I used to own a Ten Man Arctic Tent with liner, Army surplus. It was a great tent, but it was a bit too heavy for me to set up as I was getting older, so I sold it. If I were to buy another tent, it would definitely be one of these. You can’t beat a canvas tent!
They had a woman in a video who lived in a springbar tent for 5 years in a off-grid van community. Still holding up strong. She had a mini van went to work came back everyday. I did a Google search to compair with Kodiak the first time I seen a Springbar
FYI Springbar was originally AAA (Triple A) tent and awnings. Grew up camping in one! Excellent tents. My neighbor retired from there. That one from the late 60s early 70s were Heavy Heavy. Lol Well worth it though.
You can use ANY brand stove in this tent. They recommend these because they've partnered up and that's the only reason. Great looking tent though. I'm definitely going to be getting one sooner than later
The Springbar tent looks like a great investment. It would be fantastic additional living space once you make it to your camping spot. The company has really thought of everything.
Great tent. :) I love Winnerwell too. I have the large woodlander with glass on 3 sides and have used it for a couple of years now on a fireproof mat like that with the silicone stove jack. so beautiful to view the fire and no trouble to clean at all. I have mine in a wall tent by ozark trail, 10x12 was about $500. But probably not comparable to the longevity of the quality of Springbar. Has done well though for 2 yrs in med to strong wind.
Thanks for doing this video Bob and singing the praises of Springbar tents!! I have a Springbar 10 X 14 at least 30 years old and quite possibly older that's in excellent condition and I LOVE this tent. It has the suspension system inside of the tent instead of outside. It still uses the same tension system principle just inside. It would be interesting to see if I could send the tent back to them and they could modify the tent to utilize the current design. If there is one thing I could add DO NOT look at the cost of any USA made Springbar tent. They are worth every penny they charge for their tents. If you're a week end camping fanatic or a "nomad" a Springbar can be passed down for at least two family generations! A Kodiak doesn't come close to the quality of a Springbar. Recently I was camped next to a couple using their Kodiak 10 X 14 for the first time. Of course I shared with them I had a Springbar 10 X 14 also that was quite possibly 30 years old or older and still in excellent condition. The owner was having trouble putting the tent up and I noticed it did not have the rope sewn in for the stake loops and the poles used to hold the tent up were very cheap, thin aluminum that bowed slightly under pressure and not adjustable. Just like investing in a house when you buy a Springbar tent it's an investment in a product that will bring you many, many years or more of sheer family enjoyment and memories. Did I mention how much I LOVE Springbar tents? 😁😁
I have a 10x10 Kodiak tent and like it a lot. What I see in this video is innovation in terms of the smaller details mentioned and the "convertible" stove pipe panel. Repairability is also a big plus. Accidents and aging happen. The Kodiak has its points but I really like seeing a successful designed further improved upon such as Springbar has done here.
Very nice, I love the head room it has, high quality not made in China.I love even more that it is made here in the USA with materials sourced that are also USA made. Thanks for this video Bob.
I have Kodiak Canvas Tent which is very much like this 10x14 also but no stove option. I'm loving this as when ever I need a new tent , I'll be buying American Made.
Awesome Video Bob! I bought a tent labelled as a Coleman tent the splitting image of the Springbar construction in 1984 in Australia. Same fabric, colour, triangular windows. A fantastic tent still operational today. It is so similar it must have been made by Springbar for Coleman.
We had the Coleman too, back in the late 70s or early 80s. I believe the windows were on the ends, and I don't think it had any awning. The springbar design was so easy to put up.
I bought the classic jack 100. Was looking at the 140 but don’t need the fireplace because then you have to haul the tent and plus the wood stove and then firewood. To much hauling around for heat. Get a butane little heater and more storage to haul things
I have 2 more years to work and am now already researching, plan on 2 years on the road again. Spent my youth as a hitchhiker in the 70s and 80s. After all these years as an artist, photographer, teacher, social worker...2 more years working in Poland then back to North America to go on the road again
I own a different Springbar tent, and the winnerwell stove,, they aren't kidding, the stove is absolutely wonderful in cold weather. It totally enhances the winter camping experience. I'm seriously considering this tent.
Something good finally coming out of Utah. Thanks for your donation and new tent design. Maybe we will be buying a spring bar finally, I have wanted one for years.
