I knew Holland back in the late '70s in New York. We were in a group together run by Lila Rosenblum. She was a struggling actress and one of the most intelligent, warm hearted people I have ever known. I have followed her wonderful career and can tell you that no one deserves success more than Holland. She is a very special lady.
I remember that I used to drive her uptown after the group and we'd chat in my car. She was a no nonsense person, but very warm and witty. When I've seen her on talk shows over the years, she seems to be the same person I knew all those years ago. When I knew her, she was broke. Now, I'm sure she's a wealthy woman, and deserves to be. No one worked harder and sacrificed more to "make it" than Holland.
I loved Bosom Buddies when it was first run and I was 9ish. Loved Holland Taylor...knew there was something special about her then, and ever time I’d see her in something as I got older I’d remember her as this character. To see her career renaissance today and her love for Sarah Paulson is beyond great. And she’s a Philly girl! Love you, Holland!
I was also 9 when I first discovered Holland Taylor on 'Bosom Buddies." Like you, I always got excited whenever I saw her on another show, like when she was on "The Naked Truth" in the mid-1990s. Holland Taylor makes everything worth watching.
This show was so ahead of it's time back then. It marks a change in the sit-com paradigm to me, different than I Love Lucy, Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley. Heck, it was the 80's paradigm and Bosom Buddies run was way too short.
I remember years ago listening to Paul Harvey talking about a new upcoming TV series called "Bosom Buddies" about a couple of guys who dress as women so they can stay in a ladies' hotel. He described it with dripping disapproval, and, taking a cue from that, I thought "How disgusting." It turned out to be one of my all-time favorite TV shows.
@@lauriethomas4145I agree it is often that :) but here I feel it’s not just that, she was only 37 here. She does look a lot older than her age here. Probably the gracefulness and self assured boss lady acting also contributes :) Great actress
She got funnier as that show went on, there was one episode where Scolari went to a computer dating service and they discovered their boss was a member, their reaction to her audition tape was a riot
Did anyone else come here because they suddenly got curious what Holland Taylor looked like when she was a lot younger than in "Two And A Half Men", and then ended up on this video for that reason?
+Laurelindo No, I always think of her role in Bosom Buddies first, she was always very funny. I wanted to find the episode where Hanks & Scolari go to a video dating service and accidentally find Holland Taylor's video, the audience screamed with laughter at her and Hanks said something like "Ruth Dunbar, she's funny and charming...if you live in the bizarro world."
I know most people are here for either Holland Taylor or Peter Scolari comments. However, am I the only one reading the chalkboard entries? Emil Nitrate, better known as Amyl Nitrite?
wow she looks almost exactly like in two and a half men and sounds the same XD just a biit of an age differ really but the ages between you cant even really see it

Was she already gay at this time?
@@sucote100 It doesn't work like that.
She never changes!!!! she looks amazing today!
@@sucote100 dumbest fucking question on the planet.🙄
@@sucote100 I'm pretty sure she was at birth. Did your sexual orientation change at any time?
RIP Peter Scolari...thank you for a great body of work to remember you by.
i just finished Newhart and BB, had no idea he was dead

This show was way ahead of its time! It was hilarious with a great cast and great writing! I was devastated when it was cancelled.

@@emilyx8377 She most certainly does. Nicely said!
Holland Taylor is one of the most brilliant actresses I've ever seen
This sitcom should have produced more episodes.
They would have if ABC didn't cancel it.
Tom Hanks was so good in this, i wish he made more comedies nowdays

real comedy, probably improvised - love the whole interchange with the cigarette lighter

The way she fell into that bean bag chair gave me life! 😂
We were all young once. It was an amazing time.
“Oh, yes, hello. You’re the one I didn’t want.”
Foreshadowing of Hollywood.
The bean bag chair! Classic 😂
Interesting how she looks older in this clip from the 80's, compared to her more recent appearances on Two and a Half Men...
It's the make up and styling.
. And plastic surgery?

Holland is a Wonderful Actress.
A Scene Stealer.
Just Great.
😅😅😅 just watched her innerviews interview and boy this woman is talented
In a simple way this woman made me laugh the whole scene.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ I used to love this show!
hard to overstate just how popular bean bags were in the 80's
Lmao and neither one of them helped her 🤣🤣
Love Holland Taylor!
Thats where we got to meet her with him. Wow
She is funny, I like her.
Oh yes, hello! You're the one I didn't want! 🤣
I've always liked Holland Taylor. This scene is just so funny. Gee guys.help her up. Funny.
Keep it brought me here.
Back when TV didn't suck
She swam out of the couch 😂
This ep is awesome
My WORD! Holland Taylor is a FOX!!
If Peter Scolari lived nowadays at the age of this episode, he could easily play Han Solo in Solo.

Anyone else sent here by Leslie Grossman?
God I love Holland
It's amazing seeing Ms. Taylor still doing great work.
SQUAAAAB!!!

It ironic Holland Taylor didn't want him . It like how Hollywood didn't want him but wanted tom hanks
He had a lot of great seasons on Newhart. Better run than most actors get.
🌹
the best part was cut off. it's what they do with the cigarette butt.
wow she looks almost exactly like in two and a half men and sounds the same XD
just a biit of an age differ really but the ages between you cant even really see it
Está mejor ahora 2020
Her nose looks different now.
It's 35 years older.
How to sit like a lady while wearing a skirt.
