    Thank you for this review. I am from India and lately the boot scene in India has picked up a bit because many of us were paying top dollar for brands like nicks and whites and importing them from the US. We pay 2.5 times, including import duties if we buy from the US. So a 700$ whites cost us $1500, but frankly it’s worth it. I never owned Indian made boots. And I was looking around the web to find some unbiased and unsponsored reviews on craft and glory. Thankfully, found out yours. As someone who is in the boot scene for quite sometime, the very look of their leather and their construction always looked a bit fidgety. And your video confirmed my doubts. Thanks again.

    I was (and maybe still am) planning to buy a pair for Craft and Glory boots. There aren't may review videos on UA-cam for Craft and Glory. This video is super helpful. I waited for it after seeing the unboxing and first impression video.

      Save a little more and get an Origin boot. Theyre way better quality and only about 350

      If you are looking for a work boot in this price range Jim Green boots have great reviews, I may sell these in order to get some Jim Greens. Also, I just read about The Urban Wolf Club Company with boots made in Mexico for $150 and they have free shipping and returns. I haven't tried them but for that price I may just get them to do a review on them.

      I'll recommend something from BLKBRD. Just cost 20% more.

    Spot on review. I ordered these in black and specified an extra midsole since the online pictures didnt show it, they put that in for free which was cool. I also installed a leather insole due to the screws and the boots being a bit large. They're really comfy now. I knew the pull tab would be caught on pants easily so I asked to have them without which i do not regret. I'll note that the black colour scuffs very easily and shows a blue/grey underneath.

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  2 місяці тому +1

      Wow! I wish I asked for a midsole. Your boots sound great!

  • @Coleone139

    I bet they don’t have an anvil or something. The stack should be nailed from the other end. If the insole is really veg tan then the right sock liner/cushion combo would work. Having a double leather insole is a solution, but you’re also losing interior volume and instep. If they have brand name sole options I’d get one of them. If they’re willing to make these mods per order then they have potential. I wasn’t considering them, but I’m sure a lot of people are grateful for this video.
    I would ask them to do a thin layer of cushion and a leather sock liner over the heel section - for those of you who want to buy. This would cover up the screws and give you a leather footbed.. assuming it’s actually leather and not fiberboard. Because putting a foam insert in over a leather footbed is unusual 🤔
    Good video, solid review 😎🤜🤛

    I've definitely been interested in these. They don't have to be Nick's lvl build quality, but if they are comparable with Red Wing or JK's 300 line? Well for the price they'd be a steal.

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  Місяць тому +1

      I would put Red Wing's overall quality above these boots, I don't have experience with JK's but I would choose Red Wing over these because they have better leather and comfort. I would even say if price is a factor it's worth saving up for the Red Wings.

      @@DavidsGarage1972 thank you. I own like 3 pairs of Red Wings and they are great boots. I also own 2 pairs of White's atm and 2 pairs of Nick's as well. The Jk 300s I own are definitely on par with if not surpassing the Red Wings. I think I'll pass on the Craft and glory. I appreciate the advice. I might get a pair of those Truman #20 last boots in your other video tho. I'm really digging the colors and silhouette of that boot.

      @@DavidsGarage1972 I have Jim Green African Ranger Brown. Like Tony the tiger says "there ggggggreat". I think that I just dated myself. AR are really comfortable, just upgrade the insole. I bought their razerbacks for $140. Great price. Good sturdy boot. I Had to return them. The toebox is to low. Every step I took the top of the boot touched the topof my toe's. I hate that feeling. Their STC last is great. Going to buy another AR.

    You shouldn't have to do this, but would turning the screws drive them in deeper and alleviate the pain?

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  2 місяці тому +1

      I tried that first before switching the removable insole, I took a screwdriver and put a lot of pressure on the screw and turned each screw carefully because I did not want to strip the leather holding the screw and no matter how much I turned the screw still popped up or did not move deeper into the insole.

    Great review and very detailed, good job witht he cinematogrphy too. i was just wondering what are the capabilities of the boot with water, is it waterproof?

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  2 місяці тому

      Thank you! So this boot in vintage tan feels like a nubuck leather so I would say this boot and leather probably would not fair well in the rain and would absorb a lot of the water. I would actually want a leather that still has the top grain and is more heavily oiled than this leather, so something like a chromexcel would actually be better for rain resistance. Also another thing to note would be the welt did not feel too snug against the upper leather which is why I pointed out the noticeable gap in the video, I think this would probably also be another point where water would have a opportunity to get inside the boot.

    I am genuinely amazed that they used SCREWS in the heel of the boot. Its usually normal to have screws going into the actual sole, but down from the insole??? That is just awful.

    I was wondering if perhaps you had looked into BLKBRD Shoemaker, also out of India, more dressy lasts in general, but one of the best values I can think of (along with Craft and Glory, Luos Jiet, etc). I have their Dixon captoe in their pullup black. The upper domestic leather isn't the best thing in the world, but overall for the price I doubt you could beat them?

    There you go, found your one month review on this and as I've supposed the bad undersides of the daily use are coming up...
    Boots look great for a city guy that wants to play the dandy in town with, but not that rugged boot meant for being bitted and abused in a mountains farm.
