    Dear Matt, it is a great video as always, thanks a lot. I have some questions. I use marathon (please note that I am not comparing with dremel). After I switched to marathon from dremel 3000 with a hand piece, I realised how big the difference is. Biggest difference is the smoothness of the carving. Did you feel a similar difference between dremel with a hand piece and stylo?

    • @CorneliusCreations
      @CorneliusCreations  4 роки тому +2

      In a small sense, yes. The Marathon is indeed smoother than both of these though!

    What about model polishing and buffing?

    Great video. If I only want to etch short words that contain very small letters that measure up to say size 0.4" each, would you recommend the dremel stylo or would you think its best to just use a standard micro chisel or something else? I don't work with wood, only plaster of paris. I don't want to waste money if it's not suitable and there are cheaper ways of doing things. I hope you can help. Thanks 👍

    • @CorneliusCreations
      @CorneliusCreations  2 роки тому

      Hey Davey! I’m not sure because I am not familiar with the medium that you are working with. For very fine detail carvings I do recommend carving chisels. I fact, I use them in conjunction with my Dremel. I wish I was more help but I have no experience with the medium you are working with.

    Do you find that when you stain the wood all the small brissles from the wood pop up and make a ruff surface?
    I have similar system as you but I do this:
    1. Sand the surface;
    2. carve design;
    3.Sand design;
    4. stain;
    5. Varnish
    6. Sand the first coat of varnish that leaves me a smooth surface;
    7. final varnish.
    I like the use of the beveled bit. I use a .7mm wood bit for most of my work. But i will deffiently try your technique too :) Great content mate :)

    You`re a great carver and I like your videos but your dust mask isnt doing much good because you have facial hair, so you cant get a tight seal around your face. Try the resp-o-rator. Its a snorkel like mask and cost less than 20 dollars for the jr model. They work great. PS...This is not an ad. Just someone who cares.

      @@CorneliusCreations Didn't Dremel popularize this type of rotary tool in the first place? That's the generic name I give rotary tools; they're all "a Dremel." I remember when there was a kind of boom for these years ago. Because of that, I consider them the go-to, and everything else is a sort of knock-off. (I've got a "knock-off," and feeling lately I should've picked up an actual Dremel.)

    You are totally right Matt when you say that, its not easy to carve with flexible shaft . Its a little bit heavy. I will think about buying dremel stylo. :)

    Your audio, video, camera angles, lighting, scripting, presentation are great - but with that heavy Brooklyn accent, I believe that you should gently accompany your videos with Bluegrass music ; )

    • @CorneliusCreations
      @CorneliusCreations  Рік тому

      Hahaha thank you! That isn't a Brooklyn accent... It is an Arkansas one! 😆 I wish my music place did have some bluegrass music or I so would!

      @@CorneliusCreations I, and probably most folks know that your heavy accent is far removed from that of a Brooklynite , and there’s no Bluegrass culture there (or appreciation thereof) - I was just kidding with you in good nature.
      Love your vids, bro’!
