Also known as the Battle of Iron Hill, it was a battle fought on September 3, 1777, between the Continental Army and American militia and primarily German soldiers serving alongside the British Army during the American Revolutionary War. A British victory - It was the only battle of the American Revolutionary War fought on Delaware soil, and marked the first time that the Stars and Stripes was flown in battle.
A new American Revolutionary War Historical series featured only on this channel -- bringing to life with vivid recreations, sound and editing -- focused living-history documentaries on Rev War battles -- as well as some of the men who led and those who followed and fought with heroism and without regard for themselves - fighting for family, home… love of country and the men standing in line next to them.

Nice to hear that the Hessian officer seems to be a "real" German. He speaks without any accent.

Not the best reenacting but its was informative. Kept the over-weight and bespectacled re-enactors to a minimum. Also, just shooting the priming charge is not realistic appearing...

the cooch bridge was mostly a running skirmish. not a line battle.

I wonder what the big flintlocks that needed tripod are, the ones the Hessians were using?

I wonder why no one thought of making a bullet proof vest back in those days.

Actually a pretty good action for delaying Infront of a superior force..Vo Nuyen Giap probably studied this one.. You don't have to win battles to win a war.

A couple of comments. Burgoyne’s army was forced to surrender in large part due to the dashing leadership of Benedict Arnold, from whom I am descended, but not linealy.
Second, and I’m not knocking the effort put into this film, why does this sort of re-enactment draw so many chubby guys? Aren’t there enough skinny Americans to fill the ranks?
Third, there should have been more voiceover explaining what was happening, and some maps would have been really helpful.

Chubby guys can afford the repro muskets. Men of all descriptions fought in the ARW, even boys. They wear specs because powder burns from the pan are real, even in a reenactment.

@@woodydavis8287 Don’t generalize. I’m old and fat and I can’t afford any muskets

Cooches have a bridge? Oh wait, I forgot that we call it a taint. My bad 🤷🏻‍♂️

Were there no natives? We were the catalyst for victory with the fear of suffering from arrows and tomahawks. Light and fast moving. Actually this was the beginning of harvest season.
