A lot of people don't understand that female otaku is pretty much the same as male otaku. They don't feel comfortable interacting with the other gender.
In the end, everyone is just acting like morons. As someone else wrote, "Don't push them to do collabs with male vtubers, don't punish them when they DO collab with male Vtubers." If it happens, tough shit. Wait for the next stream if you hate it that much. If the vtuber flat out says it's not going to happen, tough shit. Write fanfic if you want it that much. I'm not sure why this is so difficult.
It's really just as simple as respecting their decision either way. While I personally can't understand the hate towards Holostars, everyone has their preferences including the talents. I hope Liz lets more talents who do have an interest in collabing with the whole company feel more comfortable. She's been a breath of fresh air. I'd never ask for collabs though. Even between the girls that feels weird to me unless it's brought up. It's one of the rules to not bring up other talents when not being discussed anyway.
I just think it's hilarious how worked up people get over the whole idea, when Mio's the only one who even mentioned it. Chat never said anything about a collab server with men, just people from outside the company. Nothing about that necessitates the presence of male vtubers, and her viewers know that by this point.
i'm confused as to what you mean by punishing as far as i know, unicorns have no power to do anything except stop supporting and stop watching are you saying people should be forced to watch and support something they don't like?
oof it is, and I think the TL also is part of it some Discord server's TL is different on the "Yuck" part than here. So yeah the Clip is made for ragebait.
Having watched both the girls, the boys and even their collabs (yes, I have no life) The dynamic are different, the vibe, the way they do things are different, even their preference are different. It's all different experience between all girls, all boys and mixed. It just matter of what vibe they prefer, if the girls like sticking to the atmosphere of girls doing girls things, it's fine. If they want the more co-ed dynamic, it's also fine. This is often the case, with how a lot of them talked about it, rather than fear of some random unicorns out of thousands or millions of fans they have. For us viewers, we just need to pick what they have and enjoy it. If it ain't your taste, then just don't watch it, just watch something else, simple. No point trying to argue should they or should they not. They are all adults, with managers behind them. And Cover knows what they doing to expand their brand and the talents channel.
I once thought about joining Holostars, but as soon as my conscience was clear I gave up on the idea. I felt I wanted to hang out with Hololive members because of how friendly and happy they were with each other. So really my reasoning was mostly a parasocial want -- a mix of admiration and envy (how sad is that, right? 😕 ). Such a motive is obviously unhealthy and could lead to trouble. I also later realized such a thing isn't possible anyway, not because of outside influence, but because most of them are introverts that avoid socializing with any men. So yeah, your comment pretty much sums up how impractical male to female Holocollabs are. I mean, when was the last time we saw a Holostars member collab with a Hololive member, particularly HoloEN?
@@GawainW Yeah, even the boys also talk a bit about it. It pretty much boiled down to the vibe and how comfortable are they during the collab. Even if people want a co-ed collab between this and that talents out of the blue, are we sure it's gonna be enjoyable when both of them barely knew anything about each other? Forcing things will just make it awkward, and awkward stream make for awkward experience for the viewers. For the content creators like these talents, able to have fun and enjoy themselves is the top priority. Cause it's not video editing or acting out a script, it's a stream where they play games or do things together to entertain us, it's "live". And the audience will 100% knows if they aren't enjoying thing. Just let it happens naturally, if it happens to be the pair you want to see, good, you get to appreciate it more. If not, then just let it go, it's a false expectation you set up for yourself anyways. Plus, when things happen naturally, you get peak contents like with Pizzaria family, or Liz and Flayon banter like sibling, Kobo Altare things, HoloSalt, Ao-kun getting bullied by literally every Holostars she met and it still fun to watch. Beside, the Holostars and Hololive collabs aren't that so much rare you have to force it to happens. Like they aren't even as rare as HoloExodia Collab or worse... HoloForce or Suntempo Collab.
Perhaps I am overthinking, but I can't rule that out as a possibility from what I've seen, past and present. Those like Kiara have experienced idol culture first hand before she even started Hololive, and how obsessive men can be for female idols. The thing is that those in Japan don't want to see female idols with other men, because they themselves want to believe that they have a chance with them. Sad (and creepy) but true. Then there's the other hand, though likely in a similar vein. Some fans, particularly overseas fans, who want to SEE more interactions between Hololive and Holostars -- an opposite to what Japanese fans want. Seeing gender neutral parties between Holomems is one thing, but expecting some of them to connect romantically is another. Remember when Altaire was teasing Kronii during the Dead By Daylight collab? A lot of people had the misconception that teasing was the same as flirting, so they were "shipping" those two together. Kronii had to address this too. Why would those fans think a Hololive and Holostars member could hit it off? Why would they support such a thing? Think about that. Although I could also be thinking this because I haven't seen any clips or collabs involving Holostars as often as some would have hoped. Though through the majority of evidence I am aware of, the former thought is the one that makes the most sense to me. Almost every fan has a parasocial side to them, some more than others. As much as they want to deny it, it's true.
This is more about hololive audiences, it was created to interact female vtubers with a male audience, so the company is betting on the audience that makes the most profit
Those pushing for male collabs should really understand that not every female vtuber is comfortable with it. It's a matter of preference. Let them be with what they want to do. There are already plenty of chuba out there who's comfortable with it, watch them instead.
I mean I get that and a vtuber is free to collab with who they want when they want. But at the end most of the explanation is because they're a femcel or that their fans are... Weird. Tho I guess that's mainly hololive there are plenty other agencies that do mix genders do tbh it's whatever