After talking to Mike at the factory we decided to not do the hot tent. Depending on what you burn the tent takes on the Smokey wood smell. Not always nice for years and then the food factor makes it smell. Canvas breathe but I wanted a clean tent. So we bought the family and went with a propane heater. Now we don’t have to lug around the stove and we love love the result. That’s just what works for us. I like the wider door but not for sleeping. It’s just you and a screen between the outside. We have a huge window next to the door that runs the height of the tent. I call Springbar often for advice. There is even a company you can call in Arizona that can retro fit a bit tent window. Remember though you CANT buy a springbar stove alone. It’s an insurance liability thing. In other words some may try to buy the stove to use in a small tent which would put them in a lawsuit. Great great great company. These tents will last long over 30 years. Especially if you aren’t cooking in them.
Look at using a diesel heater. Propane works well but diesel is better and not that difficult to set up, I used a Big Buddy for several years in my Springar 10 X 14 with no issues but it does put out water condensation that's common to propane..
@@alanosborne1947 we were going to do the same Alan, but then watched several long time campers who did diesel and got rid of it for only one reason. They said sooner or later you get just a small spill and the smell never goes away from inside truck or what ever you have it in. That way our reason. We researched hundreds of videos and companies before we decided. But In the end mr buddy is the biggest rip off of ever . People burn through so many of these. Glad you like the diesel. We don’t have a truck so it would be in our car and diesel smell makes me a little yuky feeling.
I have bought a Springbar tent, love it. I didn't get this particular one because i don't intend on camping in winter. But, I would invest in it if I were up for that.
Nice tent. I like that the entire wall near the stove is fire treated material. I would have liked to have seen what the included gear & loft accessories look like installed to show available headroom. I would consider purchasing one as a gift for a couple I've been friends with for many years, but the male recipient is 6'5". One thing I am not a fan of is the top half of the door. You can only walk in/out standing up in the middle. I always prefer to support my country and very much like that it's made in the U.S.A. Thank you for the video.
Wow, I have never seen a wood stove in a tent before. I have always had a small half dome backpacking tent. Sure would be nice to have one I could stand up in.
Thanks for this excellent review. Nice to see alternative to RVs and vans. The video is a little misleading about where the Springbar tents are manufactured, as it implies that all their tents are made in the USA. The fact is that their higher priced tents are made in the USA, but they have many lower-priced tents that are made in China.Their website lets you know where each tent is manufactured. I'm wondering if any thought is given to tent theft of expensive tents. I'd be afraid to leave this tent or similar expensive tents unattended for long, like on a trip to get supplies or going for a hike etc., as thieves will steal most anything if they can, and I could easily see this tent disappearing from a campsite if the owner will be away for awhile. Has anyone ever experienced that, or heard of others losing their tent? Thanks.
Loved this video. Loved all the features. By any chance could the stove opening be able to be used for venting for a portable air conditioner too? Love the idea of having the stove for cold nights and an air conditioner for the hot days??
Grand tent. Looks like top notch quality and eye to detail. Would of loved to of seen the interior accessories in use . definitely looks like it could be a nice weekend getaway or permanent vacation home. Love the light color scheme. Make it bright inside & airy inside.
I've had Springbar on my list for a while now. This model is out of my price range and probably a little to big. Looking forward to a 10x10 in my future!
The Springbar tent and this "next video" opened a whole new world of opportunities for the nomadic lifestyled person. Envision the tent on your Arizona parcel of land, Bob. I am envisioning it on my Nevada property. Its very tempting. The tent could certainly second as a long term, off grid cabin. How does the Shiftpod2 rank to the Springbar tent, Bob? My understanding is the Shiftpod was designed specifically by veteran burners for Burning Man's predictable extreme temperatures in the Black Rock Desert. So I assume it is a 4 season tent as well. What's the weight difference between the two? Size comparison? Price? Convenience? And the like. Bob, would you do a comparison between the two in all respects?
Maybe I’ve overlooked it. But did the representative from Springbar ever give you a 15% off discount code for this tent for people that has seen this video? If so, what is it?
I know you do a lot of Western site camping. I just found out here in Pa, On Nov. 3, 2022. PA now charges a $ 10.00 fee per night. they use d to be free. Plus I beleive a hook up fee for the Rv's.. It is on the Pa DNR website and go under PA State Forest section and look for the Camping. They still allow tent camping. That could be a fee also.
you should be able to bug out boon dock extremely well with this setup if you have a medium car only, how long does it take to set up, how many people needed to set up?
I will be buying one because #1 made in USA, #2 company generous to HOWA, and #3 Quality work.
for me
#1 doesn't matter which country made it as long for affordable price
#2 quality

