I found this video on the internet of a teacher conducting a wonderful experiment with his students in their classroom.
The experiment was in two phases: one of the students was on the table barefoot and the teacher was applying the force, and the other was when the student was wearing a roller skate on the table and the teacher was applying the force.
In the second case, the student was not feeling any force applied by the teacher and the reason for that was Inertia mentioned in the video but that's WRONG.
NMS sir has explained the complete experiment conducted by the teachers and given the reason for the student not feeling any force.
Questions on such concepts are majorly asked in IIT JEE, Olympiad and many other difficult exams.
If you are someone who likes to understand physics on a deeper level and wants to learn JEE advanced-level physics then do subscribe to our channel for more such videos.

For basics student who don't have much knowledge about mechanics we can say that this happen because of inertia because here also body wants to be in its initial state which is the basics defination of inertia. One thing , there is a role of inertia for sure, your explanation in my humble opinion is partially correct, the thing is that the boy's body is not a rigid body, so while in the first case there is a force of friction that tries to pull them forward the upper part of his body will try to stay as it is because of inertia, so in a way a part of the body that is legs are trying to go ahead and the upper part is trying to stay as it is, creating a serious imbalance and thus a fear of falling, this is where inertia is involved. In the second part of the problem , because of the wheels the lower part experiences little acceleration as you rightly said, so it is not disturbed much and the upper part's inertia is also almost untouched and thus more comfortable, your explanation is thus to my understanding partially correct!! More power to you sir!!

Inertia is also playing a important role here, if there was no inertia then the wheel of the skates will not rotate, and the ball will shake same as without skate. That teacher is not wrong he is just explained incomplete, that you completed it. Thank you👍

Hello sir.. thank you for your nice explanation…need to tell something that in both situations the boy and the table are in same frame of reference. As friction force is an electromagnetic force, and oppose the motion of the body. The another force is reaction force that is acting in upward direction.
    1. In first situation when we pulling the table, the resultant force of reaction and friction force is making an angle and acting in backward direction. The acceleration is not constant as we pulling the chair and stopping it. So the position of boy is dis balancing from its initial position.
    2. Now the second situation is totally different as the boy can move with skates in the opposite direction. In this situation the acceleration of table and boy is totally different because we are pulling chair with same acceleration but the boy will move with more acceleration as rolling is there.
Now the table is experiencing more friction than boy. So the condition is more dis balancing.
Final observation:- This is not a perfect example of inertia and not an example of rolling motion. This is an example of non - inertial frames.
    Thank you

Measure of inertia is called mass.
In this case normal reaction is mg
This decides friction force so indirectly inertia has a role.
Of course the difference in two situations is attributed to sliding and rolling friction respectively.

Sir ne INERTIA observe karane ke liye wheels use kiya kyunki bina wheels ke friction bahot jada tha aur inertia observe karna mushkil tha jabki vo exist krta hai so jab friction ka direct impact body se hata diya gaya to INERTIA observe karna asaan ho gya
Aur apne ye explain kiya ki wheel ne friction ko exactly counter kaise kiya jo ki 100% sahi explain kiya hai
Par ye sochiye ap dono ne alag alag phenomena ka explaination diya hai
So ye kehna galat hai :- ki unka explaination galat tha apko ye kehna chahiye ki unka explaination adhura tha aur unhone jaan bujh ke nahi bataya
because unka motive ius time sirf nertia ke bare me batana tha us time friction wheel ke through kaise counter ho raha hai ye batana nahi
11 ke bachhe ko ek santh multi concept batayenge to vo bhag jaega isliye step wise time ke santh batate hai
Aur jinko lagta hai ki inertia kaam hi nahi kar raha explaination galat hai sirf wheel ka kamal hai
Vo oil ya greec table pe laga ke bhi try kar le same result hoga
✅️And imagine agar inertia kaam na karta body pe to body wheel pehnne ke baad bhi table ke santh chali jati kuki vo CHANGE IN STATE OF REST ko resist hi nahi karti to wheel ghumta hi nahi ek bahot minor sa friction force jo wheel pe lag raha hai vo bhi body ko khich leta table ke santh ✅️
Wheel ke jagah oil imagine kar ke dekho jada achhe se samajh ayega🙌
    Simple bhasha me kahu to
1st case me friction dominant tha inertia se
2nd case me inertia dominent tha friction se kiunki wheel ne counter kar diya friction ka direct affect body pe padne se
So ap dono ka explaination 100% sahi hai bas apne wheel ka kamal bataya unhone inertia ka kuki unka topic inertia tha us time aisa nahi hai ki unko pata nahi wheel kaise kaam kar rahi hai friction ka impact body pe kam karne ke liye 🙏
I know apka kaam unko galat prove karna nahi tha us experiment ke baki ke concepts batana tha
Par log to galat hi samjh rahe hai 😂 apke title ko dekh ke ki apne galat prove kar diya sir ko
Teachers se sikho unko compare ya judge mat karo🙏

  • @nayanbaishya4077
    @nayanbaishya4077 5 місяців тому +1

Although your explanation is correct, but to conclude that inertia has no role will not be appropriate. Through the experiment, the intention of the teacher might be to demonstrate newtons 1st law.
Since the rolling friction is very less the force exerted on the student is less, which is not sufficient to perturb the student.
To have better understanding, I will leave a question. What would be the behaviour of the system if the mass of student and mass of roller skate is very less (negligible)?

concept was great, might be a little error assuming the weight of child is 800kg, as you took his mass 80kg and W=mg (so his weight was considered 800kg!!!). 80kg would have resulted in 40N. but anyways it was a just a numerical mistake which has no effect on that crystal clear explanation.
good to see physics community growing :)

Nice explanation but sir i have a doubt what if we move the table very slow then i think that the object on the table will also move with the table and the object is stable because we are fast and rapidly moving the table. So is there not any role of inertia.