I love seeing the cross-gender collabs, but at the same time I get that this really is something that has to come naturally. You aren't gonna get an entertaining stream if the people involved really have no interest in the other party or even what's going on, and forcing/pressuring people to collab with each other when they barely know anything about them other than "they work at the same company as me" just puts stress on them too. At the end of the day they're all people, and just because people work under the same umbrella doesn't mean they're instantly going to hit it off.
I mean in this case they not pushing them to collab with male vtubers 😅 In the first place mio just speak up that it will be more fun if more members can joining in, because make sense with how big the map in GTA it needs more people in it. And then mio fans only said "collab with other companies" probably referring to invite female vtubers outside hololive because they didnt even said holostar dude, especially it's hololive game project, they can directly invite indie / company with only female vtubers.
no one is forcing male collabs on girls tho? all i see is people saying "oh pls i want gura to collab with [insert hologirl]" which is just another case of collab begging
Admit it. There are more phasekeks and nijikeks in this comment section stirring the pot than there are actual holo fans. The actual holofans are actually watching the content instead of trying to make this "drama" bigger than it actually is.
There are more phasekeks and nijikeks here than their branches have average ccv. Literal dramabeggers who can't even be bothered to watch their own vtubers 😂
@@TeeDude-k3w can confirm. I never heard of a hologirl fan go "oh my god mio is so based for this frfr" but they said "oh ill have to keep that in mind then" No sane holofans would dog on fellow holofans because doing that is a sign that theyre a faker
While potential fan outrage is something that might matter for some members, I feel like the main reason why most of the girls in Hololive don't collab with Holostars is the same reason why most Hololive viewers don't watch Holostars- it's not what they're here for and not what they're interested in.
i mean thats obvious considering most of the hololive fan base is made up of males...males that kinda dont see the light of day sometimes. guys that wanna see cute kawaii girls do cute kawaii things with their kawaii voices.
@@nguyenho5859 isnt me proving that i can enjoy any content despite being a bigger fan to something you dont have interest in something you wanna hear?
Slightly different perspective here, aside from the "idol" angle: Mio's comments reminds me of my friends who attended all-girls secondary schools (not sure of other equivalents, but 13-16 years old) and overall most of them won't want to trade that experience for a co-ed one. It's a safe space to be, well, silly in their own way. I attended an all-boys school and I feel that way as well (though honestly we were more stupid than silly). The social dynamics are just different compared to co-ed schools. And besides, it's her content and her career. It's her choice.
miko has literally stated over and over that one of the things she likes the most about hololive is that it feels like going to an all girls high school every day the people who push for mixed collabs do not care about what the girls want, they do not respect what they want, they just want them to shut up and collab with the stars so they can ship them
@@starboy9002Yeah, and the Holomems best known for not collabing with guys are the ones from all-girls schools. What a surprise~ (deadpan voice) Like, idk much about Japanese culture but when I remember how sadly common sekuhara and stalking is over there, am I supposed to be surprised that Holomems prefer the company of other girls?
@@starboy9002 That is some serious strawmanning, especially with the "they just wanna ship them" comment. Kobo and Altare were popular despite their sibling vibes, Calli explicitly mentioned that if anything, she'd rather the Tempus bois be considered her sons etc. Hell, if anything I'd argue it's the gachikois and unicorns who hate-ship them, weirdos that they are. Like, I've watched Kronii's interactions with the bois. None of them were even a little romantic or shippable. Most of it was a "comedic frenemies" tone. Yet seething gachikois insisted on interpreting her interactions with them in a sexual light. Calli, again, never gave me a vibe that seemed "shippable" but what do you know-I saw plenty of comments involving her too, where people would insinuate sexual relationships between her and the Stars members. Hell, the fact that I've seen hate porn from gachikois on multiple occassions makes them look even more deranged to me. How are you going to look at a perfectly healthy, platonic, male-female interaction and be so mentally ill that you have to take it as some act of betrayal and make porn of a non-existent relationship to try and stir people up further. I'm not saying you're one of em, I'm just saying you sound concerningly similar.
@@JohnDoe-pc3uk holy fuck i'm not reading any of that, all i'll say is people very conveniently forgot all about how when nodoka was first introduced you people shipped her so hard with that one EN star it became really weird and she had to stop appearing for a while and only came back rather recently
@starboy9002 Zeta literally completely stopped collabing with dudes because the fandom shipping her with Axel got so terrible and invasive. It’s impossible for Nodoka to be brought up in English without some idiot bringing up Axel based on one collab they did over a year ago. Shiori replied to Flayon on Twitter once, it has resulted in literally hundreds of porn art of the two courtesy of the pro-Collab okbuddyhololive subreddit. The Stars fanbase is very bad with unwanted shipping. You’re right that Kronii and Vesper’s actions weren’t romantic, but that didn’t stop Vesperonii from being a massive ship. And people were being up Vesper so much in her chat after he graduated that she has his name banned in her chat, your comment is automatically removed if you mention him
Nah, as a female myself, I agree with her, its not for gachikoi or unicorn reasons, I just like the vibe better with all females. I still watch the girls even if they have collabed with males, I just avoid those streams.
idk my childhood is full of me playing together with girl and even i get asked do i want to go out with them all to the restourant, i said yes, and i was the only Male in their group XD, even the restourant waiter say that im their bodyguard XD idk its fun to play with girl, even if im a male, i respect their to and they respect me back
well i live in indonesia, and indonesia people dont care if they play with girl or male, as long they having fun that mean they are friend, even in school teacher sometime will make group work of both male and female so they can get along too, you can see holo id can easily getting along with holostars..
@@kaigaikarano they do play around that term, even Inuyama Tamaki have his own unicorn outfit lmao Proud is a strong word but Japanese do understand what unicorn means, I see it more like self-depreciating jokes when they label themselves as unicorns

