Agh, you don't know how helpful this video has been, once again proving to the world that the most informative of things out there don't even have to stretch out to more than 5 minutes in explanation time, and then another 10 minutes just to block up any access to the knowledge with useless cover material
Goodluck hooman.....i searched over the net for a. Quick demonstration video on api and your video were the second one in google...yr iranian and im proud of it
Clear Explanation. May I understand the API as an alternative and direct way to interact with the database such as those infrastructures in Facebook, Google and UA-cam. Thank you, Hooman!
Thanks for that explanation of APIs. I'm writting a report on Web Application Vulnerabilities and choosing a safe JavaScript API is best mitigation of XSS attacks.
Quick question: does every website that communicates with other websites have an API? Or is an API created just to communicate with other websites/apps. For instance, if I want my website to communicate with Facebook for a login function, is that my website's API communicating with Facebook's API? Or is a single API being created just for that communication? I hope that makes sense!
Perfect explanation, also it is giving some interest to kinda dive deeper and look for more lessons (on how does it work on the server side). Hope you get me
I have started to learn android development and have downloaded the android studio ide, java re and java sdk. I was looking on google app engine as a paas cloud service. What would be the better alternative for learning how to develop apps/are they both integrated development environments? Bearing in mind the android studio ide is saved on my hard drive and doesn't load that fast. Would I be better using a paas cloud service for developing apps? It would be a lot faster and more efficient if I could access something online as appose to the former. What would you recommend?
Could an API be described as a bunch of code that a programmer can use to access other software? What's labeled the the 'Java API', for example, has nothing to do with the web, but it shows all the method calls, properties, etc. and how they function, but the code they access is hidden.
Good explanation Hooman but I didn't bother watch this the whole way through because of the adverts that I cannot close down. Mulesofts "What is an API?" is user friendly.
How can I display up to date price information on a webpage if the products were to come from Amazon as an example? Say I have a products page and I discuss all the information about the product. Prior to the user clicking on the "Buy it now on Amazon" I would like to display the price of the product. Everyone tells me this is quote "illegal" is that so? If its not illegal, how would one go about that, is that where the "API" comes into play?
