IMPORTANT: you have to unlatch the ribbon cable and remove it from the socket Which is important here yet not mentioned, do not tear it off there are separate tutorials on how to properly detach the ribbon.
I managed to fix it ok and yes the ribbon cable is very delicate and you must be careful i was also worried about the glue it used to repair the pivot getting onto the ribbon and damaging it
Sorry I just eased it out with the tweezers slowly. I didn't capture it on video I apologise. Just be gentle
After hours of active game, my right trigger spring does not working and falls inside. Probably I will do the same job. Already fixed the left one...damn why those things are so expensive... At least 60$ one...but bot 150$
What happend with my controller is that my home button broke and I had to factory reset my headset and I can’t get back on what should I do because I can press the button but the light won’t show up
Thanks for the video, had the same problem with a loose trigger. The plastic twisted off and its beyond reparable. Thanks for nothing meta....
So a ribbon cable in my oculus quest 2 controller ripped is there any way to fix it?
Oh dear in theory if you connect the torn parts back up but you could buy a broken one on ebay and use it for parts 😉
does anyone know what the wires in the ring are and if there detached then i can reatach them

dang i didn’t know jumping far gives your legs the ability to go through chairs
How did you get the top part separated from the bottom. There is a ribbon holding them together.
Im somewhat annoyed here, 6:05 so with the Torx 4 screw driver i got all eight screws but then the last one is pentagon or hexagon shapes it has 5 or 6 sides to it, and i dont have a screwdriver for it, it looked the same and same size but ofcourse it had the 1 singular different screw
My trigger is stuck that's grip button
I solved where the main trigger works.
There is a bar that holds it together. Be careful as the spring may somehow launch from the work area. Remove the bar.
The spring can fall out at this point, but the inner side should be hooked *underneath* the motherboard.
When putting back the spring, bar, and trigger; lift the motherboard until you can hook the semi-circle part of the spring around where one of the screws would go (a screw from the top, not motherboard side). Release the motherboard and screw down the motherboard. Insert the two prongs of the spring into the trigger. It should come in contact with a hidden metal plate. Flex the trigger and watch the spring from flying out. Re-insert the bar.
Congrats, you removed the main trigger and put it back.
I think I’ll just contact oculus support and get myself a replacement…
Thanks for letting me know that's cheaper the a second hand one at £80 that's why I fixed it
**They are £150 each to replace hence the effort to repair but if its too hard Get new ones here**