They're gonna claim that Mio, who had the balls to calmly scold Cover over the 3rd Fes banner incident (Luna disappeared from the banner in the 3rd Fes venue) on stream is "too scared of unicorns" to _aCkSuALly_ say her ""true opinions."" Lol, lmao even. Holomems can do whatever they want, except when that "whatever" runs counter to their headcanon, then suddenly it's "actually they're being forced".😂
And there is some guy several days ago before the HoloGTA starts and he says HoloGTA would be boring and it is no fun without holostar and I think now he is dying that his expectation didn't achieve. It is so much fun and chaotic that the girls did and we all enjoy it and girls did our expectation was beyond that! ABSOLUTLY CINIMATIC!
I imagine he'll pretend it wasn't that good or that it'd be better with Stars. Some people cannot accept that there are a lot of people that just want to watch the girls and that they're vastly more popular than males in vtubing.
I agree. However, in my opinion, VCR GTA with male and female vtubers turned out to be a much larger, more dynamic and interesting event than HoloGTA, although it also had its own highlights and innovations.
i was thinking abt the same thing; what if cover hosts an omega collab where ppl who are comfortable with each other can collab in one server? it would be interesting to see that in action

As someone who’s been primarily a stars fan since stars en debuted, I’ve always hated the collab beggars. All it did was make the guys look bad and bothered the girls. While I’m sure a majority of collab beggars were just socially inept stars fans, I swear that some of the begging was a psyop by stars or holopro antis.
@@sorakazeharu They do. Ever wonder why what Aki said to him had as much impact as it did? The famous "you're Hololive too, you're the same as us!" quote.
I'm against collabs outside Hololive in general. I just think the world building gets better if they stick with eachother. But exceptions are fine as long as it's not often enough to break the dynamic. But this seems to be common sense policy for how Japan manages groups. Every agency should follow this standard to strengthen their brand. Holo GTA, Minecraft, Mario Kart etc wouldn't be the same if it was open entry. And I think you can apply this also to normal collabs and storytelling about offline meetups. The issue with including Holostars more is that some members would embrace them and some would avoid them. This is bad since it creates unnecessary division. The same would happen to the viewer base.
holoGTA is only available because it's an all-girls... some joke wont be available if its done by male vtuber or it will become sekuhara or atleast they have to hold back more
Far too often I see comments on YT, Twitter, etc that refuse to respect the simple idea that maybe, just maybe, the girls are making their own choice when they don't stream with Stars, etc. For these people, a Holo member is never actually choosing what they themselves want unless they happen to be choosing what these people want. It's ridiculous and leads to swathes of fan insults and drama spreading.

