2:50 typical asshole parking - happens too much in Sofia, Bulgaria as well. The local municipality needs to address such issues - a mom with a stroller won't be able to pass through.

Yes , it’s a huge issue here too. There’s no sidewalk left for us! Major bummer in a so called European capital!

This looks like America! :)) Bro, where's this in Bucarest? I don't understand why your skyscrappers are not downtown.

There are a bunch of skyscrapers around Promenada Mall and the new blue towers are close to Floreasca Park - one of the entrances to the park descends right behind the towers. I think there isn't enough unoccupied real estate downtown to build them without having to tear down old buildings, many of which are historical monuments.

How could they be downtown when downtown is the historical center? Or at least what's left of it:). But really no capital actually has the skyscrapers downtown.

basically no European city has skyscrapers downtown, because downtown is usally the old historical center. why the fuck would they tear down art to build when they have plenty of free real-estate outside downtown?

Asa cum a fost( si nimic nu e perfect ) Bucurestiul trecut era originsl, avea un farmec aparte, nu era aglomerat. Acum... nu, merci.

There are "skyscrapers" downtown. In fact, Ceausescu razed 1/5th of the city to build commie "skyscrapers", all leading to the Parliament building. Of course they are not real skyscrapers, but my point is much of the downtown area was destroyed to make way for new buildings. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, the days of totalitarians destroying older buildings at a whim to make way for newer ones are over. Today, we'd need a lot of consent to move people from older blocks in order to make way for newer blocks.

Dear Bucharesters, make your city government spend a little more money on urban development. It's a big disappointment with this ugly pavements, uncontrolled crazy parking, lack of gardening, graffiti, decaying historical buildings literally everywhere. Stunning city with public spaces and urban planning from 70's. It's hurting me to see how Bucharest loosing opportunities. The most precious thing is GDP per capita of Bucharest is comparable to figures of german cities.

... the bureaucratic morons in Bucharest are kind of disconnected from the GDP in the rest of the country... and yet they cant even make the city clean and well planned out. A black hole of money from the rest of the country. Thats why we need decentralization .
Being centralized in a concrete shthole like Bucharest is in my view a left over mentality from the communist era.
Morons had 3 decades to figure things out, they have the most GDP and most funds by far and they cant figure things out, living in a bubble of perception , that maybe the country is heading in a good direction... way too slow if you ask me.
Not a fan of criticism usually , but you have a big point there with GDP being comparable to some german cities... unlike other parts of the country... and yet ... you cant see it but in a few handpicked regions of the city or the black hole budget of useless bureaucrats .

@artodisque I see Politicians that have been for too long in Bucharest, that actually have an idiotic perception that somehow the country is doing fine...thats the most ridiculous thing possible. Get out of Bucharest and travel to smaller cities, and to country side. Of course many of these places may have nicer or cleaner cities than Bucharest, eventually. But the GDP difference is night and day. And if youre trying to say that Bucharest gives away more money than it produces ... dont be ridiculous mate. We need to change the way taxes and regions work in this country... I doubt any modern prosper western country operates like this.
The annoying part is that I see even some ordinary people, or radio hosts or TV hosts from Bucharest that are living in this bubble and actually think everything is well and good in this country... not even close. People are working outside and working for BS cheap ass corporations, that could as well be present in any country, it seems that being members of EU didnt really bring serious companies outside of a few big cities.... And the bureaucrats are sleeping in their offices, cashing in ridiculous salaries and special pensions... they should be the one that have to leave the country instead.

@artodisque Dude please... I may rush type here but I speak 3 foreign languages, probably unlike you... if you want to make this about ... FLeXing.
And since you are condescending right from the start I wont even bother reading your "Wurst" of a reply.
Here are the simple obvious facts...
      - Bucharest is full of useless bureaucrats that centralize all kinds of permit requirements and fiscal checks on the rest of the country just cuz` they can.
      - The main reason Bucharest brings money to this country is the very fact that its the Capital of the country and many international corporations reside there for that same reason. And that's where the good news ends.
      - The Wages are higher in Bucharest than in other cities while everything is poorly managed, including infrastructure.
Whatever, I dont have time to write the obvious, its for all to see if they have a brain.

@artodisque Spammer boy makes it personal. Since you are so salty I have to conclude that you are directly or indirectly part of the bureaucratic problem.
What would make it even better is... if you or your folks also "sleep in the state's boots" .
Im done wasting my time on you ...explaining that roads are made from taxes... pfff , are you a child or something ?

This Floresca looks really impressive. But Bucarest is in huge developing, German towns are already consecrated. What sucks is that such great area in the Romanian capital is not central. Like in German/Dutch towns. Though it's classy compared to many in my Italy.

God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, & abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent.
