costs €2,500, the dj sc live 4 €1,600 so the money difference is HUGE! 900 € how expensive is the prime. is this difference worth it? since I'm a hobbyist. 2) I really think the sc live 4 is my first choice, but I'm worried about the build quality, how do you feel? 3) you didn't mention at all about the sound card of live 4, how does it sound, is the sound quality and loud on the master and on the headphones? 4) ddj-1000 and sc live 4 have exactly the same price here in Greece, I believe that live 4 is more value for money and that you buy more things for the same price, what is your opinion? and which of the two do you think has a better sound card since you have worked with both. 5) because live 4 has a small screen, can we work with engine dj via laptop? Thank you very much in advance, I sincerely appreciate your work, my respect, with love from Greece.
The build quality is fine, but it is "semi-pro", not pro. Sound card is fine, and the headphones are loud enough. No, you can't use Engine DJ on a laptop for DJing, but remember this unlocks Serato too, which you can.
Hi Phil . Been following you for a while on UA-cam. New to djing . Bought Numark pro last month after I watched your review about it but I think I have somewhat hit the wall with that so I want to upgrade it to this Sc live 4 . Would you recommend me to this in such a short time or stay with numark mixstream pro for now . I find it's lacking a lot of critical functions in it. Keep up the good work. Cheers mate .
Hey Phil. If i want to buy this controller for club and bar use,do you think that it can do the job well as the flx10 or other controllers at the price of 1500$ (ddj 1000srt for example)?
@digitaldjtips #ask As someone who uses the pads to the point they r worn to the nub because i like to live remix using vdj stems, loops, and pre saved samples , ive heard that the pads are more of a hard press than say the pioneer pads that really just require ia soft tap as upposed to A FULL PRESS, do you think the pads for someone using them in that compacity may find it annoying or not have as much ease of use for continual and repeated quick pad taps? any feedback on that or anyone thats been using this new unit in that respect that can give feedback id really appreciate your opnion. -E
Never would I ever expect anyone to be apologizing about how the prime 4 doesn’t have built in speakers 🤦♂️ these dj companies need to stop pandering to these newbies who leave bad reviews because they didn’t know their Ddj DDJ-400 requires external wired speakers. DO YOUR RESEARCH
Flip that around and what Denon DJ has done here is realise that nowadays, people DO want it "all in one box". With this, you get the speakers, and the music via streaming etc, even control of your home smart lights, for a great experience as soon as you start. Nothing wrong with that (although you're right, that doesn't mean all DJ gear now HAS to be the same).
Would you recommend any standalone live sampler to go along with the SC live 4? I feel it fits my needs perfectly aside from the multiple channel fx and sampler.
@@digitaldjtips hell yeah. Such quick response!! Thank you!! What is your opinion on the Native instruments maschine+? Or would this not achieve what I’d need it to?
I would say, yes if you have the money: - 4 Channels (also handy as backup) - Tilted Screen and bigger rotary knob - Bigger and better speakers - Much better and more effects - Serato DJ Pro Unlock - 8 Pads with RGB and Slicer - Full size Pitchfader with LED - Jogwheel with Display - Beat Jump and Loop Move - Aux and second Mic - Booth Out - Slip Mode, Censor and Reverse - Better design
Hey there, can you play tracks on the SC Live 4 directly from USB without using Engine Software? And if so, how does the screen look, does it has the same views, or is the screenview limited? Thanks in advance for your reply! Grtz Jerome
I've had the SC4 only two days but work, girlfriend has restricted my time using it. However, in the time I have played with it, I think the value is great for what you get. I have no aspirations to be a gigging DJ so suits my use perfectly. My VCI-380 is now 10 years old, still works and I will keep it 'cos it is solid and a 'classic'. The SC4 is for a certain kind of person and that is me 😁 Just wish it had Akai type pads but I will get used to the clcik pads. Speakerwise, they are plenty loud enough and listenable. one thing not mentioned; if you analyse tracks on your computer you can access them over wifi.If doing a gig just copy them onto a USB or SD card and you're ready to go.

