as a trans person myself i think at least the lowest age should be 16 for being able to transition as long as parents/guardians are consenting and a consult to figure out if thats actually what they want or if they should start on hormone blockers first before making a life altering change. (thats my opinion tho ofc)
I can see getting the ball rolling at 16. The reason 18 makes more sense to me is that it's when the individual can make a decision without parental consent, so it's completely their own choice. Thank you for the pov! ❤️
when the video about kris tyson came out on penguinz0's channel i saw the parts where he was talking about sneako, and i thought it was hillarious but this take is just really bad (you know it's bad when SNEAKO laughs at you for saying it)
He knew he had him in a bad spot. I think the worst part is that Charlie failed to articulate a reason for why he believes what he believes. He pretty much just said ~ because it's what I believe ~. This looks worse for Charlie because people hold him to a higher standard than Sneako.
@@peytonnewman yeah i get what you mean, it's like how sneako was not giving an actual answer to what the age of development is but now it's charlie not having an answer for why he believes that
I dont think medical transisioning is even (normally at least) done with underage ppl, Charlie just doesnt know enough to talk about the topic ans Sneako can push his misinformation and propaganda
And those peoples voices shouldn't be ignored, even for the people who are happy with their transition. There are a lot of people who advise waiting on medical transitioning, even though they are happy they went through with it, as the process still has many issues, maybe just a few decades down the line the prescidures will have less draw backs but again data in all fields are usually under reported. Of course, it should be noted that right leaning sources over report to make it seem there are more people that regret transitioning. I believe the real number is somewhere in the middle as sadly topics like these become over politicized so the truth is bent to fit narratives.
@@peytonnewman there’s a difference between people who experiment with their gender and people who go through medical procedures and such. people don’t skip straight too the medical side because no real person would do that. usually before hrt ext the person will have too wait half too a full year and if they’re still sure will be given the drugs. on top of this gender affirming care is provided too make sure it isn’t any other issue that the person would later realise and detransition because of.
Knowing how things work vs. morals and ethics of its application are two very different things. Our medical and scientific industry is heavily lobbied and corrupt. Opioid epidemic is one of a thousand examples of that. Everyone knows that but picks and chooses when it's convenient to remember that. Additionally: the amount of money the medical industry is making off of people transitioning is astonishing, there's no financial incentive to tell people, maybe you shouldn't do this or at the very least wait until you are older.
@@peytonnewman america isn't the only country and i don't really think you know how transitioning happens. There's lengthy consultation with psychologists and doctors before anything is done Also the amount of people that regret transitioning is incredibly low and it's proven to help immensely most people, those aren't rushed decisions we have a good understanding of what these people go through, what they need and what can be done.
I think what Charlie said could maybe, MAYBE be valid in 15, 20 years from now, when the tech is perfected and more options are available. me personally though i feel the legal age for gender affirming surgery should be 21.
If there comes a day in the future when transitioning can be done at the snap of a finger and reversed nearly as easily, with some tech we can't even think of today, then I can see his point

Absolutely not. 16 is far too young. Most people fall out of discomfort with their bodies by 25.
@@WadeAlma well thats other people and thats also my opinion 🥰☺️

3% is not the highest. Also statistics show the rate of detransitioners are increasing. As well as most kids adjusting to their bodies by 25.
@@WadeAlma show me this stat then