people have their preference, some people okay with male collab, some people are not, there is nothing wrong with that, and i strongly agree with Mio on the good vibe between girls, especially within holo, it's something special and different from other agencies, essentially that's what made Holo stand out, went from a small startup to the industry leader.

I dont understand people who come to Hololive streams and say holo girls should be like other vtubers and collabs with guys... Why don't you go watch those vtubers then? Hololive has their own identity and that is what I watch them for.
I mean, a lot of the Hololive girls DO collab with guys, though. Matsuri, Polka, Laplus, Korone, Bae, recently Elizabeth, basically all of Holo ID -- heck, even Sora has paid her dues at Roberu's bar, and even Kiara has started getting buddy-buddy with Koefficient! "All girls all the time" is hardly Hololive's "identity," it's just kind of the natural state of being when you're part of an all-girls group. But I'd say at this point, more Hololive girls have branched out to collab with men than those who haven't, and the resulting collabs have been a ton of fun. Personally, I watch the Hololive girls because they're great talents that are fun to see. This applies equally to those who have collabed with men as to those who haven't -- in fact, I'd say it perhaps applies even more to those who've branched out and collabed with men quite often, like Ollie, Kobo, Bae, and Matsuri, whose openness to co-ed collabs have created some absolutely legendary moments and interactions, from Kobo's many streams with Rrrrragus to Roberu's priceless reaction when Bae made him try vegemite for the first time. I respect Mio's decision here, but I do think it may hold her back a bit in the end -- her subscriber numbers and viewership are much smaller than most others of her generation, and limiting potential collab partners likely will do her no favors in that regard. It's a disappointing stance, but at least it's her own stance, and not her capitulating to idol "fans" -- and her honesty on the matter is greatly appreciated!
@@starboy9002 I'm a wall-of-texter. Every reply I write, everywhere, is a wall of text. It's just kind of what I do! Comes with being a translator and editor by trade, I guess. The tl;dr version is, I respect Mio's decision, but at the same time, it does disappoint me. I've never watched Mio much, admittedly, but I always thought she was one of the more open-minded members when it came to co-ed interactions. Learning that she's not has made me less inclined to watch her content in the future -- I guess similarly to how Mio herself is less inclined to watch other Holomems interact with male talent! So yes. It very much is "I respect her choice, but." And I think that's fair! That's how the internet should be. Respect the choices of others, but if you don't like them, you don't have to watch them. Doesn't mean I can't express my grievances, though! ;)
Even with the ones that do male collabs hololive is like 90% cute girls doing cute things content, a member could ignore a superchat about males/ skip a Collab with males involved/ avoid a Holostars reference/ not give male vtubers a follow in social media/ ignore forced fanarts of her X holostars or literally say "Male collabs are not going to happen" and you'll still have beggars going - "Well I respect that BUT we can convince her to change" "Never say never ;)" "I'm sure she will open up eventually" "I'm sure you are scared of the evil fans, just do male collabs to make them mad ;)"
So like why can't there just be a group of Female only Streamers? What's so wrong about that? Why do people want for EVERYTHING to the be same thing everywhere? Personally i think Hololive girls have been a great thing for female streamers in general. Has knocked off a lot of stigma that female streamers had for people, me include.
It's what helped them distinguish themselves from just being a Niji-lite early on. The people who think they should change really are mental. A lot of it comes down to them wanting the girls to boost the Stars popularity when that's really not their responsibility.
It Baffles me why those who Virtue signals Female empowerment are making the Hololive talents force to Collab with Males? Like are they even hearing themselves? By the end it's not about Female empowerment it's about "Owning the Chuds" and sabotage this community.
Nobody even said any of that. Her chat was asking about cross-company collabs; they didn't say anything about her playing with men. There are PLENTY of female-only streaming groups out there. The only person who mentioned co-ed collabs was Mio herself. And yet as always, the viewers in these comments have to turn it into some kind of weird crusade. Like seriously, you have weirdos here straight up attacking even the VCR events because they dare to feature men, accusing anyone who likes them as being "anti-Holo" despite the fact they're something Hololive members continue being invited to and attending.
Because the real incels are the ones asking and pushing these girls to do better by working with men. Because they are not allowed to be successful without males around.

