@soralution interesting point! I don't think you need to be blown away by a project if there wasn't so much build up, and it seems there has been a lot of anticipation for meovv. And where anticipation meets a mid tier final piece, it's compounded into a bigger disappointment. For example, as nabi mention, nmixx: although their debut grew on me, at first i was like huh? this sucks? Especially with a song that has no real identity or character like this. It gives you NO idea what their future music will sound like. And Teddy not being on the production team at all is odd considering they were labeling this as "his" group.
Teddy is the CEO, Executive Producer,Managing MEOVV, He approved the song and I'm Disappointed but I'll wait for 2nd song🎉 btw Teddy 42%, YG 22% of TBL stakes 2024. YG established TBL 2016.
this "personality is more important than visuals or talent" is the biggest bullsh1t ever, if youre pretty enough and get the basics youre going to debut and if the producers give you great music you will thrive in the industry, and the proof is kpop has visual position and so many idols get hate or lose fans and popularity purely by their looks, if they gain weight or aren't pretty enough
lol , personality and engaging with fans are different . their are so many main vocalist who are good looking but not popular . only ones with charisma too shine more .
Not necessary. There are visuals who were cut actually from debut lineup. There are also not so obviously pretty idols who are very popular. What is definitely truth that attractiveness is not just face, it's personality it's also some kind grace. Also concept play big role whatever highlight well your type of look or not. Well you have idols who just from the perspective of their face should be at the top on the industry like Nana or Sullyoon but for some reason they are not so popular like face could suggest.
they look like rich girls, which honestly makes me not care about them, but there's probably an audience for that, the kardashians are pretty successful

I think many people have high hopes because it's Teddy's company. Actually, the songs composed by Teddy have the chorus that stands out. You'll get hooked after listening to it once. But this song is like a relaxing song, maybe not as impactful. What I feel sorry about is the MV. It still can't bring out the charms of the members that much. Even though the members are very beautiful, the set makes them all look the same. It's quite difficult to tell them apart.
Welcome back, Nabi! I'm glad you took your time to work on yourself and on new projects! You absolutely deserved a break and we're all back here again to support you
Its really good its a good release they hyped the team well in the first 9 days before and the NPOP a side is also good. I am not even a Kpop afficainado but this is good music and a well drilled girl band.
I agree. I think this song would have been better without all the "yeah". When I just mute it in those moments, it sounds l Way better, but becomes even shorter😅
Girlll I just got back too, I've been taking a 4 month break for personal stuff and legit laughed when I saw this is your first upload it's like I never left lmao
One thing about Teddy's music is he knows exactly how to make good earworms. I've noticed that over the years, because there were so many BP songs I felt it was meh, but it just kept getting stuck in my head.
Guys give them time they just debuted same thing is happened with baby monster first now look they are ganing more and more fans with time and Remember music is not a competition it an art we should enjoy music from our artist as a monsteiz hoping for great success to meow❤
I think the music is uninteresting and it's not something worth listening to twice. I can understand who disliked it, but I found it acceptable and had pleasant moments (the pre-chorus and the dance break), but it's still nothing I was expecting for the debut. Taking into account the teasers, I had SO MANY hopes for the MV. They were giving sassy and rich girl vibes and I was LIVING for it, but the mv has nothing to do with it(?). Why are they in the penitentiary? Why is Big Foot showing up? The styling was also super generic and uninteresting. I'm very sad about this because I was excited about them, but there's nothing I can do but hope that their next release will be better in all aspects.
don't get your hopes up for their future releases, I think we gonna get more of the same teddy formula. for example just look at the discography of Somi which is full of teddy sounding songs. I also was fool enough to wait something good from teddy.
Is it bad that I like it? I like the grunge and quality of their voices. I think it’s high time to value deep tone voices coz it sounds pleasing to the ears.
I went to look them up in spotify to listen to the debut and I found another group that's called Meovv??? at first I thought the name being meovv instead of meow was kinda cool since it's more original and looks kinda the same but there's somebody else with that name? how are they gonna do this?