The stove is a game changer. Beautiful workmanship and details.
Waaaay back in the 80's someone had a canvas tent with a stove when we went to Sturgis...it was huge and warm.
My neighbor here in La Posa North has one! It stood up amazingly against these Quartzsite wind storms. I dream of owning one someday.
I really like this tent😍
I appreciate the video. Thank you for the donation!❤
The Springbar tent looks like a great investment. It would be fantastic additional living space once you make it to your camping spot. The company has really thought of everything.
We bought it. Love the family one the best. Because you get a door and a window so it feels safer at night. Otherwise it’s all screen
Good idea
I have a springbar tent and it's amazing!!!I have used it during windy and rainy weather and found myself dry and the tent very stable.
Thanks Bob.
Wonderful looking product, American made, quality to last! Thanks to everyone involved💖
Man that is beautiful! I want one.. we're just south of salt lake. My dad has a kirkhams spring bar tent thats over 30 years old..
Wow, that is a really nice tent. Thank you for a great video!

That is impressive. What a cool company, went in their website to see more of the story. Beautiful.
Springbar needs to offer big side windows as an option. I’m buying a Kodiak because they offer that.
They do. The Classic Jack 140 has big side windows.
I love the that Springbar has American made tents.

Well done springbar 😎

I have a winnerwell stove and it is absolutely amazing and wonderful. You will not be disappointed with them.
I own a Kodak 9x8 deluxe. Same tent basically. Solid design. I’d skip the hot tent option and just roll a little buddy heater when needed.
I have Kodiak Canvas Tent which is very much like this 10x14 also but no stove option. I'm loving this as when ever I need a new tent , I'll be buying American Made.

This might be a dream come true for me and my husband is so I’ll and he could come with me and be comfortable!
Best tent I ever camped in. Lived in one for all of October once.
They are big and heavy though.
Thank you. Great tent.

We bought the spring bar family 10x14. Best company in the world
i would like to get that tent. however might have to go with a smaller one due to size / weight.
Owner giving full credit to Jack for the design, awesome. Great company and product. Made in USA!
Can’t seem to find the discount code offered at the end of the video?
Cody, as always, best photo bomber ever. (Great tent too!)

That is really NICE✨️
I love the Spring Bar tent and to have a nice size wood burning stove makes it even better!👍
Beautiful tent.👍
Wow, a work of art!. ...And the tent and stove looks great too! 😉
Buying this one this year and head to Wind River Range and the Tetons. Support US Made products. US army veteran. Berlin Brigade 1980-1983
I’ll be saving for my springbar! 😉
Great Review, super nice tent! Thank you Both 👍🙏

Very impressive. Will be checking out the website.
I bought the family tent. I call there often and speak to owners. The best in the world. No better tent. Not even Kodiak can compare.
Spring at is a class act
Fabulous tent made in America! Yes! I love it.

was there a 15% discount code that I missed?
thanks for the video and discount code, bob. i might have to get one. looks cool!

This looks like a wonderful tent. It has a number of features I like. I'm curious how well it holds up to the sun and wind of Arizona?
Go to their website they have a video of one of their tents still standing after a tornado passed through the tent owners neighborhood.

Great work.
