    Just purchased a Sig P229 Pro and its slide is optics ready for the Delta Point Pro, which just came in today. I’m glad I watched your video first. I just ordered the Wheeler Torque wrench off Amazon. It’s gone up in price since you got yours, but after watching this I think it’ll be a smart purchase. Just the video I needed. Thanks.

    Question for you. One of the main features of the X Vtac is the Vtac sights. It seems that you lose those by adding the red dot. What advantages did you see that made you lose the sights and still want the x vtac configuration?
    I have the X Vtac and like the sights so much that I don't plan on getting a red dot for it.
    Also, there is no co witness using the red dot on the X vtac.
    I would love to hear your thoughts

    • @paparomeoproductions5956

      That’s a great question. For me, it was a good deal at the time. I got a red dot compatible slide, x-5 grip module, and the Vtac sights all in one package. It does suck that you can’t co-witness or at least with the set-up I have. My main focus was to get that configuration to use with a red dot. I’m sure there are way better options that are cheaper or make more sense, but this is the one worked for my situation. The gun has been great and the red dot has worked perfectly and is still going strong. I hope this answered your question and thanks again for watching!

      @@paparomeoproductions5956 Thanks for the reply, which makes sense. I know that the Delta Point Pro optic is generally better than the Sig alternative. However as I have kept learning, I have understood that the Sig Romeo partially witnesses with the X Vtac. Is that your understanding? If so, would it change your choice of optic? Thanks again.

    • @paparomeoproductions5956
      @paparomeoproductions5956 Рік тому

      I’ve seen some of the sig optics that co-witness with X-5 variants, but I’m not sure about with the Vtac. I didn’t go with the sig red dot at first because I didn’t like the polymer, but the newer models seem to have a better housing on them. I try not to be a fanboy for certain optics/firearms. However I am open to new products. I have a holosun optic on my carry handgun which has worked great. I think it comes down to personal preference. If you can get hands on with one I always recommend that over someone else’s opinion. I think you really can’t go wrong these days.

      @@paparomeoproductions5956 Thanks. I think I will keep waiting. I have a 365 for CC, and I don’t put a light or optic on it so that it stays small. I live in AZ where it is warm and I don't wear a lot of loose clothes or layers. But funnily I just ordered a CAA MCK for it with a Micro Optic from Crimson Trace, so I will start practicing with that. I may wait on adding an optic to the 320 until I can find one that co-witnesses. I really like the quality of the Delta Point Pro and if they revise in the future to co-witness then that might be when I finally say go.

    • @paparomeoproductions5956

      Sounds like a solid plan to me honestly. I know I’ve spent a lot of money on stuff that I settled for when I should have waited for the thing I actually wanted. Let me know if you do end up getting something that you can co-witness.

      Hey, thanks for watching! So, I was using a safariland 7378 7TS ALS holster. However once I got the optic I knew it wasn't going to work. I actually ended up making a holster using a cheap kydex press that I made out of foam and some scrap pieces of wood. I highly recommend safariland and to go check out their website that has different models for specific handguns!

    Because of the slide cut?

    • @paparomeoproductions5956

      Now I could be completely wrong. But, I believe this firearm was built to accept the romeo 1 and the leupold deltapoint pro without the need of an adapter plate. So the specs of those optics match the factory slide cut. This wont be the same case for other optics and other slides!

    Why did you choose it over the trijicon rmr?

    • @paparomeoproductions5956
      @paparomeoproductions5956 3 роки тому +1

      That's a great question. I debated over it for quite a while. I watched quite a few reviews on both, and got hands on with them. I liked the size of the rmr and it's build. However, the DPP had a bigger window, the glass was a little bit clearer in my opinion, it's motion activated, and you can swap the battery out without taking the optic off of the slide and re-zero it. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either one!

      Honestly man there are so many schools of thought. Typically 10,15, 25. I’m sure people could argue this all day about what the effective range of a pistol is, or how most encounters are within 7 yards. You’re gonna have an offset and I suggest zeroing and training g for what you find important. Hope this answered your question somewhat! Thanks for watching!