The other is an unknown band from Hong Kong with less than 4,000 listeners im pretty sure whoever made the group name didn’t know that a band has the same name. Plus they created a meaning behind it and connected it to the groups concept. This isn’t rare tbh cause we have blackpink and there’s an Australian rock band named black pink.
Not all people have the same taste of music the song is not bad. But for a majority and not being bias this kind of music won't go to majority of people playlist. For me the song is alright the MV is so so. It's a generic Kpop MV the music is for me a one hit listen I watched more of the intro videos of the member's than the actual MV. But every person is deferent when it comes to music.
Well, I’m not a kpop fan, only a casual listener, and the kind of music I like can be considered “noise music” and repetitive, so maybe that’s the reason why I liked the song, I repeat it every day, but at the moment, I don’t think they are going to be the next big thing, because they didn’t bring anything new
I like the song expect for the yo yo yo😭, the yo yo yo is so cringyyyy! No matter how much I force myself to listen to it I just can’t😭 I wish there’s a version without that yo yo yo😭
first off, welcome back girlie we've missed you! Secondly, I feel like the issue was the girls were given a false start with this debut. The marketing made it seem like they were going to offer us something we haven't seen from TBL or YG, but instead we ended with another Teddy production song (which he apparently didn't write this time). Personally, I think it would've been more effective to give them an EP & maybe release 2 songs (like BP did) so we can get a better idea of what the vision is for the group. Also I think they should've gone a different direction sound wise (maybe something reminiscent of Lee Hi or late 90s pop/R&B).
So many people is just honestly gaslighting them self! 🤭 I see comment and videos that making the debut the best ever come please be honest. The song is not bad but it's not also good, but again it's the first song im still interested of the group and waiting for the next one. The intro videos of the members are more amazing for me than the music and MV honestly. 7/10 for it's a decent score cuz it's not that bad it's just lacking a bit.
meow leave a-not-good first impression at my first listen because that song was that underwhelmed and honestly it sucks because we got "another version" of ddu-du-ddu-du. but as the time goes, i kinda obsessed with this. same case with nmixx's o.o
Annie Moon was cut from the lineup prior to the actual announcement of the group's debut. Whether it was her own choice or the company's is unclear, but people found out pretty quickly after she removed "THEBLACKLABEL" from her IG bio. There are rumors her family played some kind of role in Annie no longer being part of the debut lineup, but that's pure speculation. We'll never know what happened unless she or THEBLACKLABEL says anything
Credited or not teddy is still the head and executive producer of TBL he has the last approval weather the music will be used as their debut or not.. I just cant believe that teddy did not put such effort in his first girl group, maybe teddy was just a great composer/song writter but not in handling his artist ..
, it's funny that the others are clapping because of meovv's song. They say Teddy didn't write the song, it was YG, hahaha if YG wrote that song, is probably very popular even though is being criticized. YG is proven that they did not fail when it came to the debut song of their rookie group. but this is strange meovv More people criticize the song than notice the member's talent here blacklabell made a mistake in choosing the song. no hook no identity stuck Not seen the skill showcasing thier talent of each member it's a shame the charisma and talent of the member ended up being criticized
The song is just batter up but by a different artist. Also the fact that I didn't know Meovv was debuting until I saw their debut teaser and then I didn't know it released 💀
Maybe follow the label if you care that much about knowing before it’s actually out. I don’t think anyone outside of the group and label knew they were debuting until it was announced…. usually how it works, or no?
@@k-sther it's the same type of song like batter up! It's the same structure like song like batter up. I heard Meow and thought "this is another batter up like song"
@@lexbih863 well usually for groups the company would release like solo teasers of the group or members, like some trailer or something but I didn't know that existed either. I'm subbed to a lot of channels so maybe that's why I didn't get any black label updates!