The screen is the thing that I dislike the most, too - just too small for older eyes!
I mix at a club every week do you think this model will fit my needs or should I save for a prime 4?
Save for Prime 4+
Bad vision-haver here. I find the screen size to be fine honestly. If you are used to having your eyes glued to the waveform on your laptop then it might be a challenge.
That used to be me as well lol. But in the few months I’ve had the unit I have gotten a lot better as beatmatching by ear and relying on the waveform a lot less.
The screen is a serviceable size IMO and I believe it’s smaller size has inadvertently made me a better dj.
Great that you've tuned "my" negative into "your" positive!
Thank you
You could in theory, but it'd be a hack. Much better to go for a DJ unit with a phono preamp in it.
Thank You.
I bought my yesterday and it coming Friday please I have a question, Can I use samples and drums on it?
There is no sampler on this unit.
With 3.10 and up you have a sampleplayer
in the product description it says it is compatible with the denon LC6000, would that be plugged straight into the USB ports on the back or is it only usable on serato? if it can be plugged into the back of the deck and used through engine dj os, can I use a USB hub on the ports in the back so I can also hook up my soundswitch dmx interface and a USB drive all at once?
Not sure Alex. We haven't tested with the LC6000 yet.
@@digitaldjtips please try if you can, would be a really cool and surprisingly cheap full 4 deck standalone setup
hi .. i have a question .. which one is better for party djing..this one or pioneer xdj RR ? i want to buy one of them but i dont know which one is more qualify?
Either would be fine
Why would you want serato? I’m looking for a standalone because I don’t want to pay a subscription to use my equipment.
There are lots of arguments for and against using DJ software. You can always buy your software if you don't want to subscribe, although you're right - subscription is the way it seems to be going.
It's a free unlock, my friend. Be happy or simply ignore it. Having flexibility/choices is good :)
@@BlueHawk80 , for now. Check back in 6 months when they lock you out of your rig.
Hi.
Can you play streaming services on say 2 decks, and MP3 files on the other 2, just in case of wifi drop?
Thanks.
It will switch from your USB to various streaming services automatically
With the latest update if you have your computer it can Bluetooth to your computer and play without having to hook up anything
is there a best time of year to buy dj equipment? Obviously black Friday is great, but is there another time of year when buying is best?
You said it, luckily not long to wait
@@digitaldjtipsbelieve it or not, I’ve never even been tempted to buy anything on Black Friday. I’ve never needed or wanting anything.
I’m so tempted to wait to buy my all in 1 controller or regular controller , this November for Black Friday.
Although if I wait, what I want probably won’t be discounted 😂
Phil would you buy this over the Rev7 I'm trying to make a decision here. This is a great gear definitely game changer for me but now I'm split between Rev7 or this
Do you want a stand-alone system or a laptop system? The two you mention are very different.
Sir, if I connect a CDJ on aux input, it's possible to use the fader to mix it in channel ?
No, the aux does not go through the mixer

Hi, I hope you can help. Why when I rewind / pull up on my denon sc live, I cannot play the track from the beginning of the track / cue point. I press cue and it starts the track from where I pulled the track from?
same here. Still can't work this out but, I've had mine only two days.
@@alicksasylum I've had mine 2 months and can't work it out. Really bugging me when I go to play out and record mixes. If you find a way please let me know!