I don't think the meaning of Unicorn is particularly different, it's just been massively misinterpreted (oftentimes in a purposefully bad-faith manner) by certain wings of western 'Tourists'.
It's pretty straightforward: "Unicorns" are the fans who act like the world is ending if their oshi gets within five feet of a man who isn’t Yagoo. They start doomposting, claiming the idol is now "tainted" or a "slut" and that they can never trust her again. Having a preference is one thing, but enforcing it with a zero-tolerance mindset is another. The ones who push this absolute zero-tolerance policy are the Unicorns. As a Westerner, while I mostly watch female VTubers-99.9% of the time-I’m not going to lose my mind if they collaborate with a guy every now and then, especially for major projects like Rust or GTA, where having 100+ people in the same game just makes sense. She said herself that they could use 2x the amount of people for GTA. That being said I did enjoy the all female cast so I wouldent mind if they just start truing out the next waves instead. A solid wave for each JP/EN/ID would help round out the compnay.

@@arlynnecumberbatch1056 I'd argue it's vastly more misogynist to want more guys in vtubing when it's literally the only female dominated field for content creation.

They should be allowed to collab with whoever they want! *Holo talent mentions they're allowed to collab with whoever they want but prefer women* Nooooo not like this you're doing it wrong, obey me~~~~!
@@SDE1994i agree with your opinion, holostars also a part of hololive so they can be given a chance to collab or play together but not forcing the one didn't want to collab with male vtubers. I know they're idol but when streaming game they're the same as common streamer. So as a listener i want both to have equal chance, i respect mio choice that just want to see relationship between girls but if you watch towa/akirose/matsuri they can play with male streamer/vtuber without having feeling included, they just think them as friend or family that they have in every encounter and they just want to maintain their good relationship to play together
Consider, if you would, the fact that the Holomems themselves are also fans of Hololive. They have preferences for the content they like to watch, same as anyone. They're just in the position where they can create the content they want to see. Not necessarily to then watch their own content, of course. It's more about the feedback loop of supply and demand centered around the content they prefer.
I don't like Male collabs, but not for the "They are dating raaah" reason, more like, I don't find the same vibes and humor from men, I don't enjoy them. And I know a lot of other fans who think the same. People just don't enjoy men. And that fact is even more common in Idol spaces. Maybe is because I'm a female, so I want a female only space. Covers are ok, they're good tbh.
This only applies to this vtber idol culture space... The biggest channels are still people who who collab with anyone. Personally I loved the Calli collabs with the Holo boys. She and her chat seemed to be have the grandest time too from the clips I had seen. And there isn't there also Roberu with Mea being basically the most shipped pairing among holofans and staff lol
@@comfyfizz7124Comparing a niche like vtubing to normal content creators seems redundant. And its not much different for them, their audience also has things they watch and things they don't watch. It comes down to the branding of a particular creator.
@@comfyfizz7124 I'd like to point out that "the biggest channels", when it comes to female streamers, are VTubers, though. And that's with large majority of top female VTubers "handicap" their viewership by streaming on UA-cam (YT is a lot stricter when it comes to counting viewers compared to Twitch) On the other hand, top male normal streamers are way bigger than VTubers, but they target different audiences altogether and follow different standards / kinds of contents
I won't force Mio or other Holomebers if their hearts are intolerant or not used to collaborating with male VTubers. Mio's statement was the same as what Kanata said. yeah... when it comes to collabs with male VTubers, there are already several Holomembers who often do it, such as Akirose, Ayame, Laplus, Towa, and Fubuki. let them represent the Hololive Collaboration with Holostar or other Male VTubers.
I don't know, I always thought this topic was pretty simple. They stream with whoever and however they are most comfortable with. Just like they don't all play certain games. I think that's a pretty great deal since that means they feel less restricted and will want to keep doing what they are doing. While I'd love to see more Stars interaction, the boys are given the same boundaries. It's all good imo
I'm glad Miosha ended up saying something; that's just my preference. Because they are idols and because I'm here for my oshi who's a cute girl vtuber. If I watch collabs, I want to see them with other girls. Just let them do what they want, and let people watch what they want.
There are also some hologirls that collab just fine with males like Towa, La+, Aki, Robocco, Choco, Botan, among others. There are several that already stated themselves to be uncomfortable with it. And honestly, it's good to let the talents decide for themselves
Don't know why this is hard to understand for a lot of people. Hololive is a female idol group, the members are the once who created this environment. They love the environment they have created and don't want it changed. If you don't like it then don't watch it, going around making fantasies about how they want to collab with males but don't because muh unicorn/gatchi/fans just makes you an anti.
I'd say that since Stars EN landed there have slowly been more transplants from over from the NijiEN fandom. Often when I see complaints about Holo's fandom on Twitter for example it's generally from people that have a mix of Stars and NijiEN oshi marks or had a histroy of posting about those vtubers before the EN branch over there cratered. They just wanted a new place and couldn't handle that other people don't what they want.
I've always deemed them as casuals and for a good reason. They only think of themselves on what they personally enjoy and hope to see instead of respecting their oshi's wishes.
That's right. Even now they barely have any interaction with each other, but putting them in the same agency is just causing unnecessary drama. They should be separated to make the noisy minority give up on begging for collaboration.
The community causes drama all on its own. You're just making excuses for them. This clip is a perfect example of it. Mio answered an innocent question about a cross-company (they never said co-ed) collab server to get a higher player count, and people here have turned it into some stupidass male vs female and "holo only" vs everyone else war. The EN fanbase really are the worst part of vtubing.
Not much people aware but ever since the graduation of the two EN Holostars since last year (shortly before Advent debut) Hololive are currently having the best and most peaceful no-drama time period right now (aside from the unavoidable graduations of course). It's the greatest time to be a Hololive fan right now, just enjoying and supporting their own individual oshis in their lanes. Of course, only outsiders hate seeing this current state of Hololive
They are seperated. Only Vtuber Fans being the usual brain-melted asylum escapees they are can't handle something this simple that most entertainment companies do.