So sad but all this shows is that in fact the industry cares more about visuals than actually showing their idols talents. The girl’s voices are great but 1. The song is ridiculous. Reminds me of Lapilus debut but at a least Lapilus video and music was cool. 2. I thought I was watching a modeling reel The black label was going to send to possible sponsors cause that ain’t a music video. They need a little bit less stoic runway model face cause in some shots their expressions look vacant. 3.Teddy ain’t the genius everyone thinks he is, he just knows how to play the trends and the public but this time he missed the mark really badly. Diversifying your style ain’t gonna kill you, Teddy bear. Unless rage marketing was your goal to which I say, as an advertiser and audiovisual producer myself, works but doing it at the beginning without letting the public form their opinion or even know the details and benefits of your product ain’t a smart move. 4.hyping them to the extent they were hyped just to deliver a run of the mill only pretty faces but not much substance product is entirely the labels fault.
It's not bad song actually, i love it, even repeat it more times. But yes, people will expect more, not same type cool songs that already anywhere for a long time. I agree with the comment said that the song feel like pre debut song. And the fact that this is the debut song and not get many people expectations becomes not too good. Maybe some of them feel tired with the same vibe group without their unique. But yeah, this is still the beginning. Hope we can see more from meovv. So much people recognized them. This group has so much potential. Anyway yeah, i still can see the mv is because Sooin. Her dance is so good and the vibe from her is cool.
Well Somi always had mid songs, for BP the double single wity two styles was so unique and even with the YG formula it was fresh, 2ne1 was a pioneer and BigBang well they helped write some songs so that helps
@@DDKYY even if he did not produce it he is still the executive producer of TBL, he is the one oversees the music before letting it out, We just expected a lot from teddy since its his first girl group turns out he does not even put such efforts in filttering their debut song
Teddy didn’t produce the song. I actually like the song but I can agree for most people it can be underwhelming but let’s be mindful that it is a debut and there is more to come!
Am i crazy for thinking that its..not that bad? Like they look like they actually got the vision, the execution is just not quite there yet. I wish they would fully commit to the rich kids vibe they are going for and make the mv very edgy and crazy. Also love their vocal tones SO PLEASE LET THESE GIRLS SING
2:34 I kind of agree with Hitman Bang there too and no, star power doesn't equate to visuals. There are tons of idols that are conventionally pretty or handsome who are even really talented but they don't have enough appeal to the public. Though I think there should be a balance between star power and talent. There are so much talent in this world that was never given enough recognition because some people just doesn't have that appeal in the public or their music doesn't resonate to anyone. For example, you may agree or disagree with me but as a group, Blackpink are not the most technically skilled singers, rappers or dancers (except Lisa) but they have great stage presence, very charismatic, strong in star quality, has massive public appeal combined with GP friendly music and boom! Lethal combination for success.
The song is okay to me like it has a good vibe due to the great beats but the lyrics are just not giving, it's too short and repetitive. Bm stans have been talking sht about this song since its release but it's really not that bad but definitely not that good. But I'll pick this song over batter up and sheesh anytime.
i meann yes it's good for a debut but alot of ppl preferred sheesh and batter up cuz is more kpop, more yg....but meow was good ngl i rlly enjoyed it even tho teddy didn't produce it so im expecting better comeback ..however it felt a bit empty both baemon and meovv had good debuts and i hope they do better in the future and these toxic stans stop comparing them cuz they were literally friends
I mean not even bm stan also talking shit about this song, even the one who said Meovv Gonna Running BM also disappoint and talking shit about this song. Just because BM and Meovv are compared by people doesn't mean the one who is talking shit about Meovv or BM is the Fans of one of group. Its just KPOP BEING KPOP
Seriously they went from the hype of "the next big thing in kpop, bp sister's , gonna end babymonster etc etc " to whatever this is. I was disappointed but not surprised. I forgot the whole song a few hours after listening to it - forgetful and bland
Well, I think what should be done is to compare their debut (or pre debut) with previous group debuts. That's how you can get a good idea of what they can do in regards to talent and ability. I had fallen for Babymonster because they had a seriously strong debut (and pre debut) as a group with some vocal talent. And they dance pretty good too. And if anyone watched the Last Evaluation, they already know the personalities of the members. I didn't have any expectations from this group, even though it's a brainchild of Teddy's. But this song was...underwhelming for me. There was nothing that stood out from other kpop groups that makes them unique.
