I'm from South Korea. I used to hum this song 14 years ago when I was having a hard time in the military. Your great performance reminds me of those precious times. Thank you.
Hey thank you, yes they're a Scottish band from the early-mid 80s, I was a massive fan back then, have all their albums on vinyl :-) ...and play them still..
Yes, absolutely, he was writing intelligent, sophisticated songs before he was out of his teens, I've always been amazed by that. His songs and lyrics have definitely stood the test of time I'd say
Hi sir, i stumbled 5 years ago on your cover of Somebody to Love by Queen and left a comment, today i came across your channel once again by chance and i'm pleased to know you are continuing with your great work ! Thank you
As usual it's superb! I love your fingerstyle technique which has a fluidity that I would love to have possessed. Thank you again for this excellent piece of music.
Beautiful! This is a tall order to be sure, but similar arrangements for the whole HLHR album would be amazing -- and by amazing I mean that I would buy a CD of these arrangements in a heartbeat (not to mention posting about it on various New Wave / 80s social media groups to which I belong :) ).
Thanks Brian, appreciate that very much - this was my first arrangement of an Aztec Camera song, but their catalogue is so rich in songs that I think would work for solo guitar that I'll attempt more I think. The whole album may be a big ask but certainly songs like Release would work well I think
@@ironmonger100 This is great to hear! Even as a non-musician, I can sense the level of work that arranging anything in the AC catalogue will require. Anything else will be greatly appreciated. If you're able to post your finished work on a site where I'm able to purchase your tracks, I'm eager to do so. Thanks again so much!
Completely blown away by the musicianship here. Love Roddy and playing guitar. How on earth did you compose this? I thought I could play, seems like I was wrong. 🏴🏴🏴
Exquisite, clean and brilliant. I would buy it if it wasn't free here. Great interpretation of the tune that inspired Johnny Marr to write "This charming man". If I didn't know what tune it was beforehand, I would guess one of the Brazilian bossa nova kings, like Antonio Carlos (Tom Jobim). Guess Roddy listened to alot of that! Bravo! You don't happen to have it written down? :)
Thanks so much Tomas - well I never that Johnny Marr fact! Yes, Roddy clearly has to have had some sophisticated influences to compose such intelligent songs, such as this one and Release. As for the written music, yes all my scores are available through my site shaunmurray co uk ... thanks for watching :-)
That's correct about This Charming Man, Both bands were signed to Rough Trade at the time. You can also hear a bit of Aztec Cameras - 'Oblivious' in The Smiths 'That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore' so Johnny must have admired Roddy. Towards the end of The Smiths Johnny also took on Craig Cannon as 2nd guitarist, who was also in Aztec Camera just after HLHR.
@@Coppertunes Yes, I started a bit of googling the other day, looking into the johnny Marr connection and it's all there, so much I never knew. Since posting this vid I shared it on the Roddy/AC fan page on Facebook, which went down well and it's really rekindled my love for the band, wonder if Roddy will be playing live again...
No termina de sonar bien del todo. Es una canción que conozco bien y en algunos momentos hay algúna nota que cambia el aire de la canción. También puede ser algo que Ud. Quiera que suene asi. Saludos

Brilliant again. Roddy Frame was only 16 or 17 when he wrote this, he is so underrated.
he did make it big in the states and Oblivious was on MTV :)

Thank you kindly - and greetings from Kent, England :-)
Kudos to your interior decorator.
Do you think he wore a red shirt because it's the complimentary color to the green love seat?
@@Mmmyess He wore it because I put it out for him this morning 😅
Amazing

Shaun,
Do you have any arrangements of folk songs our Scottish ancestors would have listened to that you can record and upload?
I'm looking into that - I haven't arranged or played any Scottish traditional music but there are some beautiful melodies that would work I think
