@Luke Actually I did pay too much. I knew I was at the time too. I just didn’t have the patience to wait for a deal. Lol. Now I am super stoked about the Sequential Pro 3.
Love your playing matey. Just got a JUNO DS for live stuff as more practical than the S8... BUT ... My God this is next on the list! Keep up the demos..!
Love it. I'm not big on the Jupiter or Juno engines/emulations cause I have actual analog gear for that but the System 8 engine and FM capabilities...they really have their own identity and like I said previously I think that's where this synth's strengths are: unapologetically digital sounds.
Great Demo, keep making these videos! If you had to choose between Roland JD-XA and System 8, what would you get(Looking for a Synth complimenting my Roland RD-800 on stage)? I just love the accessibility of the system 8, but i feel like the JD-XA is much deeper (and has aftertouch)... I am really struggling with this decision, because they both sound great to me in their own right. Kind Regards!
Liked the presets form the two plugouts much more, I think this ones doesn't show much. Great video anyway and thanks for the effort, I am getting a System 8 :)
At 5:43 you had to pause the groove to activate the modulation by the lever. That‘s why I‘d never buy a synth without aftertouch, not even an otherwise good one like the S-8. Enjoyed your harmonies and virtuosity though. :)
Aftertouch is much harder to control than a modwheel though. By definition can only activate it after you’ve played a key, and even then you only have a very shallow amount of travel. If keeping your hands on the keyboard is your goal, an expression pedal is far better. I like aftertouch too, but it’s no substitute for a modwheel or pedal.
And then there are people from Mars with 3 hands who just don‘t know how to use AT. Of course you need to decrease the mod amount in the matrix compared to those controlled by other devices. Example: AT pitch bend, range 2 semi-tones on a mono synth while playing chords on another keyboard.
I love your videos, Mike. That funky synth sound is on the money.
Like the last comment, I'm getting one too, and your video tipped me over the edge.
Thank you Say What! Oh wow, enjoy!
Yet again Mr Pensini you just cost my bank account $1,500.00. I am sold. Great sounds. Great playing. Inspiring for sure.
Haha, thanks Richard! My apologies to your bank account! ;-)

Thanks man. Plenty more content to come.
I really like the Aira gear from Roland even though some have their reserve about them.
Yeah it's cool stuff :)
great playing !!!
Thank you Jerome!

They're both great synths man, it depends what kind of sounds you're going for and your workflow when programming sounds.
Great Synth and a nice demo !
Thanks John!

@Luke - Congratulations for being a prick.
Tell Roland they need to cut you your check! I just bought one too 😂
Let them know!