NGL, but yeah I am attracted to pretty girls, and a big part of what girl groups I follow most is partly due to how cute they are. I also know not every group can be on the level of Red Velvet vocally, so as long as they can carry a tune I'm OK as long as the songs are good. What I can't stand is lazy songwriting - bland average beats, formulaic lyrics, and generic choruses, or just repeating the same nonsense over and over. I also can't stand people bragging about how much money they have or how badass they are, especially if they are a rookie group. I had not heard of the group prior to seeing the member teasers which were pretty good, and yeah Ella is super hot so of course I was interested. I think when I saw the teaser with bigfoot I had a bad feeling that it was going to be cheesy. It was even worse than I had feared. I feel no need to ever hear it again,
How I see the whole situation Twenty one was a cool group that is why they got popular Then yg decided to get a new girl group after twenty one, hoping for same succes Blackpink got even popular After they kinda separated Yg kinda saw how there was one popular girl group and than another so dicided to pop in another one for them to get popular too But babymonster didn't get that popular Yg panics and makes a new girl group But that flops again
Tbh, I think Fifty-Fifty’s new release is much better and more addictive. I loved Teddy’s early work with 2NE1 and BP, but that impact had long been gone. Since establishing TBL, he must been overworked, with more focus on managing than producing. Which likely explains why his music has declined in recent years. His issue might be that often past success is cling on to and overlooks the need for continued innovation. In music, it’s hard to let go of what used to work and adapt it to today’s trends-which is the challenge.
What are you all talking about? It was actual fire! This song is an actual introduction to them, as stated by the title MEOW. The lyrics were fire. Did you not catch the lyrics stating the characteristics of a cat and how the cat goes to higher places. They're saying they will go higher as a kpop group. Since they are meovv. Also, their vocals are all distinct, and I can clearly hear who is who. You all complain too much. Nothing is never enough for you all. 😂😂 I've seen more youtube videos criticizing kpop groups to do this and that than praising them. SPREAD POSITIVITY PLEASEE ❤

that’s actually great advice omg thanks
Teddy is the CEO, Executive Producer,Managing MEOVV, He approved the song and I'm Disappointed but I'll wait for 2nd song🎉 btw Teddy 42%, YG 22% of TBL stakes 2024. YG established TBL 2016.
this "personality is more important than visuals or talent" is the biggest bullsh1t ever, if youre pretty enough and get the basics youre going to debut and if the producers give you great music you will thrive in the industry, and the proof is kpop has visual position and so many idols get hate or lose fans and popularity purely by their looks, if they gain weight or aren't pretty enough
god forbid people wanting to get to know interesting people
@@nabicoregirl shutup. talent is more important this is music. y’all are part of the reason why idols suck at everything now.
lol , personality and engaging with fans are different . their are so many main vocalist who are good looking but not popular . only ones with charisma too shine more .
They is just the beginning let's wait and see more
And their debut wasn't bad it was okay, I like the song
A NABI COMEBACK? The plot thickens 👀☕✨
they look like rich girls, which honestly makes me not care about them, but there's probably an audience for that, the kardashians are pretty successful
They are Ella is a model for example
yeah that’s what i thought too. it just feels like daddy’s money the group
the group was literally teased as nepo babies.. "yg is debuting a group full of nepo babies" is something that went around in 2023
@@stduupiey’all are so weird just cause these girls have money and are wealthy doesn’t mean they didn’t work hard like Ella trained for 10 years and FINALLY debuted just for y’all to call her and her group nepo babies it’s genuinely disrespectful and stupid

These girls are very talented
Watched their npop performance…it’s only the beginning for these girls and they are going to do an amazing job
They have same gaze and attitude like they're twins 😂
NABI CORE OMG
I think many people have high hopes because it's Teddy's company. Actually, the songs composed by Teddy have the chorus that stands out. You'll get hooked after listening to it once. But this song is like a relaxing song, maybe not as impactful. What I feel sorry about is the MV. It still can't bring out the charms of the members that much. Even though the members are very beautiful, the set makes them all look the same. It's quite difficult to tell them apart.
