I was just asking myself this exact question before coming across a different one of your videos. Great timing!

So what’s called fourth person is just first person plural. A novel called On Such a Full Sea by Chang Rae-Lee used this. He wrote his novel in first person plural and does a solid job of telling a satisfying story.

I didn’t look to see how long you’ve been doing this, but good luck growing the channel. You have a great voice and a very engaging, casual style. Keep at it!

I’ve never even heard of 4th person POV but it already sounds like nonsense I’m ngl 😂 Great video, btw!
Can’t believe I’m just now finding your channel. Been looking for more dudes in the writer/authortube space since I just joined thisUA-cam niche a few weeks ago lol

That was my knee jerk reaction, lol. Glad to have you on board. We need more dude writers. I'll check out your channel.

4th person is nonsense. Most formal definitions of first will already include "we". As for the "one" thing, "one" isn't equivalent to "I", but it's not a pov either. It's like a non-specific standin, a pronoun without an antecedent, like an example person for when you're describing a scenario to the reader/listener. You're right it's a bit stuffy and you don't hear it often, but what most people use instead is actually "you", and you will find people mistakenly labeling something as second person when a first or third person narrator is doing that.
