Its part of the x-ray machine its connected to the tube head, its the tube thing that sticks out towards the mouth. It leads the x-ray beam towards the teeth. I tried to "draw" it with symbols here 😂 im sorry if this isnt clear. [ ]=---(beam)------- the = part coming out of the [ ] is the PID. Wow this is a bad explanation , ihope you understand

Position Indicating Device, (PID) Tube in front of the tube head that you line up with the Rinn ring when taking the image.
