This is an era gone by, but not completely forgotten, and I'm glad you guys get out there and tear it up just like the old days. We used to go wherever and see what they'd do! Today's machines are expected to perform but the machines of yesteryear always carried a bit of mystery. "Can I get through this or climb that? What's going to break today?" And you had to pilot these machines, not just ride them. I still don't have a 60's vintage, but I've got a heck of a Polaris stable, and I ride them every year! '72 Colt 295, '73 TX 400, '73 Charger 295, '76 Colt SS 340, '77 TX 340, '78 Cobra 440, '79 Apollo 340, '80 Galaxy 440, and an '81 Cutlass SS 440. They're not for looking at, although I try to make them look nice, they're for riding! It takes time and money to keep them going. I have a couple that might be on their way out because they're just troubled children and I'm tired of maintaining so many as it is, but my goodness... I just enjoy them so much! I have probably spent as much in repair and upkeep as I have initial expenditure but heck, most of them were acquired for $300 or less so it still feels like a cheap hobby. It's kind of like feeding a horse when you have this many though! Oh... and I have an '81 Arctic Cat Pantera 500 just for something different. No idea how vast I'll get with it, but I have the disease and don't see a cure in sight! Great video guys! Can't wait to see 2023!
,,,,here ! From land o' lakes,wi.....yes,,,elan....best sled ever,,,second=et250yamaha....fuckyea...my elan is wired,taped,patched,welded,,still runs,,,so fun....hope the build a new version soon...
Back in my younger days (early 70's) we had snow machine races during winter carnival, (oval) there was a category for 1970 and older, well I had a 1970 Allouette, 20 hp., being about 13 yrs old, thought it was a pretty sweet ride, (lol), anyway entered the race and took second place, an 18 hp, 1967 ski-doo beat me. Use to tell that story once in awhile, but to top off the story at the end, and for a laugh of course, could not leave out the fact that there was only two in the race. The good old days.
Oh man does THIS take me back. I'm wagering there were many beers killed in the making of this vid!! My 70's stable - 69-70 SnoJet, 60 something Sears, 70 something Moto Ski Capri, 72 Chaparral Firebird "EXECUTIVE" I think (too bad THAT moniker never panned out in real life), 75 Suzuki Nomad (sweet but I learned the diff between 1/2 and 3/4 inch reach the hard way - ran AWESOME for about 3-4 minutes)...duh. Then a 79 YAM EX440. SWEET. Haven't ridden since but thanks to you bastiches I'll prolley piss off wife soon....but NOT with a $15-20K sled. The shit I put those old hunks through at $200-$400 a pop? Oh hell no........
I had one of them sleds brand new this big fat guy bought it and he kept tipping over cause they are so narrow and he didn’t lean with the sled so he kept rolling off the side lol he sold me it for 200$ with on 4km on it

All that fun! Without a $100000 truck and $20000 trailer and $25000 snow machine.
When I started this was all we had...but way more fun. Each sled had its own distinct sound. 😊

Sweet vid boyz
Best snowmobile video of 2022. 😀😃
I don't think those sleds ran that good when they were new ... must be the riders. You guys are an inspiration!
Reminds me of my childhood. 1973 scorpion sting 3
The most fun you can have at 20 mph. Just send er!
Buddy of mine stuffed a rotax 670 in one of these and it’s an absolute weapon
I smiled and chuckled the whole time!!! Thanks!!

Reminds me of being 10yo. Love it!
Spent many days on the 12.3 Olympic, lots of fun. We would skip school on the fresh pow days and run lots of premix through sleds like these.
