This song always made me sad many years ago...my father would travel out of state, and on some occasions, outside of the country. Sometimes this song pops up in my head when my father's overseas in some far-off country (for instance, in 2012, he was in Korea during the Holiday season and wasn't able to make it home for Christmas). However, at this day and age, my father isn't traveling outside the state or outside of the country for work, mostly due to this horrible pandemic. He has a job close to home, namely somewhere in Rochester, New York.
The words are wrong in one part, specifically where it says "Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone." Should be, and listen very closely "Rocket man, burning DOWN his fuse OUT THERE alone." Fantastic song, as all of his songs are.
Always brings back memories of Perry 51ms party one block away from Kim's when I did the music for his party and her parents wouldn't let her attend. I kept playing this every 4th -5th song for her because I knew she loved it and could hear the music.
