I have a thought on this: Can it be that there is a difference in the different types of tensioners? If the cook's spring tensioner "gives and takes", then the pressure will not rise when the temperature drops during the night and the blade shortens. If the wheels are fixed by a "dead" tensioner, tension should (by fysics) rise when the blade shortens?

Do you transport the larger sawmills with a tensioned blade in place?

Like you say, leaving tension on a rubberized wheel may be a problem. Would be due to something called "creep" deformation.

I appreciate this video and all the others Tim and Stephen provide. I will be using them often since the day has finally come for me to put down the deposit for a HD3238 tomorrow. I have pestered Robert Dickard for a couple of years now and each time I talk with him he is very patient and informative. Other than my home, this purchase is the biggest and most important of my life! I will be in Idaho developing my timber covered property. I'm looking forward to a fun retirement!