Based Cute Wolfu. I'm also a CGDCT Enjoyer. "You know they all have boyfriends, right?" I don't care, I just want to watch what I like. Everything else is not my business.
@@senny- It's like seeing a bunch of puppies/kittens/your choice of cute animals playing in front of you. Makes you go "aww cute!" Occasionally they'll do something dumb/stupid and make you laugh your ass off.
Well, I hate harems, too, and how they make their female cast useless. Not my favorite genre, but I also used to watch CGDCT, like K-on, Non Non Byori stuff like that. Recently, I was an avid Bokita shipper from BTR, because they're so cute and they deserve each other. But it's not like I'm gonna go nuts when a male character appears in those shows. I don't get the outrage. Males kinda of do exist irl.
A female-male collab is a different dynamic and vibe. Its the same reason male conversations and female conversations completely change when someone of the opposite gender enters the other's. If your unfamiliar with it or dont know the other person's vibe, it can get awkward very easily. I think if theyre gonna do a female-male collab, they should make an event or performance out of it. That way both sides have something to focus on and then end the collab when its over. Also not to mention the shippers and super fans...
Collab beggars really don't understand the big picture. You can't just wake up and go "hey let's play this with these people" and it happens. Schedules need to line up, the streamers need to have some sort of common ground or knowledge of each other, and even then the collab itself usually lasts for 1-2 hours on average. "Oh just play with Holostar" is lame too because not everyone watches both sides. Yeah there's an idol culture in Japan that limits male/female interaction, but here's the thing - the streamer makes the rules for who they stream with. Go watch any of the millions of others out there who collabe with anyone and everyone, and those who post their IRL selves yet still claim to be a Vtuber - those are the ones that collab beggars should flock to instead.
@@frobsonsdesenhos That _is_ what unicorns are tho. They're called that coz unicorns the mythical creatures only accepted virgin girls as riders. I get what she feels. Male and Female collabing has this sense of awkwardness. especially when playing role play in games, especially mature games like GTA. But collabing for singing, talk show or competitive game like FPS, Fighting, or DOTA is ok though. Oh by the way yuck and ugh is not the same.
Awkwardness, tiptoeing (especially around mock flirting that same-gender collabs do all the time), and when things get chaotic and loud and (mock) aggressive, not every woman wants to match the rowdy energy. So yeah, it's 💯% a different vibe and fair to not want to be a part of it.
am i the only one who is wondering who exactly is pushing her/them to do anything? lol the comment in the video said "collab with other companies" not "collab with males" so im confused why half the comments here are using the word "push". I watch quite a bit of live streams and archives/clips, and i dont ever remember seen someone commenting it either. When has any member been "pushed" to collab with males?
Well to the unfortunately perpetually socially maladapted individual (of where there are a lot in his fandom) apparently the idea of -wanting- something even unrealistically or even questioning it is some manner of sin and means you're trying to push / beg even though simple viewers can't push anything and there isn't and never has been a large contingent of people going "you must collab!" or anything. Its at most just spoken personal desires, personal disappointment, group fights, and personal concerns but to some this is a problem. I'm sure there are some people who are a very annoying about it but its generally not what I see. Basically never. At most there was HLZNTL (which had more to do with Esports than males) but no one pushed them into anything. They were asked to do a thing, it didn't work out, and they didn't do it again. Never has a member been pushed to do anything. So this whole issue is just fandom stupidity.
Yuck is not the best onomatopoeia. That reflects disgust but she is talking about pain or discomfort. I would have used Ugh. Way closer to how it sounds too
as someone who watch hololive for their streamer side and not their idol side since idol culture is not my thing I never opposed to male collab but given how hololive brand is positioned it's totally understandable that most of them prefer to not collab with male streamer, I love seeing cute girls tho so I'm not complaining.

