Just bought me a Stylo plus, Immediately fell in love with the ergonomics of it, and the power from such a little size!! Perfect for carving designs in walking sticks. Great tool and great video
Awesome video, learned a lot thanks again for sharing what you do. I’m so new to this but am loving it and learning from you makes it that much better!
Thank you, Scott! Glad you are enjoying the videos!
Genius idea with that little turntable, I have one but didn't think to use it when I tried to carve... I also learned the trick to take off the gloves easier from your video! Thumbs up and subscribed!

Awesome!!!
Very nice. Appreciate the details and links you provided. One thing you forgot, is the type of stain you used! Not the polyurethane finish, but the stain. Thanks for the video.
Oh gosh! I edited it out on accident 😆. That was red oak stain. Thank you for the kind words my friend! I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
I searched the comments for this very same question to find out what stain he used! Thanks for giving us the info, it’s a beautiful color!
I appreciate you highlighting the differences between the stylo and flex. What color is the stain?
Thank you! Jacobean
Love it. Love your channel.

Fantastic Work.Thank you for your Video.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Nice carving.
Thank you, Mark!
Thanks Matt, good information... as usual! 😁😁😁 I have a couple of questions for you. 1st, what about flap sanding discs? Also, have you done specific videos using the traditional stylus attachment? That's what I have but have only used the Dremel without it. Thx!
Hey there! Thank you for the kind words, Guy! I have used them before and they work great depending on what you need them for. I do have some videos using it, but not a review of it.
😍Y lo has echo en vidrio ya tengo esta herramienta
Thanks for all the tips that you've shared with us over here, it was very helpful for a beginner like me.
Keep going :-)
Glad it was helpful!
Dear Matt, it is a great video as always, thanks a lot. I have some questions. I use marathon (please note that I am not comparing with dremel). After I switched to marathon from dremel 3000 with a hand piece, I realised how big the difference is. Biggest difference is the smoothness of the carving. Did you feel a similar difference between dremel with a hand piece and stylo?
In a small sense, yes. The Marathon is indeed smoother than both of these though!
@@CorneliusCreations Thanks
The veins on the leaf should be more acute angled. Would look more natural that way.
I Agree!
Have you ever tried adding coloured epoxy resin to what you carve out? I'd like to try it for a project, but I have no idea what I'm in for.
Thinking about purchasing one. Does the Stylo handle hole drilling O.K?
Specifically: 1/8 inch holes in plastic. Like food grade plastics that you buy in grocery stores ...
What about model polishing and buffing?
Hi love your work I'm just learning to carve and getting some bits together. Can I ask what the little stand you are resting on is called as can not find them anywhere thanks
Great video. If I only want to etch short words that contain very small letters that measure up to say size 0.4" each, would you recommend the dremel stylo or would you think its best to just use a standard micro chisel or something else? I don't work with wood, only plaster of paris. I don't want to waste money if it's not suitable and there are cheaper ways of doing things. I hope you can help. Thanks 👍
Hey Davey! I’m not sure because I am not familiar with the medium that you are working with. For very fine detail carvings I do recommend carving chisels. I fact, I use them in conjunction with my Dremel. I wish I was more help but I have no experience with the medium you are working with.
I love the feather. I have been looking for the inverted conehead burrs. I cannot find them anywhere. Can you help me find them??
Lasco burrs.
I can't seem to find the conehead burrs in Canada either.
@13:44 The cool way of taking gloves off. I'm still searching for that cone-shaped burr you use to cut straight lines. What is it called and where can I get it?
7:00 this sound makes me want to punch a dentist, I dont know why haha
what grit is the bristle brush you are using ? thanks for you videos .
what kind of wood is it? I don't understand when you say it, by the way I love it!
Hey there! It is Basswood!
Have used resin on you carving project?
Super ! 👍🙏
Thank you love it
Glad you enjoyed it my friend!
Awesome stuff! Lil fuzzies🙂
Haha
Looks great but I think box is sugar pine. Too much grain for basswood.
Matt where can I get one of the Lazy Susan's that your using in this video?
I keep coming back to the video. What burr is you are using? I try to find them online but dont seem to be able to find the right one
Look at the sg1, sg2 and sg250 from Lasco diamond burrs
@@CorneliusCreations Thank you very much!
You are the one that got me to buy a dremel and start woodworking, thank you for all the inspiration you give us
Hello! Is this tool powerful enough to drill glass?
Do you have any videos showing how to refinish, or remove finish from intricate wood carvings with the Dremel? The finish I'm removing is original finish. That was used in the 1800's. Only one coat. Tried Kutzit Liquid Stripper . It only makes a gummy mess. Thanks.
I will try to make a video over it soon.
Cool deal, Matt! So, is the most recent video you told us about, right! Yeah!!👍
Thank you Jose!
Great
Thank you!
Do you find that when you stain the wood all the small brissles from the wood pop up and make a ruff surface?
I have similar system as you but I do this:
1. Sand the surface;
2. carve design;
3.Sand design;
4. stain;
5. Varnish
6. Sand the first coat of varnish that leaves me a smooth surface;
7. final varnish.
I like the use of the beveled bit. I use a .7mm wood bit for most of my work. But i will deffiently try your technique too :) Great content mate :)
That sounds like a good system! I actually sanded between my coats of poly on this one, didn’t show it on camera. Thank you for the kind words my friend!
Nice video! However, I had that universal chuck but I was severly disappointed with it. I had to screw it very hard in order to clamp properly. Then it broke at 3rd..4th usage...
Oh gosh... that’s crazy. Contact Dremel and tell them to send you another one!
Hello, ı'll use it for my little model carvings. What is the sound level for using in home? I used Dremel 3000 and my neihgbors were disturbed by high sound.
I'm not sure about the sound level but I would get the Marathon 111 or the Dremel Stylo
Me encanta¡¡¡¡
Beautiful tutorial 😊does this stylo take 1/4 burr with the attachment ? Thank you in advance
Thank you! It does not 😞
@@CorneliusCreations thank you !
great video...observed something that I know you can clarify for me...at 5:21 in your video you show two bits...where specifically can I get those exact bits...trying to do a straight line with a ball head bit doesn't work for me...Thanks...
I am also wondering where he got these 2 bits?
did you figure it out by chance?
They are inverted cone head burrs. You can get them at the links above in my kit link :)
There are many different Apps that aoprear when I serched for print to size whic exact app did you instaal? who published that App?
Would this work for metal engraving
good morning,
when you start carving at about 5:36 you have a small turn table the box is on. i'm guessing it is a lazy Susan with the non slip pad?? do you have any dimensions for that turntable?? i've been watching for a while and you do terrific stuff.. keep up the great work
great question. too bad he didn't answer
Whats a good speed to run the dremel at for carving?
Looks Great Bud! Where would I find a nice Dremel Bit that makes really sharp points. Meaning I am doing a cross and its almost tribal but my point were not sharp and crisp. I had to Dr them up with an Xacto Knife. Thanks for any and all info.
Use an inverted cone bit and get a set of rifflers.
Cornelius Creations Ok Thanks. I’ll have to check them out.🤝
Hello
Please explain the work of each feather separately before working
I may have to make another tutorial :)

