idc what anyone says, i just want catra to find some happiness. i get what she did was wrong, but like i still feel bad for her?? catra is my favorite character, and i loved and hated her slipping into insanity. i have some hope she'll at least get redeemed into an antihero/dark hero.

Characters like Catra are always so fascinating cause to people like them the goal is not to win and it’s not to be happy, but it is instead to make sure that everyone else looses even at the expense of their well being. There’s nothing more dangerous than an enemy with nothing left to loose and doesn’t even care about themselves
Rewatching these really makes me realize the tragedy of the whole portal dimension thing. That glimpse into the sort of world Catra wanted.

Catra's actions make a lot of sense when you realise that her relationship with Adora was based on her constantly testing Adora, and Adora constantly passing the test. Whenever Catra was upset or scared or angry, she ran away or lashed out - and Adora would always come for her. Adora followed and made her feel better. After all, she was raised in the Fright Zone, where your status is determined solely by how well you do in testing; it's hardly surprising that Catra would fall into the same mistake with her personal relationships (at least, the ones that mattered).
From Catra's perspective, Adora left her behind. She failed the test when she left the Fright Zone, and Catra lashed out in fear and anger. Then that lashing out got her the status and praise that she'd been longing for from the Horde, so she kept doing it. And it kept working...until it didn't.
It wasn't until Adora finally came back for her that things went right again.
Not my take. She doesn’t really test Adora that much, lashing out is just part of Catra’s response to trauma. The main reason she “turns” on Adora is that she believes Adora already turned on her. To Catra, love is finite, and Adora does not love her anymore, and has abandoned the one person she promised to protect

Ahhh this is so good but heartbreaking 😭😭😭 Catra went through so much that she had nothing to lose. She was abused by shadow weaver and then the only person who mattered to her left her. Like I know she did a lot of bad stuff but she is just so broken she just wants to be loved

Catra was severely abused and manipulated character by Shadow Weaver , a kid , a toddler, a baby who was stolen by the horde with the order to die unless she was useful to Adora. She was threated from Shadow Weaver for all her life. She was taught to hide her love to be sharp and hard , abusive and tricked . She learned to fake er feelings, put a facade to stay untouchable. To stay whole , to keep herself together and later, to put herself together, because she broke. She broke the moment Shadow Weaver threatened her with her life when she was young, not even when Adora left. Adora was just the final blow, the last string that held the girl together, the only person who could stick together her shaddered pieces .

I think she wanted to say , you were everything to me. Because she was everything to he. Her support, a shoulder to cry when Shadow Weaver pulled her to the Chamber room to torture her , to ruin her to fill her lack of self- consiousness with dark , black magic .
Catra , was the one who asked Glimmer to end her life. She finally gave up on herself . She saw no future foe her What would she do ?
cooperate with Prime to het on top? She is broken . They broke her. They broke a child , who was all alone. Whose cries of help were silenced by an evil witch who saw nothing but a toy , a pet for her own golden child.
Catra is broken. They broke her , and her resue from Prime only gave her an opportunity for life, a lie she no longer wanted .

Season 3 is why it pushed Catra down a dark path in episodes such as "Moment of Truth" and "The Portal"

I love catra... it seems they put catra as a sign of depression and loneliness (basically the same) SHES been treated wrong her whole life... she was disowned by shadow weaver and she was betrayed over and over in the end she gave up from all of her life stages we are all happy she had found happiness in the end.. we all love her ❤️

She really loves Adora, but she does feel jealous, maybe because she hasn't had the same attention that Adora has / has had for so many people. But she (Catra), always had Adora's attention, love, affection and understanding, from what I saw.

Yes, she was very bad with everyone, I'm not dismissing what she did bad. But I think that now she is trying to redeem herself, and to find out if she has really changed, we need to give her a chance to show that she wants to change.

Why do I relate to Catra so much...
Can I just say that in these shows, and I mean literally every TV show EVER where two people that used to be close are on opposite sides, they fight with the intent to kill. In this, Adora swings at Catra with her sword multiple times, and if Catra didn't have such amazing reflexes, she would've been killed. Adora probably attacks with the knowledge that Catra has strong enough defenses, she won't actually get that hurt. But Catra? Catra could easily kill Adora if Adora wasn't expecting it. I'm just imagining a story where maybe, just maybe one of them misses a beat and is actually injured by it. They are fighting with such hatred, but if one of them were to actually pull the trigger and successfully defeat the other, would they feel any remorse at all? Anyway, thank you for listening to my Ted talk.
I agree with you for the earlier seasons, but once this series reaches the final scene in this video where Adora is glaring at Catra...I think Adora is fighting with the intent to kill from then onward until glimmer gives Adora hope of Catra changing for the better.