The teasers, (especially Sooin's) made me feel like the song was going to be HUUUGE.
@@SUMMERSKlESwell, it was a teaser of the members, not the mv
Welcome back, Nabi! I'm glad you took your time to work on yourself and on new projects! You absolutely deserved a break and we're all back here again to support you
Thank you so much!! ily !!
Its really good its a good release they hyped the team well in the first 9 days before and the NPOP a side is also good. I am not even a Kpop afficainado but this is good music and a well drilled girl band.
I agree. I think this song would have been better without all the "yeah". When I just mute it in those moments, it sounds l
Way better, but becomes even shorter😅
The yeah give me headache 😢
They could’ve done so much more with the Cat concept😭
Girlll I just got back too, I've been taking a 4 month break for personal stuff and legit laughed when I saw this is your first upload it's like I never left lmao
I honestly liked the song
Now i want to hear their voice live
One thing about Teddy's music is he knows exactly how to make good earworms. I've noticed that over the years, because there were so many BP songs I felt it was meh, but it just kept getting stuck in my head.
Their debut wasn’t your cup of Tea, and that’s fine. It wasn’t a flop.
Yeah but Somi's discography is actually solid lmao
THE PRODIGAL NABI RETURNS
Welcome back, dear! Hope that your hiatus nourished your spirit.
Song is on Repeat 🔁 Wons, yens & dollars‼️ comma comma comma‼️🐈⬛✨✨✨✨ so freaking good 🔥🔥
Is it bad that I like it? I like the grunge and quality of their voices. I think it’s high time to value deep tone voices coz it sounds pleasing to the ears.
Yes I love their deep voices
I went to look them up in spotify to listen to the debut and I found another group that's called Meovv??? at first I thought the name being meovv instead of meow was kinda cool since it's more original and looks kinda the same but there's somebody else with that name? how are they gonna do this?
The other is an unknown band from Hong Kong with less than 4,000 listeners im pretty sure whoever made the group name didn’t know that a band has the same name. Plus they created a meaning behind it and connected it to the groups concept. This isn’t rare tbh cause we have blackpink and there’s an Australian rock band named black pink.
You would think that they would al least google the name before so this doesn't happen...
literally like they are gonna bury an already established artist
di Indonesia juga ada band dengan nama seventeen dan winner, kedua band tersebut sudah ada sebelum KPop terkenal seperti sekarang.
@@stduupienot really established
Am I the only one who actually likes this song? 😭😭 I swear it’s on repeat since it came out
Not all people have the same taste of music the song is not bad. But for a majority and not being bias this kind of music won't go to majority of people playlist. For me the song is alright the MV is so so. It's a generic Kpop MV the music is for me a one hit listen I watched more of the intro videos of the member's than the actual MV. But every person is deferent when it comes to music.
I loved it 😊
lol
Me too😂
Well, I’m not a kpop fan, only a casual listener, and the kind of music I like can be considered “noise music” and repetitive, so maybe that’s the reason why I liked the song, I repeat it every day, but at the moment, I don’t think they are going to be the next big thing, because they didn’t bring anything new
NABI IS BACK
Great work! Thanks
I like the song expect for the yo yo yo😭, the yo yo yo is so cringyyyy! No matter how much I force myself to listen to it I just can’t😭
I wish there’s a version without that yo yo yo😭
first off, welcome back girlie we've missed you!
I just wanna know what happened to all the great music they were playing in the teasers, I was so excited based on that 😭
EXACTLY
The song is just okay, it passed if i consider it as a pre-debut or side B.
