First time I saw Johnny he was about 15, in 2001 or so at Humphrey's Yacht Club in San Diego Bay. The show wasn't ready to go it didn't look like. Some roadies setting stuff up. So this one guy brings Johnny's guitar out and was tuning it up and played a few cords. Expecting him to put it back in the rack and go offstage he played a few more. And everybody around me is like "wait a minute." I'm thinking "This guy is going to get in trouble." Then he started to sing and everyone was like "THAT'S HIM!" and then the rest of the musicians came out. It was mind boggling that music and that incredible voice coming out of that young potato farmer up there? Since then I've seen him three more times and was astounded at the stage presence and command performance. He's incredible! Keep an eye on this guy!
I was in the balcony at this show...after he got done playing this song, everyone just turned to each other as if to ask "Holy Shit, did he actually just do that???"
