even before i knew anything about twice, i always thought jihyo was extremely gorgeous. like she has a very different unique look and beautiful eyes too.
I'm European and when I first started listening to twice, I thought they looked a lot alike bc I wasn't used to Asian faces. After watching a lot of Korean and Chinese content, of course this has changed and I can see the uniqueness in South East Asian faces. As long as you're acknowledging that they do look very different from each other and that your brain just isn't used to Asian faces, it has nothing to do with racism. I think if a Korean person saw a picture of me and my girlfriends, they probably would have a hard time as well differentiating our faces. So I get why the people thought they all looked like twins. In addition to that I think those pictures are heavily edited to look more like the beauty standard in Korea to a point where their faces loose a lot of their uniqueness. That's why I think their choices were based on their haircolor and hairstyle and the way they posed and not actually their faces.
I hope Jihyo sees this video so she knows that there are people who find her attractive and appreciate her looks. despite that her beauty is criticized in Korea. Just because some people say you aren’t beautiful, doesn’t mean the whole world shared that opinion.

I'm European and when I first started listening to twice, I thought they looked a lot alike bc I wasn't used to Asian faces. After watching a lot of Korean and Chinese content, of course this has changed and I can see the uniqueness in South East Asian faces. As long as you're acknowledging that they do look very different from each other and that your brain just isn't used to Asian faces, it has nothing to do with racism. I think if a Korean person saw a picture of me and my girlfriends, they probably would have a hard time as well differentiating our faces. So I get why the people thought they all looked like twins. In addition to that I think those pictures are heavily edited to look more like the beauty standard in Korea to a point where their faces loose a lot of their uniqueness.
That's why I think their choices were based on their haircolor and hairstyle and the way they posed and not actually their faces.