just ordered......to replace ddj 400 rekordbox....i hope i can manage the display, which is only showing track name without artist name in 2 wave horizontal ....?? why can it not be used in a club ? don't understand your statement
You can use any controller in a club. This is not designed for that though, the Prime 4 is the one designed for that (better build, better inputs/outputs etc).
@@digitaldjtips thanks I see. The Genre I am playing is not that into loops, cues, etc. I only bought it for sync/key sync how it's placed, for being standalone, engine fx helping with transitions between tracks who are not in the same bpm tempo......maybe you could do a engine special tutorial when mixing diff. bpms and genre. cheers!
i used to mix on vinyl decks when i was a teen and wanna start again do you think this would be a good setup
Yes
Is there a maximum hard drive size this will take via usb or the card slot?
Not sure
So do3s Amazon work on the prime 4 plus Denon ?
Hi Guys , Your Tutorials are really helpful to me. I have a question, I was so excited about the prime 2 but now they got it from the market and you can't buy is anymore in holland. What if I Buy one secondhand.....and suppose it needs updates...can I still update The Prime 2? Thank you for your response and sorry for my bad English.
Yes, it should still receive updates ok.
would you recommend me to still buy a secondhand Prime 2 ? instead of the SC Live 4 for example? @@digitaldjtips
Denon put out a trailer and said that the sc live 4 is compatible with a pair of lc6000s.
Yes, happily we were wrong there
Between a Denon sc live 4 and a Denon Prime go, which would be your choice and why? Thank you.
Personally Prime Go, but that’s because I like DJing in strange places and when on the move, and it is smaller.
And regarding screen quality functions, screen size and sound quality?
You'd also lose the motorised platters? The Rane One would be the more obvious replacement.
Firmware update 3.10 and up has Touch FX (on touchscreen)
So is there no way to use that one aux in to connect a turntable with my digital vinyl and serato pick it up?
No
Can I simply put normal mp3 songs on to a usb stick, insert in to Denon sc live 4, browse and mix the tracks?
I ask because lots of people say this doesn’t work. They say that the sc live 4 can NOT read most songs.
I don’t have laptop to make playlist via Denon software.
What’s the deal? Can I load normal mp3 on usb stick, without it messing up and let me play ALL songs?
I’d really appreciate if someone can help me. Maybe other users did something wrong?
Yes you can, it will analyse them for you - not the correct way of using it though.
At 39:27 you have the Speaker volume knob at less than halfway. So that's probably not even close to as loud as they go, as you say :p
If we turned the music up any louder than we already have it in this studio in the daytime, we'd have a queue of irate people at our door! 🤣
I have tried to connect with Djay Pro 2 from my Mac, it recognises the Device and I can play music but the controls don't work, am I doing something wrong?
You probably need to map the software to the controls.
Hello and congratulations for the video, I ask you if it has the SAMPLER function on the pads and how to activate it. Thank you
You have to push the roll button 2 times to use the pads as sampler
wit h the later updates there is a sampleplayer , you even can replace samples with your own
So I got two questions, since you said that the jog wheels are the same as the Prime 4, is back spinning on these the same as Prime 4 or is there a bit more resistance and my second question, I am planning on buying a DDJ 1000 SRT, in your opinion, should I save and buy the DDJ or spend a bit extra and go for the Denon SC Live 4?
The jogs are similar to the Prime 4. As far as comparing it to the DDJ1000SRT, one is a controller, the other a standalone DJ system, so that should be the thing that helps you decide.
@@digitaldjtips awesome, thank you!

How to access?
I wonder when they're gonna introduce some (at least basic) effects on mic inputs. This is crucial if you asked me. Other than that I quite like it.
Not on this unit, it’s on the more pro (Denon DJ) units
@@digitaldjtips In this case, is there a vocal processor that's good value for the bucks you'd recommend? Not having a simple delay or reverb is pathetic but I won't buy a pro gear when I don't need one. I don't intend to play big clubs anymore.

