- I'm speaking on behalf of myself and no one else but it highly bothers me when I'm at church and people feel the need to squeal hallelujah, amen, yes Jesus, and thank you Jesus at every pause. I truly wanna know. Why are you doing that? Are you trying to seem holier than the other Christians? you don't think God can hear you? What is it please let me know.

@@polojr2 it’s just so frustrating and I admit I’ve yelled and amen here and there because I’m in agreements with what the pastor is preaching but other than that, I think it’s obnoxious
Stumbled across this video somehow. The reason why we say hallelujah and amen is because those words mean praise God and Let it be. So we are just enjoying God through his word. We have so much gratitude we have to shout. Hope this helps with your question.

Ive been in church for over 40 plus years. A lot of people do it as a way to praise God and a lot of people do it because they are agreeing with what is being said. Theres nothing negative about it usually. Im sure there are some attention speakers but most people Ive seen do it because they are excited about Jesus

That doesn’t happen at all in the congregation I attend. Some amens here and there and then of course where it’s called for. Maybe there’s another congregation you could attend that doesn’t have that or you could voice your concerns to leadership? I could see how that would be annoying, like how it annoys me if a pastor says “turn and greet your neighbor”. Thankfully where I go doesn’t do that either. Mine checks a lot of my boxes of what I want in a church, but there’s still a few things that don’t, however one thing I learned is I’ll never find a perfect church, and if I did, I wouldn’t be allowed in, because I’m not perfect. But sometimes you really do need to leave a congregation if there’s false teachings or it’s not a healthy environment.
@@calebbasile2219 well the church I regularly attend on Sunday doesn’t do any of that besides an occasional amen here or there, but I was visiting this church because I wanted to watch my coworker and his wife get baptized.
