    That's beautiful! The spine elastic should be one piece and the closure elastic another. This is how the original is. Your leather colour is a lovely choice!

    First of all, thank you for this video its awesome. To prevent the loop from sliding back through, tie a knot on the inside. Usually its 2 separate elastics for that reason in some notebooks. However, you could do what you did by putting it over the bead (good idea). The bead seen on some of the notebooks you were mentioning is a fastener for the knot/elastic. 🙂 Even though you may not be completely satisfied with it, this is beautifully done.

    @chezlin you really inspire me with your work and I get a great motivation after watching your videos to make things. I am in the age of deciding what to do ahead and I can see myself leaning towards designing. It would be a great help if you shared with me what kind of courses you completed. Thank you very much for being an inspiration to mani such like me.

    You can use sandpaper to bevel your edeges too. WAY easier than using a blade if you don't own an edge bevel tool.

    to use resolene: use a cello sponge and rub it on in a circular motion, do not dunk! rub it in really good and buff with an old cotton sock or lambs wool i've been using resolene for years and love it, plain water will burnish your edges without sharing your dna with everyone.

    You can stick several notebooks under the same elastic thread. Open the notebooks in the middle, put them on top of each other and stick them under the elastic band. :-)

    Could you write down the mediums You used, for the most part they´re clear to me but example that stuff you used to condition the leather after staining, can´t figure out how it spells? This may sound silly question for you, but I´m not natively english speaking.

    You also could have just used water instead of your own saliva.

    • @chezlin
      @chezlin  7 років тому

      Does that work as well? I read that there's something in saliva that helps it burnish correctly... I'm going to feel pretty silly if straight up water works just as well, hahah 😅

      @planningwithjohn 7 років тому

      Ive seen a video here on youtube and they compare a few different chemicals that are suggested for burnished edges and water. They all looked the same. I cannot remember who made the video. Love the look of your notebook.