The worst thing about this whole topic is the hate and vitriol that's spewed alongside it. It's kinda insane how things can escalate so fast. It's just so tiresome.
Part of the problem is the culture warrior raiders that try to make a stink for the Holostars whether or not they actually watch them. I make a pretty normal comment and they come in trying to suggest I support antis, dox people, etc. They're exceedingly unwell and sadly folks like this have anti'd Hololive for ages.
As someone who watches both Hololive and Holostars and would like to see more collaborations between them, I respect Mio's decision and think it is entirely valid even if I cannot relate to her reasons for it. I think it's a shame, as I think there is a lot of potential fun to be had with it like with the Pizzeria that Aruran ran and his subsequent friendship with Ao, but most of all I think that talents should not ever be forced into something they do not wish to do, by either the agency itself or the fans. And I also recognize that especially because of the nature of their profession as entertainers that it probably wouldn't make for great entertainment if the talents felt super awkward about whatever they were doing so forcing things is also bad in that regard. I appreciate her honesty in this regard very much and will continue to enjoy her content as before.
speaking of which, do you remember when people thought that the management is "forcing fwmc to collab with stars" when the promo for holofes (an event which involves both agencies btw) showed men on screen? and they thought they went silent "because they hate men grrr" and its just- look ruffians youre making your oshi look bad to anyone who just discovered vtubers thinking they enable freaks like you and its not good they held that so well unlike the ppl over on lets say reddit
I’m not really sure why this always seems to be such a divisive issue. Letting the members decide for themself what they are comfortable with as it is now feels like the only way that makes sense. I think Hololive is in a good spot where there are plenty of members that only collab with other female streamers, and plenty that don’t have any restrictions as all. I Personally have two Oshi and one is from the former group and the other the latter because it has never really been something I cared about. If the talent is forced one way or the other, the content they put out is not going to be as good.
I think it’s divisive because it can come across as sexism. And if it were just your average VTuber viewer avoiding male streams on purpose, I would say that it’s sexist because more likely than not, you are assuming that you won’t like the content they put out mainly because of their sex/gender. Not wanting to produce certain content is something that I can understand however.
It's not really "divisive", it's just the common sentiment among 99% hololive fans, it's only a few loud minorities that spam collab begging requests under every single thing involving the girls that cause trouble. Some poor artist was drawing cat-type holos in a fanart and even he got hit with the "please draw holostars too" comment. It's so widespread and a terrible look for that side of the fanbase. At least some people on reddit are pushing back on this behavior but the twitter crowd is just too far gone, or just outright refusing to acknowledge the problem.
@@cyberdsaiyan I wouldn’t say that the sentiment of actively disliking co-ed collabs is common, and if so, I’m certainly not part of that group. If Hololive were a tight-knit co-ed group instead, I’d love it just as much and we likely wouldn’t be having this conversation here.

