When I do my dissertation , I feel helpless about Stata and have a little time to explore it . You give the best guide and explain possible operating issues in 15 minutes . Thank you ,man!!!!!!
Extremely clear, thank you very much! One bit of feedback is that the title of the video could be significantly more informative, so that it is easier to find. That should also drive more traffic to your channel, if that is something you care about. I realise this video is more than four years old and my feedback may thus have long been incorporated.
Te lo agradezco mucho me sirvió mucho para mi tesis. Saludos y gracias desde Chile. i appreciate it very much, it served me a lot for my thesis. Regards and thanks from Chile.
Thanks for the great video. I have managed to present my results from a regression with Odds ratios but I am not sure how to include confidence intervals in the same table. thanks in advance
I am facing a problem while installing the pvar package. I have copy and paste the required .ado files in their respective folders but still not working. could you please help me out?
how can I save the tables in the vertical format instead of horizontal? I mean, I want to put models 1, 2, ... vertically below one another rather than side by side
See www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2009-01/msg01084.html for a discussion of this. That being said, the default setup with models in the columns is the standard.
Dear Sebastian, this is so helpful!! I have one question, I want to include in my table se r2 and t-statistics. How would the code work like ?? Thank you so much. RENE
My guess is that Stata does not have permission to write files in your current working directory. Try changing your working directory somewhere else (documents folder or something) and run the command again.
Thank you very much for this tutorial sir. It's very useful. Please, I ran a Two Systems GMM Model. Is it possible to use estout command to prepare a table that shows the F-Statistics, AR(1), AR(2) and the Sargan Tests statistics? Thank you
Hey, for some reason the last parameter in my data set is not showing up in word even though they are included in the regression within stata. Any idea why? I have a total of 6 estimations and only 5 are showing up
Thanks for the great video, really helpful! One question: I use both, esttab (for regressions) and outreg2 (for descriptive statistics). Is there a way to produce descriptive statistic tables with panel weights? I think many people use weighted descriptive statistics, but I haven't found a way to easily generate those. Thanks so much for your advice!!
Thanks Seb for this useful vid. I was struggling with how can I present my Propensity Score Matching (the unmatched and matched results) in proper professional tables. Any suggestions?
I haven't done propensity score matching in a while, I think estout still works. I used psmatch2 and nnmatch (need to install these from SSC), but there may be something better out there now.
The manual for esttab explains how to add such things: repec.org/bocode/e/estout/esttab.html Stars are included by default. You have to turn them off with the option "nostar".
F statistics for what exactly? By themselves, F stats aren't very informative, since you need to know the relevant critical values to make use of them.
I'm not sure what you're referring to. All the p-values in this video correspond with the t test, which is standard practice for OLS. You would only use the z test if you knew the population variance, which we don't.
Is it possible you forgot to type "eststo:" in front of your regression commands? Before running esttab, verify that you have stored estimates showing up in the Variables pane.
SebastianWaiEcon i did as i said i followed all steps and i noticed that evry thing i got its like what dis you discribed, but in esttab they gave me a table with only nbr of obs. Am using a multilevel models with multiple imputations
There are some problems with combining estout with multiple imputation. You may find this helpful: www.statalist.org/forums/forum/general-stata-discussion/general/1013-esttab-and-mi-no-stored-results

Probably the best explained econometrics and stata on UA-cam! Thank you, man!
You are amazing! A real teacher. Thank you for helping me understand after so many years of using Stata. Be blessed.
you saved me. this command can output all kinds of results!
Your tutorials are amazing. The way you explain things keep the interest. Thank you so much!!!!
I was found this video. I have very happy.