@ 5:20 where can i get these 2 BITS ????
Where to get the inverted cone burrs because I can't find them?
Dremel makes small round burs for there tools, they will do the same thing.
I have the Stylo, based on your recommendation. I also ordered your Spartan template kit yesterday. I'm a little disappointed though because you never tell us where exactly to buy those two inverted cones you are using, and what grits they are. Could you please do it just to take care of the people who subscribe and buy your products?
Hey there! Thank you for your support! I have that info in many places, I may have missed the info in some videos. You can get those at lascodiamond.com they are the sg1, sg2, sg250 in 150 grit (3/32 shank size)
The sound reminds me of dentists:!lol
Haha yes
Hi Just found your site and subscribed. I've clicked on the Amazon link for the Dremel. But It's bringing up a plastic craft box for a child full of papers and crayons. Perhaps because i'm in the UK. are you using the Dremel F0132050JB 2050 Stylo+ Thank you. I'll get back to watching your videos. Very inspiring! Thank you. :)
Thank you for the kind words my friend! Yeah if you are UK sometimes the links will be wrong :(
Foredom has a hand piece like this
Quite the artist bud. You forgot to have the tongue sticking out of one side of the mouth while sketching out the feather. It’s a sign of a true artist. I do it all the time. Even when carving. Dust masks taste terrible, by the way. Lol. Nice craftsmanship sir!
haha! Thank you sir!
Is the stylo attached in a rotary or is it just plugged in power plug?
It is plugged in with a power plug
@@CorneliusCreations thank you
Bro what was the app you use for size picture and print it?
It is different for android and microsoft
Where do you get your box's?
Just found them...lol
Haha yes, hobby lobby and Amazon
Which MINWAX are you using to color it @ 11:53 min ?
Red Mahogany
Ciao scusami, hai messo l'impregnante e poi lucdatura finale? che prodotti utulizzi? grazie
For stone can ?
No, not with this tool. You need something more powerful.
@@CorneliusCreations mybe dremel 3000 ya
Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Thank you!
I can't Draw so im going to have a problem carving
What is a paint name?
Minwax stain
👍👌👌👍
👊🏻👊🏻🔥🔥💥
You`re a great carver and I like your videos but your dust mask isnt doing much good because you have facial hair, so you cant get a tight seal around your face. Try the resp-o-rator. Its a snorkel like mask and cost less than 20 dollars for the jr model. They work great. PS...This is not an ad. Just someone who cares.
That’s a great idea Dan! I appreciate your input. This is something I’ll definitely look into. I appreciate your kind words my friend!
So. An advert for Dremel.
Not at all, giving an honest opinion.
@@CorneliusCreations Didn't Dremel popularize this type of rotary tool in the first place? That's the generic name I give rotary tools; they're all "a Dremel." I remember when there was a kind of boom for these years ago. Because of that, I consider them the go-to, and everything else is a sort of knock-off. (I've got a "knock-off," and feeling lately I should've picked up an actual Dremel.)
You are right
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
👋👋
Jesus is Lord 🙏
Sir, this is a Wendy's
You are totally right Matt when you say that, its not easy to carve with flexible shaft . Its a little bit heavy. I will think about buying dremel stylo. :)
If you keep your demands reasonable it is an awesome little unit!
Can you please tell me if you have the link to the small torch blower you used. Would love to have one. thank you
so... Dremmel 3000/4000 with flex or Stylo? Vote!!
Your audio, video, camera angles, lighting, scripting, presentation are great - but with that heavy Brooklyn accent, I believe that you should gently accompany your videos with Bluegrass music ; )
Hahaha thank you! That isn't a Brooklyn accent... It is an Arkansas one! 😆 I wish my music place did have some bluegrass music or I so would!
@@CorneliusCreations I, and probably most folks know that your heavy accent is far removed from that of a Brooklynite , and there’s no Bluegrass culture there (or appreciation thereof) - I was just kidding with you in good nature.
Love your vids, bro’!
I do a lot of home chemistry, I'm going to use that method of removing nitrile gloves now that I've seen it 😳