The big foot scene went around my head. I wasn't amazed or wowed. More like I was wtf
NABI CORE COMEBACK!! Please tell me a ivepalooza and IVE Switch review is coming 👀
The song is questionable, but when I saw the performance video, I loved it. Sooin was shining charisma and bad bitch energy.
i agree honestly sooin and narins stage presence made me keep watching honestly
End babymonster . When 😂😂😂
The new intro eats so much
Just fyi , teddy wasn’t credited AT ALL in the comosition of the song , but he co-written it .
Credited or not teddy is still the head and executive producer of TBL he has the last approval weather the music will be used as their debut or not.. I just cant believe that teddy did not put such effort in his first girl group, maybe teddy was just a great composer/song writter but not in handling his artist ..
@@jojojonashiiiiiExactly! Finally someone with common sense! 😁
, it's funny that the others are clapping because of meovv's song. They say Teddy didn't write the song, it was YG, hahaha if YG wrote that song, is probably very popular even though is being criticized.
YG is proven that they did not fail when it came to the debut song of their rookie group. but this is strange meovv More people criticize the song than notice the member's talent
here blacklabell made a mistake in choosing the song. no hook no identity stuck Not seen the skill showcasing thier talent of each member

But I Don't know I love it it was best song for debut and it is kpop it's amazing ❤❤❤
So sad but all this shows is that in fact the industry cares more about visuals than actually showing their idols talents. The girl’s voices are great but
Teddy used to produce songs for BP, Jeon Somi, CL, BigBang,... and now wtf is this?😭the song was so bad
Well Somi always had mid songs, for BP the double single wity two styles was so unique and even with the YG formula it was fresh, 2ne1 was a pioneer and BigBang well they helped write some songs so that helps

Meovv is awesome. All of them are stars.
I have been saying ever since BP last comeback. They need to bring in new writers. Teddy as talented as he is. The music is getting pretty stagnant.
These girls are 🔥 don’t be such a cynical hater
Every idols have visual, but it's not ok to have no talent

If only they had 1 more song which focused on their vocals, they would not have been branded like this
The song is okay to me like it has a good vibe due to the great beats but the lyrics are just not giving, it's too short and repetitive.
Is trending in Africa
WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO MAKE HATE VIDEOS, so sad get a life, nothing good to say then say nothing and move on
i had plenty of good to say in the first half what are you talking about
It is not a hate video
Well, I think what should be done is to compare their debut (or pre debut) with previous group debuts. That's how you can get a good idea of what they can do in regards to talent and ability. I had fallen for Babymonster because they had a seriously strong debut (and pre debut) as a group with some vocal talent. And they dance pretty good too. And if anyone watched the Last Evaluation, they already know the personalities of the members.
I didn't have any expectations from this group, even though it's a brainchild of Teddy's. But this song was...underwhelming for me. There was nothing that stood out from other kpop groups that makes them unique.
😢 they need simon pd
I feel no need to ever hear it again,
How I see the whole situation
Twenty one was a cool group that is why they got popular
Then yg decided to get a new girl group after twenty one, hoping for same succes
Blackpink got even popular
After they kinda separated
Yg kinda saw how there was one popular girl group and than another so dicided to pop in another one for them to get popular too
But babymonster didn't get that popular
Yg panics and makes a new girl group
But that flops again
Teddy didn't produce the song he only contributed to the lyrics
Tbh, I think Fifty-Fifty’s new release is much better and more addictive. I loved Teddy’s early work with 2NE1 and BP, but that impact had long been gone. Since establishing TBL, he must been overworked, with more focus on managing than producing. Which likely explains why his music has declined in recent years. His issue might be that often past success is cling on to and overlooks the need for continued innovation. In music, it’s hard to let go of what used to work and adapt it to today’s trends-which is the challenge.
why did you even tune in to fifi’s new release tho😮
A matter of taste. For me it's the best debut in a long time. I really like the vibes of the song and the group.
Teddy The product was not as co-written as something simple.
