- On this mission we are out to target some big winter Kingfish using live Mackerel baits. We are fishing onboard my mate Jordans boat Vanavara and I'm also joined by 2 more of the boys Nik and Brayden. We are blessed with amazing weather some spectacular views and a great mixed bag of delicious fish for the table.

Once I was coming home from a job and as I do stopped the boat dropped a softie and picked up a similar sized John Dory getting back to the Whare I crumbed up the fillets and waited with a beer. Anyway the missus rocked up and said are you ready at which point I remembered we were going out to dinner and would miss the Johnny at its best so quickly took the fillets next door to my mate Doris (yup her real name ) she was rapt. The old girl was in her 80's looking after a severely handicapped son (a real hero) and rarely got treats. I got more joy from her joy than the fish, RIP Doris.

Absolutely amazing brother , i took the boys out to motiti yesterday and got out limit for 4 people in couple hours was mean fun , also a pig fish 😆 no kings sadly still havent caught one