Catra used to be my favorite character and my favorite waifu, but now I see why she isn't my favorite character after all when it comes to Season 3 because episodes like Moment of Truth and The Portal caused her to be pushed on a slippery slope into becoming a monster, a VILLAINOUS MONSTER like Sunset Shimmer in Equestria Girls' first film (Even though Sunset was reformed in Rainbow Rocks). And in fact, she even taught Finn the Human the same thing back in 2011 where he created a black hole that nearly destroyed the Land of OOO thanks to the Glasses of Nerdicon in the Adventure Time season 2 episode: The Real You. So, I don't know about you, but If you ask me? Season 3 was a very dark season for Catra, because it takes her down a dark path *HARD.*
Adora is just as destructive as Catra if you actually think about the whole show it's just self destruction she was raised to think her needs and wants do not matter but still while Catra was naturally destructive so it easier to see where needs help

Evil isn't born, it's made. Catra wasn't born a bad person, she was made a bad person by Shadow Weaver's abuse. I'm betting that if Shadow Weaver treated her better, she would have been a good person, like Adora. Catra at this point is at the brink of insanity. She needs help, whether she likes it or not. I hope Catra realizes that and will try and be a better person.
@Daydreamermagicgirl Oliveri because shadowweaver is petty and unable to be satisfied with what she has. Some people see themselves in a youth and want to help guide them so they don't repeat their mistakes. Others, like shadowweaver, can't stand the idea someone like them can have it better than they did and take their frustration and resentment out on that person.
And yet.... she chose to stay with Shadow Weaver and go back to that toxic environment instead of having the courage to walk away from the Horde and the security of their oppressive power they held. She only saw their relationship one way, the way she preferred it, even though it’s sad to see these two once life long friends have a torn gap in they’re relationship and is only getting deeper and wider with every decision they make, with Catra becoming more darker for it. But she chose to keep feeding that darkness with her jealousy, frustration, sadness, and pain she has for Adora instead of relenting and staying with Adora as her friend, instead of she kept staying with the Horde by choice.

anonymous same. She had such a horrible upbringing. If she only went with Adora when Adora said “You can come with me.” In the second episode none of this would have happened. Catra was manipulated, is manipulated, and manipulates. She probably even manipulates herself. She’s fallen down a deep hole and I don’t know if she can get out. She might be to far gone. Idk. Im nervous/scared to see what happens in the next season.
These characters need super therapy after the show
I'm just glad that something in their relationship has definitively changed. If it had kept going like a friendly enemy relationship, we never could have organically found our way to a romantic relationship. Now that Adora has given up on her, I think Catra can begin to understand the importance of Adora to her. Honestly, that glare at the end gives me hope.

Oooooh, damn! I just remembered I was confused when they collapsed the portal and we saw Catra wake up and rub the left side of her face. I was thinking she was feeling her face for that corruption. I was confused because, wasn't her dark form on the other side? But this video showed me the truth. She was feeling where Adora punched her. Ouch.

Jettheeman96 shes definitely at her lowest point, but i dont think shes Azula crazy. Catra has more heart than Azula ever did. She's going to get her redemption, it just takes time. Shes lost everyone now, so shes gonna have to suck it up and own her mistakes. Thats step one.

Jettheeman96 I'm not the writer, so i don't know how they'll go about it, but she'll get her redemption. I'm almost certain of that. You have to hit rock bottom often times before you can climb back up. We have plenty of seasons to go still.

Every person is not born evil, it is how we are treated, how experience the world around us, the people we me and the path's we take, the chooses we make in life. Catra was abused, mistreated, always forced to live in Adora's shadow and yet the only good thing she had was Adora's friendship and the dream they both shared. But on that day Adora picked up the sword and turned against the hord that was the moment she felt more betrayed by anyone. After that Catra had to constantly to battle against Adora and after losing to her over and over she snapped, Catra had nothing left to lose. Now all she left... Is hate. Catra's story is a sad and tragic one. But let us all hope she can one day see the light and become a good person if she choose to try.

@@saramcmurtrie3955 it's was not as easy for Catra as it was for Adora to leave. Adora didn't pay the consequences for her leaving but Catra did, and it's not easy for the victime of abuse to see that the person you were look over, compared and that turned a blind eye to your abuse, just makes a decision and lefts you behind, it's hard not to take it personal even when for Adora's the decision was made based on her morals. From Catra point of view, at least i see it that way, Adora couldn't stand watching all the people behind enslaved and hurt by the Hord but she could stand by and do nothing when Catra was being abused? I guess that's why Catra it's more relatable, yes some people would say that been abused doesn't excuse your behaviour, but it does shape you and the decisions you make.
Honestly all I need is a hug from someone and telling me they'll come back together..

