I have this and another 2 variants.. people say thick and heavy. They are so brilliantly engineered i never know i have them on my wrist. Unbeatable Omega all the way❤
Plus, this watch is available in grade 5 titanium if the weight is a concern for anyone. I’d get the Ti version but the dial/bezel looks so much better on this steel Seamaster. They should have used this same dial/bezel combo on the Ti Seamaster.
Hi may I ask what size is your wrist please thanks in advance 👍
@@RB-xv4si full titanium version has a shitty rubber insert in the bezel. Dafuq? A total deal breaker for me. What next, Omega? A beeswax bezel insert?
@@Xenomorph_XX I think you’d like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms full titanium watch (including bracelet). It has a sapphire bezel with lined markers. I had the Bathyscaphe chrono in full ceramic on a nato strap for a while. Awesome watch.
I have now re bought this watch and love it
i have this watch and 2 other seamaster chronographs i have always loved the helium escape valve crown i find it adds a bit of interest even though i will never go diving
I do a bit of muff diving and I’ve never needed a helium escape valve
I'll be picking this particular watch up in the next couple of weeks. Just wanted to say thanks for the great breakdown of all the qualities of this timepiece, not just in this video but all the other related clips I have watched from you👍
I sold this for the Rolex James Cameron I wish I never sold it… in fact I prefer the omega over the rolex
I love this time piece. Alot of watch for the money. This will be my next planet ocean. My current planet ocean also has the calibre 9900, but the bezel does not lume.
Love mine. I use the chrono running to keep a second time zone haha
One of My Favourite watches
Amazing watch. The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on this one is that it’s not titanium. I realize there is a titanium version but it doesn’t have the same dial and bezel. I really prefer this dial/bezel combo over the titanium version of this watch. Also, Omega actually describes this dial as “ceramised titanium”. BTW, I’m not sure where you’re getting the beat rate of 25,200 VPH from. Omega is very clear on their site that the calibre 9900 is at an even 4 Hz (28,800 VPH).
Another excellent video. Thanks Tim!
A perfect watch, how much is it?
$9,100 USD
If this were a Rorschach test I'd say "Woof!"
Why rhodium plated hands and indices and not gold?
Nice looking watch, but a tad too big for me.
This watch must be very heavy?
It is. But it also exists as a full grade 5 titanium version, which is crazy light for its size.
Very nice.
How would helium get into the watch? The diver him/herself might be breathing a helium mix, but the watch would be in water?
The decompression phase of deep diving, ie after the dive, in the tank.
Helium molecules are smaller than oxygen or nitrogen and could permeate a watch gasket leading to the crystal cracking or popping off after the diver’s decompression stage. With modern materials and tolerances this is no longer much of an issue, so the helium escape valve is either 1) A nostalgic traditional styling feature 2) An ugly and completely unnecessary carbuncle.
During my 60 years on this planet I’ve never met anyone who has dived deeper than 10 metres.
@@spizzenergi2292 I don’t doubt it…and professional commercial deep sea divers don’t wear a wrist watch underwater, they wear a dive computer.
Lovely watch did I hear you say the weight ?
I love some of the Seamaster Pro and PO designs but I discount them all because of that awful HE valve, it’s just a bit embarrassing. I know in practice it’s no different to having a depth rating that greatly exceeds any human capabilities but it just feels super pointless.
Pointless and embarrassing is every mechanical watch vs quartz, if you think of it for a few seconds😁
What Im saying is love it or leave it.....
@@hayios0 That’s a reasonable point! What a silly thing and illogical thing it is to be interested in watches
Just bought one and now waiting for it to be delivered.
