Baldomir was practically a journeyman coming into this fight. The two greatest victory in his career came back to back in Judah & Gatti. If he would’ve beaten Mayweather he would’ve truly been the Cinderella Man of our time
Baldomir was a very underrated fighter. Mayweather was just TOO MUCH for him.
He was a Cinderella man. He was too ordinary a talent to beat some one like Floyd, or any other elite fighter who came in shape and focused to fight 12 rounds. Judah could be elite in some nights (his physical talent was elite) but he was very inconsistent.
Baldomir and Guerrero was perhaps the most underrated and often overlooked victims of Floyd Mayweather. Look, Baldomir was the lineal champion and among the top 3 of 147 when Floyd beat him and so is Guerrero but most people and even experts don't give Floyd credit for beating them because according to their stupid logic, they are cherry pick opponents.
Floyd probably best 20 fighters better than Baldomir. He had a cool Cinderella man moment in his late thirties but he was a solid journeyman with double digit losses

True in a way, not true in a way, because Zab was an undisputed champion at 147 and defended that title once, and participated in a undisputed championship fight at 140. I don't think AB has ever participated in even a unifying fight, let alone undisputed.
Facts. Looking back now, he had a much better career than AB.

Baldomir had some interesting setups off the right hand. The fact that he became a lineal champion in his mid thirties (with almost double digit losses) in a sport that throws you in the trash after one loss counts for something. I've been studying his right hand setups, and he's actually quite underrated when looking back at history. He could've been a serious threat for longer in the division, had he found himself earlier. Also, with that in mind he didn't always get full extension on his punches, so his technique was flawed. But his conditioning, fakes, and feints were world class for a period in history. Respects to him-all aside all of the off ring stuff. That's none of my business anyway.
Carlos was nice and the reason others lost is because they underestimated him

Zab doesn't pace himself, he goes flat out in the first half of the fight and never recovers and gets worn down after 7 to 8

@@tresmoove6065 I honestly wasn't impressed with pac in the ab fight, he could of won if he let his hands go and contrary to popular belief Manny was missing alot, but that's been a problem for so long it's hard for me to make an excuse for it. Porter made that fight with ab ugly, I don't think porter wanted to deal with ab hand speed

My card looked exactly like yours, except for R7 which i had 10-9 for Baldomir (there wasn't a knockdown so I was reluctant to make it 10-8, but I see no problem in scoring it that way). My totals were 116-112.
I had it a draw i thought Judah won the 10th, Baldomir wins if you count that round he stunned Judah 10-8 which is understandable but otherwise it was a draw to me
It makes sense now... Zab told Vlad that "Floyd would call him to go running early in the morning and Zab would decline" and that was the difference in "working hard"..

I'm surprised that he got up to 113 punches. He refused to fight from round 7 to the end.

I remember watching this live, and saying to myself in the beginning this was gonna be a long night for Zab 😒 he came in not in top shape (especially compared to how he looked against Mayweather in his next fight, and Cotto 1.5 year later from this). He had little motivation and looked gassed after about 5 rounds in this one. Judges got it right, I had it 115-113 for Baldomir as well.
When he was young I thought Zab was one of the most talented fighters I’d ever seen. Turns out he didn’t have it between the ears

He seemed to be saying, ef you I don't want to touch gloves with you. So he did this very disrespectful glove touch but it misfired and ended up "almost" as a low blow. And of course, haters just decided that it was an intentional low blow, as if he wanted to get disqualified before the fight even started.

What pisses me off most about this fight is this affected the stakes of his fight with Mayweather. Had Judah taken this fight seriously he wins no doubt. He lost his lineal and undisputed status which resulted in Mayweather having to fight Baldomir for the lineal title and also cost an opportunity for Floyd for undisputed. Bottom Line: if Zab wins this fight he and Mayweather fight for lineal and undisputed, Mayweather wins, doesn't have to fight Baldomir for the lineal title and probably ends up fighting either Margarito or Cory Spinks IMO. Smh....Zab

@@thecarguy4304 I think a lot of boxers do it for what they perceive as lesser opponents. This fight was an extreme case but I really think it's a problem that many fall into. Training is hard and it's hard to train to your maximum, when everyone is telling you the opponent is not on your level. It's a touchy subject though because when you go the "they didn't train" route. You are degrading the other guy's performance. Some people get upset over that.

That wasn't a low blow before the fight. Zab Judah tried to hit his glove. That was the part where they were supposed to "touch em up" and Judah decided to do some kind of attitude thing. He ended up hitting Balsomir on the leg and pretty much missing the glove, but also not hitting him in the cup.
