5 Head survival did a recent video on whether or not focus does anything meaningful when salvaging. He concluded the perk bonus only affects repair parts through datamining and in game testing.
You also have to factor in that you are getting territory standing while doing this. Even if you come short on the gold roll, you still get territory standing. A few percentage points on trading taxes, station fees, gathering speed, and property tax reduction really adds up over the long run.
If you are starting with limited funds, what price points would you put your buy orders and what amount of each type of thread/fiber would you buy order?
I flip Tier V Leatherworking, Weaving, Smelting and Tanning Materials every week several times. What i'm doing is fill the market with buy orders which fill over 24 hours, then I'm doing a big craft session. At the end of the week, I have around 3-5k of every Tier V mat to sell, what you need to know though is that storage management can be annoying and you won't sell the mats instantly, keep that in mind. Sometimes, i'm sitting on it for around a few days and I have to relist them a few times. Don't expect to sell 3k Ironwood Planks within an hour because there surely will be someone undercutting you.
@@tribe6154 I only do farming when I have the time or are in the mood of it, thr problem with that is that everything is contested these days, so farming is only possible in the very early morning for me. But even them, most of the time I do other things, so no, I don't farm for 95% of the mats.
I just did the same thing sort of, spent a week farming hides and using buy orders for tannin and iron hide. End of the week I crafted 15k infused leather into gloves. Got 9 vines and almost 200 tier 5 mats. Overall I got 345k for everything. Not bad for an hour or two each day doing a hide farm
you can also buy sticky vines/desecrated flesh/spectral dust (3g each or less) and craft expedition replica gloves which give you twice the xp when compared to a normal infused silk glove
I find you rotate with each week's mutations and it's a non issue. IE my server rn is Am/star and BNB so black powder bags are like 3 gold per on quick buy. I can BO them at 1.5-2 and it's a steal for the exp boost per craft.

I would actually do infused leather gloves not infused silk gloves since Rawhide/Thick Hide/Iron Hide are so much easier to get than fibers/silk/wirefiber.
@@LemoniGames welp, opened another 24 crates and got 7 shards, 3 vines and 2 brilliant animus. I think overall I made all my money back and made profit, and that's without selling the cd mats. So the method definitely works, you just have to pray to the rng gods hehe.
Nope that’s where they get you the raw mats go for more to actually make money you need mass amounts and you have to farm a lot as well to actually have the bonuses break the margin you would of got if you just sold raw mats

@@dokanyon I think you're confusing me with somebody else because i haven't commented anything else on this video other than the perks i told you were good. However, ill still answer your concern. 600GS Orichalcum Tools are able to have 5 perks on them. Such combinations can be, azoth, yield, experience, luck, and haste. There are still perk combinations that youre not allowed to have together on tools such as the ones you listed above. But yes, the legendary sickle can have "more" perks. But its only if its 600GS.
Only issue is that Infused Silk just doesnt go for that much on Fresh Start servers for some reason. I've been armor aptitude gambling recently though, and holy MOLY can you make some GOLD. You're always positive just on Asmo/Runic/Phoenix drops alone, and if you hit a Starmetal Weaponsmith's Charm or a Squirming, you're even MORE ahead.
I wouldn't say you make profit no matter what. I've done this 4 or 5 times after a few days of farming and only made profit once and it was by a couple thousand. I'm also a super unlucky person haha.
Lol these VODs destroy markets, this was a nice little earner untill vids like this drop and then the market sky rockets on raw resources (fibers/rawhides etcetc) and plumets on the crafted items (infused silk/leather).

If you do buy orders yeah I could see the money if you buy enough but I just don’t see the buy orders making you that much the bonuses aren’t that great
You also didn’t say how long it took you to get all the mats for the 5k in silk you said you spent 30k in buy orders but there is no way 30k in buy orders turns to 100k I hate videos like this that make it seem easy to get 100k no it takes countless of hours farming in my experience

So you do no farming? Just buy everything you need and then craft, and sell the t5 mats?

It was proved that the 100 Focus doesn't work with the extra wield :) but yeah, I am doing this, but with leather instead of weaving

I don't get this, if I do this amount of crafting silk gloves, I get 15 loot chest max. Did you save them up or how did you get this many?
I opened 39 aptitude boxes from 13 levels to try this, and got insanely unlucky. I only got 2 shards of consecrated iron and 2 brilliant animus :(

Yield, experience, and Luck are my go to perks. But i would suggest just focusing on yield and experience.

sad the profit aint as big on my server with this method, so I'mma have to do a lot of the farming my self, since most t5 mats only sell for around 8g
it costs about 30 gold on my server to buy the ingredients for a single infused silk... (galahad, fresh start server)
