- New York Knicks news is on fire after Brian Windhorst went on ESPN and said that OG Anunoby is not thrilled with the offers the Knicks have made. With the NBA Finals wrapping up last night teams are now allowed to negotiate and re-sign their own free agents. The Knicks can offer Anunoby a deal that would pay him $245 MM over 5 seasons if they wanted to which would be more than any other team in the NBA. Knicks free agency rumors will start to heat up as the NBA season is officially over and the Knicks offseason is set to begin. I'd love to see him back in TO, it would be crazy not to offer him top dollars, he had very few injuries with Raptors, so this injury issue was never an issue there, its the amount of responsibility, added playing time that needs to be addressed, with Hark on board, this should not be a problem, I'd pay OG and Hark before I'd pay Randal.
The Knicks should get rid of the center Robinson Randle OG. They need a center when they foul him he can go to the line and make the shots so they need a center Robinson not a good center.

I think so: anyone who is not focused on making the Knicks champions, who right now puts themselves above the collective goals of the team, should be dismissed.
Anunobi is an important piece, but he is not the only defender in the league nor the best at position 3.
If he wants to receive more than the Knicks can pay, and if he is willing to do so even though he knows it would hinder the Knicks' plans to strengthen the team and become title contenders, then OG is out of alignment with the team's goal and his departure should be considered.
There is no room for vanity and greed in a project that aims for the championship.

I disagree in that the swap of OG and Precious even as rentals for half a year was worth it. Getting out from under RJ's contract and knowing the Quickley was going to be a RFA at the end of the season and would seek, what??? $20 mill a year and a starting role? Quickley wasn't a sure thing to resign and RJ's contract was too big. Even if OG goes elsewhere, acting like the Knicks weren't happy to pull the trigger on the trade even without OG isn't certain. If we hadn't made that trade we'd might still see Quick sign elsewhere BUT have RJ on the books. If OG goes somewhere else the Knicks still won the trade.
Trading for a player who's about to become a free agent is always a risk. But I would rather let OG walk then give him a max contract.
