If you watched the videos I have more certs than security+. And you can’t make that much just having one cert with one job. Unless you’re just extremely lucky. Please watch the entire video before commenting.
@@KLaw0 Honestly I watched the entire video twice. I didn’t mention the Cyberark certifications because these certifications aren’t widely known or accepted in the industry. I am a Security Architect with CISSP, CCSP, every CompTIA certifications and AWS and Azure certifications. Plus, two masters degree MBA and Cybersecurity. I am not making 200K. Either, you all math ain’t mathing. Or I am doing something wrong in the industry?
@ Are you remote or hybrid? In the video I mentioned overemployment. I work multiple jobs that’s how I’m able to make so much. And with your experience if you come in as a IAM architect you’d make a minimum of 225k a year. What roles are you going for?
Network + is the most important cert to actually start if the interviewer is smart. I can look up certain security concepts, if you don’t know how networking works you literally can’t work.
See im 22, i finished an independent study course back in june called Full Stack Network Engineering. Went and crammed for the Sec+ right after finishing that (failed by 4 questions then again by 5 question's cuz i guess nerves) so now i have ZERO comptia Certs and a single course completion Cert. My name is mud til i get a CompTIA Cert. And after failing that Sec+ i think id be way more confident sticking with what i studied for a full year and taking the Net+ before i take my Sec+ and id be more marketable as a young buck transitioning career paths from having been a line cook since 18
@@kenrickwilliams2325okay but the point is that you understand networking concepts… If we are keeping beginners in mind, they should understand networking and operating systems before learning security concepts. Things will make more sense.
Internships only work for those who have just come out of school but not for those who have families and obligations. Some people would like to get into the industry in their late 20's to mid 30's but can't afford to go for an internship.
I love the heat u guys bring to the table. I'm a subscriber. What you're saying is absolute. I'm currently studying for the AZ-104 then the IAM. I saw the value during my journey studying for the Security+ since I got that I'm on my way! Thanks so much for the 💎💎💎 guys! Keep doing wat y'all do ✊🏼 Btw, you guys work as Blue Team or just IAM?

@@JeffreyLMW it definitely depends on what sector you get into but for the most part. IAM which is what I do is probably the least stressful. It’s most of it is just task based.

How does your resume look? You should tailor your help desk experience on your resume by including parts more IAM focused such as password resets, account lockouts, etc
@@KLaw0but like is it a good idea? I’m considering AF cyber to be specific for the on the job training you get. Don’t know if it’s worth the commitment though
I landed my first cyber role in IAM earlier this year and would definitely recommend IAM as a stepping stone into cybersecurity besides SOC
I am trying to stay open-minded, but making 200K with no degree and Security+ seems to be a far stretch.
Skills pay the bills as well as having a good network