The best video on this topic. Please do more videos on STATA: panel analysis, control variables, multilevel analysis etc etc.
I have a Stata fixed effects video for panel. I also have an Excel video on control variables, but they work the same regardless of software.

you just save my thesis project, thanks
absolute lifesaver mate thanks so much, helps so much with my thesis!
Amazing video. Thanks for the website as well.
Impressive function and understandable explanation
Saving tons of time! I'm so thankful!
I have been benefitted. I am searching for the exact solution.
Thank you so much for, the very clear explanations.🙏

Could you please tell me how to use eststo with psmatch2, pstest commands ?
I am facing a problem while installing the pvar package. I have copy and paste the required .ado files in their respective folders but still not working. could you please help me out?
When I choose the option to display R-squared (r2) or adjusted R-squared (ar2) it stays blanc...
It's very useful for me, Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I'm doing my thesis and is very helpful
Thank you very much guy!!! I followed these steps and done!!!
It's realy interesting, but I have a question, what commands do I have to use, if I want Adjust r- squared?
I'm trying to use esttab but when using b it screws my coefficients unlike estout.
Very helpful thank you! Please, how can I customize the significance level to make *, **, *** signify 1%, 5% and 10% respectively. Thanks
It's in the documentation at: repec.org/bocode/e/estout/esttab.html#esttab009

Dear Sebastian, this is so helpful!! I have one question, I want to include in my table se r2 and t-statistics. How would the code work like ?? Thank you so much. RENE
There is a link to the estout manual in the video description - it's all there.
brilliant - saved me hours of work - thank you so much :)
Good tutorial on estout
this just saved my lifeeee
I have a problem when i want to save it.
I'm using stata in a mac and i have this error
file example.rtf could not be opened
r(603);

I don't know the answer to that. I would recommend looking at the documentation linked in the description.
Thank you very much, So helpful.

Hard to say without seeing your code, but maybe you forgot to add eststo: on the last one?
Thank you very much, very helpful
Thank you very much, it's very useful
Thank you so much it is very easy to follow and helpful!
Thanks, very helpful video.
What about if I want to save a descriptive table? It seems the command esttab is not the same.
You can do descriptive statistics with esttab. See the manual linked in the video description.
Perfect video!! Exactly what I was looking for :)
Bookmarked. Anyway i have tried but why the estout did not appear on variable colum at right side?
If estout is properly installed and you put "eststo:" in front of your regressions, they should show up.
mine didnt work, for some reason it just showed 1 model instead of the 6

Haven't done it myself, but if it can be done with esttab it will be here: repec.org/bocode/e/estout/documentation.html
Thanks for the links, I will check them!

Can you do the same in R?
Look into the Stargazer package for R, which does similar tables as this.
Nice video. I liked it.
How do you reduce the decimal places?
Check out the manual here: repec.sowi.unibe.ch/stata/estout/esttab.html#h-5
@@sebastianwaiecon Thank you very much
how do you add the stars if they are missing? Also, how do you include F stat and SSR?
The manual for esttab explains how to add such things: repec.org/bocode/e/estout/esttab.html
Stars are included by default. You have to turn them off with the option "nostar".
How do you get it to say =1 for the dummy variables?
Use the label option.
thank you, so helpful
Really clear instruction, thank you !!
how could u make a table to compare diceky fuller test for exemple?
I have never done that.
I don't know of a quick way to integrate Dickey-Fuller into estout.
why only one allowed of z, se, p, ci, and aux(), I want put se and F-teat result in a table, but it not allowed
F statistics for what exactly? By themselves, F stats aren't very informative, since you need to know the relevant critical values to make use of them.
I need to show entire regression table in ms word, is there any command get it done?
If you're talking about an esttab table, then you use .rtf as the file extension and then open it up in word.
Thanks very much for this video! It is really helpful! (and very well-explained)
Thank you very much, man!! So helpful.
Mucho appreciated!
Thanks a lot , it is useful
Nice tutorial, but can I report P>|t| instead of P>|z| ?

@@sebastianwaiecon Thanks for replying, I meant to say that is it possible to report p-values instead of T test?
Yes, you can do that. Use the option p when you run esttab.
Thank you very much :)
i followed all steps but it gives me a table without variables, any suggestion please
