    I have to say, that despite Jupiter being a gas giant its still speculative to believe it has a rocky core, and even if it doesn't the sheer pressure, is enough to make metallic hydrogen, which is solid. So eventually assuming you could survive the crushing pressure of 100's of 1000's of atmospheres you would land on a surface dense enough to stand on.

      A lot of people wanna colonize mars because it’s the best candidate if we ever want to colonize space and sometimes humans need some optimistic goal to look to. Technology doesn’t develop if there isn’t a lofty goal in mind. Humans tend to always look at the next frontier. Colonizing mars is possible, and it’s possible with technology we already have, but making it economically viable is where the research gets done and that same research is used to heal our own planet.
