- The 80th in my Retro Goa Explorations series of videos in which I present some of my favourite 'Goa Trance' tracks from the '90s.
In this series, I go back to my first experiences in the Goa Trance electronic dance music movement starting in late 1994, drawing upon my recollections of hearing specific music at certain events and using my classical music background explore the elements that I believe make these tracks so great.
The series is currently focused on music I first encountered in the '96-97 season, starting in September 1996, when I moved to London. This track was a massive hit at the time, the introduction to a fantastic project that went on to make a huge impact: UX (Ultimate Experience) with their breakthrough track, Master of the Universe. After I give some details about the project and a lot of background detail about this particular track - including showing a clip from the 1957 SciFi movie that was the source of its now legendary spoken sample - I present the music simultaneously with my observations; after some closing remarks, I then share the track without commentary.

Wow just wow this track...I was studying sound engineering back then, when a teacher asked all the students to bring in a favourite track production wise, i blasted this one. Most of the students were like wtf is this, but the teacher was impressed. He said he liked that cd glitch sound, found it brilliant. And as you said, chris did this by messing up the cd...I thought they edited it, as far as listening this in a club, wow... What an amazing experience, i loved your interpretation about the master of the universe sample being empowering , felt exactly like that

I think that melodie in the breakdown was originally from a Halucnagen track,the B side is very good as well...
One of the absolute best tracks.
I had shivers run down my spine when I saw the title of the episode include UX! The epic remix of this track has, what I think, a more satisfying ending. UX has a really cool dark sound, gives me mfg - project genesis vibes, which is another really dark sounding album. I love it I love it I love it!
