The DJ that got me into house and techno music use to play the tune in most of his sets in 97, 98 at the underground! Thanks dj Kevin Nowell. I just found this song today haven't heard it since 98, drenched with sweat dancing to this tune around midnight!!!!!
Top tune, my mum said 'I thought it was you', this afternoon and said it in a way it reminded me of this. Found it, played it and an 85 year old woman was dancing around her kitchen going 'yeah' to her dog who was wagging his tail. Top tune, just played it to my friend and he said, 'why can't they make tunes like this now'. Used to have it, got stolen. Thanks for sharing.
Love Love Love this tune! Pete Tong used to play it on his R1 show every week. So miss the days of soulful/funky house music *sigh* Reached the dizzy heights of No. 32 in the UK charts.
P A same here matey; that show kicked started my weekends. I also remember listening to Mark Goodier count down the UK chart on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm on R1 and hearing this only go in at number 32. 😩 Back then it was was rare for a single to climb higher that the first week when it entered the charts.
I'm a Northern soul fan and pretty picky when it comes to covers of my heroes ..... But what's not to like about this .. it's brilliantly done ..a longtime classic to be savoured.say "YEAH "! How can you possibly sit down ! 200 kid
I love mixing this tune, with that girl going "Yeah!" as the one tune is breaking down and this one building up. Thank the lads from Full Intention for this, special stuff.
Some trivia: This CD maxi-single featured a bonus track entitled "Funk it up", which contained a sample from the British film "The Bitch" by Joan Collins- a sentence that goes "Your trendy disco is dying! ". By the way, the original Herbie Hancock's composition could also be heard on that movie.
(This was a Project by Jazz-Man Herbie Hanckock, as the Music had still a Flow, back in in the freaky, freeing' and funky 90's...) Wished this groovy Thymes came back... (Pat, Switzerland)

Spoken word sample from beginning of A1 taken from 1970s UK TV series "The Sweeney" (Season 4, Episode 8, "The Bigger They Are", 1978). Harold Collins: "Are you sure this is going to work?" Leroy Garner: "Hey, what I say, trust in Leroy, right" Harold Collins: "What if something goes wrong, hey?" Leroy Garner: "Run, baby, run" Also sampled from same episode is the quote "What you staring at? Hey man your positively hostile"
This is the official version with the "hairstyle" sample. Months before this came out as white label with a "fuck off you bitch" (or similar) vocal sample. Can anyone remember this, too?
@@alisonrobinson5899 The episode is ''The Bigger They Are'' the actor playing Leroy is Trevor Thomas. Staple actor at the time for Thames and Euston Films.

Off a ‘minder’ episode in the 80’s
Not Minder, but the Sweeney! LeRoy was Trevor Thomas I believe and Collins was Harold Skipp!
