The reason for the fallout when bl actors 'come out' as straight is Fan service. The issue is all the queer baiting, tamely called 'fanservice'. Many successful shows have been made where the actors did not engage in any of that at all so we do know it's not necessary. But many many 'famous couples' exist who repeatedly cross lines off-set, ACTIVELY building an atmosphere of romance and pretending they are in a real life relationship. Are fans, esp those still carrying emotions for the on-screen couple, really to blame for believing them??? Esp esp because they go out of their way to involve the fans in the ship. If they really are together ofc i'd support them 100%, but it's really something else to go out of your way to make all that up, then turn around and say 'fooled ya' and not expect it to blow up in your face... So i hope fans can keep in the back of their mind that most of it is a gimmick, and most studios have better script writers for their fanservice than the actual shows!! 😂😂
