Nice setup. Simple and effective. I did flagpole knob today via the switzer lake trail. It was absolutely terrifying because it was so icy. But even dry knowing that you can make it in the cross trek is awesome. My setup is ridiculously simple too Best way to do it.
@@xtrekadventure8225 it was amazingly beautiful when I wasn’t stressed out about sliding off the edge. There were a few spots where all four wheels were on pure ice with nothing to break your fall off the edge. The GX did incredibly, my only issue was mental lol.
How were those DX4 wheels? I've been looking for reviews on them but can't find any. Curious on the durability of them as they are half the price of the similar Method wheels. Also can't find the weight of them.
Manual trans?...A MUST for fun driving!......Mine is a '22 with the 6 speed, and it's still stock with the exception of LED h/lights and roof rack, but I'm loving this little toy.
hey man, you should make some more videos with exhaust clips and reviews. im looking to get the same 5'' nameless exhaust for my 2023 creosstrek but I can't seem to find anything out there.
I see a lot of crosstrek mods with the tire mount set up as you have and have always wondered about 1 thing, something no one ever mentions on their vids. How does it affect the back up camera with the tire in the way?? I have an 18 trek and want to do a similar tire mount mod.
@@donewhiskey Funny you should ask, I just recently took it off to clean. It is super nice to have easy access to the trunk and for the backup camera to work. But, after camping in the snow and on mtn ranges in the middle of nowhere, I do think it would it is wiser to carry the spare around. I do quite a bit of my camping on the weekend so finding a tire shop open on a Sunday would be tough let alone finding a company to tow me out of an old fire road!
Great build! I'm looking at purchasing the same tire carrier. Do you keep it on for daily driving, or just off-roadie trips? If daily, any annoyances? Thanks!!
Also interested in getting Ironman lift! Looking good! What do you think about the lift? Orignally wanted LP Aventure 1.5" but thought that getting an actual lift suspension would be better than getting a lift strut.
Nice, concise and to the point 👍
Thanks for posting link in description 👍

Its a pretty narrow trail in some spots for a GX, beautiful country and great views!

Wow, surprisingly similar build to mine.
I'm just trying to figure out how to get lights on my rear plate relocation.
I used the trailer hitch loom.
Nice video, I'm planning on making a similar video for my forester. Ditch your sway bars man! You'll get way more articulation and traction off road.

It is blocked completely, it's truly the worst thing about it.
@@xtrekadventure8225 Have you considered removing it completely and just keeping an ARB tire patch kit, instead?

I kept the tire on all the time. Annoyances are: rear camera is blocked, the carrier did make some clunking noises at low speeds.
@@xtrekadventure8225 Thanks for the info! I was thinking about relocating the camera... because it is nice to have in the city. Cheers!
How’s your mpg with those tires?
Does your new reserve tire fit in the original place of the stock ones?
The spare is just a small donut tire. There is no way you can fit a full size in that space, I have tried.
Did those 15” wheels work with out fitment issues ? I got a 2014 cross trek with oem wheel size of 17” I’d like to with these exactly wheels.
No problems
Are you happy with the 5in muffler over the non muffler option? How much louder is it than stock?
Its been a fun muffler to have, way louder than stock. It does have some drone at highway speeds.
why did you replace springs with aftermarkets?
For 2" lift.

Its been great!
@@xtrekadventure8225 Awesome, do you see any sagging?
@@michaelpark5764 I think it sags the tiniest bit when fully loaded, nothing like stock though.
Does any of the mods void factory warranty? thanks
The drivetrain is in no way modified, so it shouldn't.
At3 are perfect for are cars
They were VERY good tires.
Sounds like a go kart 😂
You might go down some dirt trails in that grocery getter but that’s about it you ain’t following my 4Runner that’s for sure, silly Hipster
That might be true, but I could tow your ass up a mountain in my GX470.
Negative comment like that only proves you have some crosstrek envy there Regis. Viva Subaru Sorry you have Toyota
lame ass foo, how do you even compare a runner to a xv??!!!!