I ve this and a Prime 4+ … honestly between the two there is a universe in terms of Sound , reactivity, and quality buildt but the quality is good no problem.. its like a “Mini Consolle “ all in One . Its Quite Big , nice , the only things I m disappoint its a 7 “ Touch screen
Agreed, that screen is the biggest disappointment
@@digitaldjtips its my personal opinion because in 2023 this screen is old but .. there’s an amount of stuff in engine its a no sense. I think Denon Made a complete “xdj rx2” whit 4 channel . I’ ve a Prime 4 + too but I use that monster for a different situation.
Could u play 4 songs at the same time
Yes
Hi Phil, what you will choose between the sc live 4 or a pioneer xdj rr??? because of the same price I'm choosing between these two
Sc live 4
I’m in the same boat. The only reason that I’m leaning towards SC is the streaming capabilities.
The Pioneer XDJ-RR has no FX ,only 4 sweep fx
And the RR has bad processing
and the RR has limited touchscreen
So there’s no Ethernet for Ableton link. How would I keep the sp404 in sync with the sc live 4?
WiFi
Can I plug 1 or 2 vinyl turntables in to the Denon sc Live 4? I want to mix vinyl and digital. I was told that the Denon prime 4 plus can connect vinyl turntables but
It’s prime 4 plus is £1999
Sc live 4 £1000
I’d rather save £1000 IF the Denon sc live 4 can connect 1 or 2 turntables
And are the built in speakers decent enough for bedroom? I actually can’t play loud music so this Denon sc live 4 with built in speakers, may be perfect for me, as long as I can plug in vinyl turntables.
I’d be incredibly happy if someone can give me an answer. Thanks in advance.
No, you cannot plug external turntables into this, it is "software only".
@@digitaldjtips ok thanks. I have 1 more question. I first bought belt drive turntables, to learn, years ago. I quickly bought technics 1210 direct drive and they blew me away. I could never go back to belt drive.
My question is, is the Denon sc live 4 direct drive? Belt drive? Or something else? I absolutely can’t do anything other then direct. Belt is absolutely horrible. Hope you have an answer, thanks.
can you save cue points/buttons while streaming on tidal or other streaming services? are they still there after you turn off and on the unit?
You can, as long as you have a memory card plugged in to the unit.
@@digitaldjtips thank you lad. Follow-up question. Can you import the serato cues to the stand alone mode?
Great vid!. Does it have a dedicated stereo mono switch?
No
@@digitaldjtips Thanks
I used to own the prime4 and pioneer xz and for me if you say this is more plastic and small screen is mean that this controller is supposed to cost about $850 my opinion
Well, the tech inside is the same, and a full computer doesn't come cheap.
Are we able to record a DJ set with this controller?
Yes, as long as you are not using streaming services.
Are you able to load rekordbox folders via USB on this?? I'm trying to find the best bang for my buck, as well as convenience for switching from a standalone for practice at home to cdjs at shows! Thank you for all of your content! Been reading through your website & checking out your videos! Much love, Phil!
Yes, the Engine laptop software reads Rekordbox collections which is the best way to prep then for Engine.

If me and a mate both have separate tidal accounts (playlists etc) can I play my tidal account on 2 decks and he has the other 2 decks on his tidal account
Good question, but no, it isn't.
Is there a hack to get samplers on the unit?
No need to hack they just added one in Engine DJ 3.0.

We think you'd grow to love the speakers on this, probably our favourite feature!
What is the track ID at 14.00?
Hi Phil! I'm sorry my english is not good..I'm a former professional dj and now a hobbyist- bedroom dj, I'm thinking very seriously about my next dj controller and I'm between:
1) ddj -1000 (when and if it will be available within 2-3 months)
2) Denon sc live 4
3) on Native's new flagship controller for traktor if released within 2-3 months.
4) I'm also thinking about the Denon prime 4, I've always liked it but it's too expensive for me.
and I would very much like your opinion on a few questions:
1) here in Greece the prime 4 costs €2,500, the dj sc live 4 €1,600 so the money difference is HUGE!

Would you recommend me to this in such a short time or stay with numark mixstream pro for now . I find it's lacking a lot of critical functions in it. Keep up the good work. Cheers mate .
For me, if you're a beginner you have years'-worth of learning to do no mater what you own, and the Numark is fine for now.
Hey Phil. If i want to buy this controller for club and bar use,do you think that it can do the job well as the flx10 or other controllers at the price of 1500$ (ddj 1000srt for example)?
Yes, but Prime 4 is better for pro use.
@digitaldjtips #ask As someone who uses the pads to the point they r worn to the nub because i like to live remix using vdj stems, loops, and pre saved samples , ive heard that the pads are more of a hard press than say the pioneer pads that really just require ia soft tap as upposed to A FULL PRESS, do you think the pads for someone using them in that compacity may find it annoying or not have as much ease of use for continual and repeated quick pad taps?
any feedback on that or anyone thats been using this new unit in that respect that can give feedback id really appreciate your opnion.

you should definitely try them first, not least because they're quite small.

Hey there, can you play tracks on the SC Live 4 directly from USB without using Engine Software? And if so, how does the screen look, does it has the same views, or is the screenview limited? Thanks in advance for your reply! Grtz Jerome
Yes, it will analyse them "on the fly"
They only just added the "wifi access" feature - and yeah, it's great. And you're right, the VCI-380 is indeed a classic (I once owned the VCI-300).
