How to Make a Leather Tote Bag | Leather Pattern Testing

- Did you know that a leather pattern often undergoes several tests before it's finalized? Achieving 100% accuracy requires creating a couple of prototypes, identifying mistakes, and refining them until you're completely satisfied with the end result. In this video, you'll witness the first test of my new pattern, specifically assessing the size and basic shape of the upcoming tote bag!
- While I typically use EVA foam and cardboard for prototypes, this time, I've opted for B grade leather to better showcase the final result. I invite you to share your thoughts on how you'd like to see this bag develop-your likes and dislikes matter!

I really like this design. I like to carry totes over my shoulder and this tulip design will give more room for my elbow to come down and hold the bag closer to my side. Helps it feel more secure!

I've been into leatherwork for a few years now, mainly making guy stuff like wallets and a few other things but mostly smaller projects. I can't imagine how much thread that used lol. My daughter has been on me for a while asking when I'm going to make her a purse. I've watched many videos on different styles, but this one is perfect and I love it. I'm thinking about alternating with two different colors of leather, like the color you have and a charcoal for the other. You could even alternate the smaller pieces for the strap riveted pieces. Since I work with 3 to 4 oz leather I would probably line the inside with the same leather but again alternate the colors but reversed on the inside. It's beautiful and I want the pattern when available. I just found your channel today but I'm subscribing. Nice work!

It looks really good as is. I like the stitching that goes up both sides. Addressing the closure is a good idea. I think I'll do adjustable straps on my bags. A one size fits all usually doesn't work for me. All in all.... I'm buying this pattern. I really like your designs...thanks
