Great advice. I retired also during COVID. I usually saved 15% in what we have as 401K pre tax for retirement and 10% to a savings account for ready cash. It was deducted from my pay and sent directly to each account, therefore you did not miss it. I also had a couple real estate investments, which now after three years of retirement, I liquidated and put into an investment fund, a little for 15 months, a little for 5 years and the balance tied up in case of long term care. You have to plan ahead. In case I don’t use them, then my kids are beneficiaries. Right now I enjoy my retirement. God is good and afforded me good health. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
Good morning. Very good and solid advice in this video for seniors and all the young ones who follow you on social media. Thanks for showing African women that life does not end when they reach certain age as long as they are healthy and able.👏👏💕
I’m happy to be on this channel, learning and admiring so so much. What a coincidence, I ate okra for lunch. Also can you sell some of the fresh produce to willing buyers like me? Happy to be a customer. Enjoy mammaaaa and may the Almighty give you good health.
Christine I love the way you interact with your dogs and show them love. Joey captured the avocado and wanted to play. Thank you for sharing. Also thanks for the okra recipe. I enjoy your channel.
Good evening lovely Lady, so good to see another amazing vlog. This video was filled with so much wisdom. I am 63 years old and still learning. you are right when you say, we should not be stressing at this age in our lives. Thank God for you my friend. from the USA
For those of us who do not live in your country and therefore may not be familiar with how things are done over there, what is the story behind the delivery of (what seems like ) farm produce to your house on a motorbike. Was this sent directly from your country home in western Kenya or did you just place an order to a centralized farm produce distribution center and they delivered? Would love to know how this works. That is a GREAT harvest of avocados! And just from your backyard garden. You are so blessed! Doggie thinks it is a ball or toy to be played with! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you.
Thank you very much for the enquiry. I farm at my rural home, and when they are harvested, I use a transporter that brings them up to the town where I reside (Nairobi). They then call to inform me my goods have arrived. From there, I use motorbikes to bring them home.
Hi Christine my sister, very good advice to everyone of us not only for the young people. The dog thought that avocado was a ball and wanted to play, so cute 😍😂 the okra looked delicious with ugali, very healthy eating. Be blessed dear ❤😊
Hi Christine, this is soooo God sent. I am going into retirement and believe me you hit the nail on the head. What eats me is, what am I going to do from morning to evening. Thank you my dearest.
You are welcome 😊 There is a lot to do my sister, think of the things you never had time to do, this is the time. Join music class, swimming, golfing etc, the list is endless 👌. May God guide you 🙏🏾
Hello. Yes I am one of those young people watching you. I live in Scotland. I love your channel. You are like those older women described in the Bible in the book of Timothy. I consider you to be my internet grandma. I love your videos. I too want to transition to eating a Plantbased diet. Your recipes are very simple Your content is very therapeutic. I find content from young people is very fast paced and lives one feeling discontent with their life and feeds in to comparison and envy mentality. Yet your videos are very therapeutic and they reassure me to be content with my life
I am one of your earliest subscribers, have been subscribing to your videos when you first started. Amazing how your channel has grown. Thank you for the awesome content.
Jambo Christine🥰. Your potted plants and flowers are looking healthy and pretty. I am sure the abundance of rain helped all your plants. I call this vlog the “ THE WISDOM VLOG”! Thank you very much for sharing with us. Your farm grown vegetables from the village looks delicious. I cook okra the same way you do but I always add onions to mine. I am an onion lover. Continue to enjoy your retirement! Learning never ceases, it keeps our brain cells alive and active! Kwaheri 🥰💜🌺🙏🏾🫶🏾🙋🏾♀️
Thank you very much my dear sister, your comments always warms my heart. I will try putting onions next time, thanks for the tips. God bless you always 🙏🏾
Hi beautiful one thanks for sharing your life you're inspiring those of us who are approaching there. 'joey' is so possessive he doesn't want to see you do anything for snow.
Great content and seeing you enjoy life after retirement. I would love to know more on how did you manage to save or invest to build such a beautiful home. 😍 I need to know so I can be tour neighbour in my retirement 😆 🤣 On income after retirement what investments did you make in your youth that have come in handy now and how can one go about that in the current harsh economic environment of living largely hand to mouth
Welcome and thanks for watching and commenting. In fact, saving, just like now, was not easy. Hand to mouth was the order of the day. We relied so much on bank loans and top ups. Up to now, my husband is still working and still paying the balance. I would advise one that saving is good because bank loans are quite expensive.
Interesting perspective.... My goal is to have read the whole Bible from Genesis to Re've'lation at least 6 times or more.... You came Mix okra with other vegetables as well..
