0:08 IDK why Scott has such esteem for Jim Bowden but he’s easily the worst recurring guest on FT. I’ll be tuning in a lot less frequently if he becomes a regular contributor. He has the worst analysis of any former GM currently working in the media.

Definitely the Jim Cramer of baseball.

Jim Bowden is tied with the Fraudres for being the BIGGEST LOSER. No doubt about that.🤡

San Diego Padres are an odd omission from the losers list. No team has had more things go wrong for them than any other, most importantly the ownership fiasco.

This is the answer. They went from 1 game to NLCS to this offseason where they’ve made no key signings, and in fact have lost a couple players, watch their division rival amass key player after key player, and undergo ownership issues that can carry easily into the next year and really screw things up.
I think we’re witnessing SD fall into the pit of mediocrity.

@ Is there a better defense for owners are the problem not the Dodgers than San Diego? They were dawgs under Peter Seidler and couldn’t wait to go toe to toe with the big boys, especially the Dodgers. When they did, they usually gave as good as they got. Now he’s gone, and the fanbase is curled up like a beat dog crying about how unfair the Dodgers are and screaming salary cap. Amazing to see the change so quickly.

Pivettas issue, especially with the Red Sox is that he can’t get through 6 innings he will give you 4-5 with 2 runs, but the Sox always tried getting 6 out of him, and he just got ate alive. As soon as a hitter sees him 2 times, it’s over

I enjoy FT and watch frequently. Having Jim Bowden on more often to contribute his weak, silly, shallow and dated baseball analysis is a horrible idea. Instead of this blowhard Bowden have almost any other talking head or former MLB player would be a much better idea. I will just fast forward through his crap and then watch something else if FT follows through with Bowden. A huge NO in my opinion. Don't do it.

Hey Aj - ChiSox fan here. We suck and no amount of incremental improvement will change that sentiment or see this team as an improvement. Shit team with shit leadership topped with shit ownership

Dodger fan here and I was also impressed with Yankees moves. They got alot better. Sorry but I just dont see Soto as "generational" hitter. When did he hit the most home runs? Won a batting title? Hes a great hitter. But theres alot more that are better, and especially when you add in his defense. So good on Yankees for not bowing to him and giving in to drastically overpaying.

Braves are a good time that still has multiple areas to address. Until they do that, they're absolutely losers this offseason.

Cubs should be a winner also, they got the 2nd best player in the off season:Tucker for what? One lower part of top 100 prospect plus an average 3rd baseman and a mid pitching prospect!!!
They got rid of Cody’s contract when he would blocking other young players.
Added catcher and a lot of depth in pitching, and still with 40m to spend. (Yeah, don’t spend on Alonso or Bregman, make good signings)
They literally said they would spend close to 241m.
So I don’t see too many teams improved a lot then Cubs!

Red Sox are too busy trying to off load Yoshida’s contract on another team. I highly doubt you’ll see Arenado come to Fenway

Dodgers F-.. Because where is Soto? Lol Kidding, of course.
In reality, its a destination even if they were bad - so they should never get credit for convincing the guys they sign. The place is on fire and there is a lineup to play there .
They certainly get an A+ for being the first team to go all in with deferred and not having to seemingly say no. Too far ahead of everyone else in that regard, but roster space is soon fillied up for half a decade or more.
I'm a Jays fan and they tried the same thing. That's probably exactly what the 'unicorn budget' was. deferred for decades and in that context they failed. D. I dont blame them for the Vlad situation . He went from Realistically 32-33m long term to 40+ in 3 months. Not fair lol
A- when you see that they actually added a conservative 45hrs/40+sb/140 runs and some more late inning elite D. They addressed the bullpen in an effective way. It should be significantly better.
I think we expect 20/20 and 50 runs to be added to Bo's 2024 totals and ideally 10 more HRs for Vlad to increase those added totals further.
And the unicorn budget seems to still be in play, even if to a smaller extent.
They want the Dodgers on the field now. (Good luck lol)

Arizona winner??? They lost Walker and Peterson!!! Replaced with Naylor and Bournes! How much improvement??
Cubs still have higher payroll than them!
So don’t tell me the BS Arizona spends to compete! At least not EVERY YEAR over last 10 years! You can’t use one year spending and say they want to compete more than you! Thats not useful, maybe for some rant and feel want to let out to make you happy! Stupid comments and judgment!
