I think that the mounting screws that came with the machine are tri lobular thread forming screws. These screws form the thread as you drive them in by mushing the Aluminium up. Very common for die cast Aluminium housings like electric motors.
Very informative great for anyone building their own van incredible amount of research you have excellent problem solving skills and product knowledge 🚐

Hello my #1 peep, thank you so much and super happy you enjoy the videos. Not easy to make them informative and interesting but I feel we are walking the line and will be just fine. Thanks again, see you on the next video!
Can you install the glycol container and hot water heat exchanger under the chassis rather than in the van? My van is smaller than yours and I'm trying to figure out where to put these things ...
Thank you SO MUCH for creating a hydronic how to video, I recently bought one for my own Sprinter build to add for hot water and I found there are so many steps and parts not mentioned anywhere. Seeing your approach is immensely helpful to piece of mind and saving time when I start the install. Just wanted to flag something on the exhaust. You might want to route it out the back side of the van. I installed an Espar D2L Airtronic (the same exhaust) and the manual says to make sure to have the outlet port clear the outside edge of the van to avoid gas buildup underneath. Also, if you put it out the side eventually you’ll smell like exhaust when cooking in winter with the t-vents open and the heater on. I also heard that the wheels throw salt, snow and dirt which can foul the exhaust if it’s placed right in front of the wheel. Hope that helps and keep up the good work!
Awesome glad you are enjoying and I do appreciate the input... I don't have any opening windows on the side of the van but I am debating the location due to possible snow build up in winter driving months.. I will leave it as is for now and can be easily modified and discussed at a later moment when traveling... Thanks for watching and commenting.
Very clean build! I am slowly making it through the entire build series. I thought on these burners that there was a required orientation with the exhaust down so you do not collect condensation. Is that burner in one of those approved orientations? Thanks!
How big is the coolant resevoir? And what would you say the minimum size reservoir I could get away with. Also do you have an overflow? Are you running glycol?
Have you run the hydronic heating in Van yet? Can you make an estimate of how much fuel heating with hydronic system takes and rough temperature outside when you did test? From Rixens literature is says 0.15 gal/hour. For air heating only system takes only 0.042 gal/hour. Seem like a lot of fuel (4 gallons a day) or does heating cycle so much less fuel is actually used.
You probably noticed the factory fit heaters air intake goes into the frame rail, that is supposed to provide silencing and protection from water ingress so you could try doing that if the noise from your second one gets annoying 😀 How’s the exhaust and heater coped close to the wheel any excess muck or damage to either? I am curious because I am still deciding where to mount mine. Thanks

Thanks much! My furnace is under the van just behind the driver’s seat. I want to run the glycol hose to the other side, over the exhaust. What do I need to do to protect the hose from the exhaust? Is there a minimum distance to maintain. Do I need to shield the hose somehow? If shield, any suggestions?
Your heating system intrigues me. We just purchases a 2020 Ford Transit and it is being outfitted with 4-wheel drive. Can you give me an approximate cost of this system for hot water and space heating. Thanks