This is a perfectly fine take to have, people shouldn’t have a problem with it. Do things with who you want to do things with. Just please, don’t go out of your way to hate on the members who DO do things with other guys, or the stars. Remember the whole Kronii situation with the first gen of en stars? Even the official holo account had to make a statement saying she can collab with anyone she wants because of the hate she was getting for it. No one should collab beg, and no one should hate on co-ed collabs. It’s that simple. Let the members do what they feel comfortable doing, and don’t hate either way. I mean... When playing games with others, it is usually not a girl/guy thing. Been online gaming a lot, and only a few times there's been one or two girls playing along the guys. I still really like seeing this happen, or be part of it in the background, you know... But I would feel so strange if I was the one doing the quests or objectives alone with a girl while playing games. So I totally understand what she means if she was to stream with a guy. Especially when it needs to be on a professional level, it kind of distrupts the purpose of having fun while at it.
I personally like the mixed streams, it add some uniqueness, and the guys tend to be very respectful, well it doesnt happen often, so I treasure it the few times it happened, in holoverse at least.
@@stikyfinkaz183 One thing I like is seeing how far into the pseudo-toxic trash talk banter the girls can go since the boys take it in stride and everyone laughs. In all-female collabs they don't unsheathe the verbal claws as hard, or as often.
A lot of people don't understand that female otaku is pretty much the same as male otaku. They don't feel comfortable interacting with the other gender.
And the exceptions prove the rule.
In the end, everyone is just acting like morons.

If the vtuber flat out says it's not going to happen, tough shit. Write fanfic if you want it that much.
I'm not sure why this is so difficult.
I agree. I know someone that pushes them to collab with males, and I'm like gawd, your must as bad as the unicorns.

Having watched both the girls, the boys and even their collabs (yes, I have no life)
The dynamic are different, the vibe, the way they do things are different, even their preference are different.
@@GawainW you're overthinking this
@@GawainW Yeah, even the boys also talk a bit about it.

@@ZHibiki "Femcels" Man, holostar fans really are holoantis
I love seeing the cross-gender collabs, but at the same time I get that this really is something that has to come naturally. You aren't gonna get an entertaining stream if the people involved really have no interest in the other party or even what's going on, and forcing/pressuring people to collab with each other when they barely know anything about them other than "they work at the same company as me" just puts stress on them too. At the end of the day they're all people, and just because people work under the same umbrella doesn't mean they're instantly going to hit it off.

In the first place mio just speak up that it will be more fun if more members can joining in, because make sense with how big the map in GTA it needs more people in it. How dare you make sense! Lol

Lot of hololive streamers do collabs with males and it gets 0 drama cause the fans support them and not like lot of comments saying will bring drama
mio based as usual
@@HelmirThose guys are Psyops and want to tarnish what special Hololive has into the being Nijilite
I've always deemed them as casuals and for a good reason. They only think of themselves on what they personally enjoy and hope to see instead of respecting their oshi's wishes.
"change my mind"
Instead of increasing profits, the arrival of holostars actually caused problems.
Its better from holostars and hololive to be separated people asking for collab only brings drama to the community

Also not to mention the shippers and super fans...

oh boy 💀
Collab beggars really don't understand the big picture. You can't just wake up and go "hey let's play this with these people" and it happens. Schedules need to line up, the streamers need to have some sort of common ground or knowledge of each other, and even then the collab itself usually lasts for 1-2 hours on average. "Oh just play with Holostar" is lame too because not everyone watches both sides. Yeah there's an idol culture in Japan that limits male/female interaction, but here's the thing - the streamer makes the rules for who they stream with. Go watch any of the millions of others out there who collabe with anyone and everyone, and those who post their IRL selves yet still claim to be a Vtuber - those are the ones that collab beggars should flock to instead.
istg whenever i hear this word i think of "i want girl to talk with girl!" which is VERY COMMON on twitter posts evverytime theres a debut wave

People are literally creating the whole situation out of thin air. Her chat never mentioned it, only she did.
Do someone remember that HLZNTL thing? Yeah.
@@Cuacky_RK that was something Cover did to try and get into the esports market, nothing to do with males

I appreciate her honesty in this regard very much and will continue to enjoy her content as before.
speaking of which, do you remember when people thought that the management is "forcing fwmc to collab with stars" when the promo for holofes (an event which involves both agencies btw) showed men on screen? and they thought they went silent "because they hate men grrr" and its just- look ruffians youre making your oshi look bad to anyone who just discovered vtubers thinking they enable freaks like you and its not good
they held that so well unlike the ppl over on lets say reddit
But I would say that the sentiment of liking the vibes that Hololive in-group collabs give is common. If Hololive were a tight-knit co-ed group instead, I’d love it just as much and we likely wouldn’t be having this conversation here.
@@ranstuff12572Why do people like you push the Nijisanji agenda? Like seriously bro?

Naturally both talents and fans want to keep this atmosphere and vibe intact.
It’s all supposed to be a positive environment here, and we should always try and keep it that way.