Whirlwind Drawings it's even Sadder when you realize Aimee Carrero's other character Elena is also going through this with Esteban at the same time. Esteban also developed Self-destructive tendencies that dug a deeper grave between him and Elena, just like what Catra did with Adora, and both of Aimee Carrero's characters can't find it in themselves to forgive the person they become estranged from.
This ripped out my heart and stamped on it, kudos.

I think Catra did know what she did and what was happening, but didn't want to accept it (When they were on the roof thingy). And when she did, she just got mad and the way she was before. I really wanted Catra and Adora to be friends again, I really expected it, but it seems like we will have to wait next season. (Which there will be, judging by the end, and this season was really short) This season was by far the best, shortest and emotional. Alot of relationships fell apart and so did my tears.
Glimmer lost her mom. Hordak thinks Entrapta betrayed him( I just started shipping them ;-;). Scorpia doesn't really "like" or look up to Catra anymore, or the way she did. And then there's Catra and Adora. I really hope things get sorted out between them SOMEHOW, Catra has to realize she doesn't want to "destroy" Adora.
Mildly Suffering Catra definitely knew it wasnt real, but she wanted Adora back so badly and to have this perfect life. Its why she broke down when Adora figured it out and wanted to leave again. They'll get there tho. Catra just has to be the one to redeem herself. The whole season was great and we should have 4 more that are 6-7 episodes per season.

I don't understand why catra would want to remain at the fright zone even before shadow weaver left the horde and after all she's done to catra when she could've just left with adora. She would've found happiness in bright moon just like adora did and would change from bad to a good person, plus it would've made sense if she left the horde cause then they'd be no more shadow weaver treating her like trash
P. M. She’s trying to prove herself and be out of adoras shadow. In her mind, adora left her for people she barely knew. Why would she want to follow her? And now she had a chance to prove herself with Adora out of the way. Shadow Weaver is her only mother figure and she just wants her approval. Yes it’s abusive, but often times victims seek validation from their abusers. It’s not as easy as just leaving the horde, even tho that’s what we all want her to do.

It pretty much made me cry of how Shadow Weaver abused Catra and she would be such a great person right now if SHADOW WEAVER DIDN'T DO WHAT SHE DID IN THE PAST. And no I'm talking about before she started wearing the mask. Shadow Weaver had only one simple reason to abuse Catra. Catra reminds Shadow Waver of herself and that is why she has abandoned the Horde. So if anyone is about to comment Shadow Weaver just loves Adora more then you are wrong. Scorpia is also a princess and Catra is the Ex- Best Friend of one. Princess Scorpia, Shadow Weaver, and Catra still care for others because they know who they truly are. Themself. And their true self is not evil or selfish. They thing hey belong with the Horde when Princess Scorpia and Princess Entrapta should rejoin the princess alliance and Catra should stay in the castle or do something. Shadow Weaver already understands. 😁
Adora was raised by Shadow Weaver to and is just as destructive but it is self destruction and she came out a better person
After watching a recent episode of Elena of Avalor, this scene is a lot harder to watch; I mean, both of Aimee Carrero's characters have fallen out with someone they considered family, and they even hate that person.

Khushi Patel while Catra’s abuse and upbringing explains why she acts the way she does, she is still responsible for the bad choices she makes. So it’s not her fault for how she was raised, but it is her fault doing all these bad things.

This is some heavy stuff. It's obvious that this is a broken friendship that both deep down want to fix.
Okay.... now I see.... what the problem is between those two.... and it sucks.... Catra only see’s this as one way..... she didn’t have to stay with the Horde, she could of went with Adora and still sticked together and be friends, but she only wanted their friendship one way with the Horde, while Adora didn’t agree with the Hordes methods anymore. And as tragic as it is seeing these two life long friends become bitter enemies on opposing sides.... it’s Catra who’s essentially being selfish and choosing to suffer and stay with the Horde instead of supporting and comforting Adora and that’s the dividing difference, Adora has actual compassion for those around her while Catra chose to stay in that toxic enviroment and feeding her own jealousy, pain, and frustration.
Adora was right.... she made her own bed.... now she has to sleep in it.... and yet.... I still can’t help but feel sorry for poor Catra and her lack of self-esteem and her need to lean on some kind of crutch.

I pity Catra, I really do but I am not buying any sort of redemption ark for her unless she genuinely wants/tries for it. She's been given so many chances and spit on them every time, she nearly destroyed the world just to spite Adora! Maybe she can change, maybe she can't, either way it's going to take a lot of work for her.
